Our stay at James’ house was nothing short of perfect. He met us at the car rental place and we followed him back to the house (driving is fine, but takes some getting used to). He showed us around and that was it! The house is great for people wanting to explore St John or just relax. The porch had a nice breeze most of the day and the pool was refreshing. Very quiet and private. Pro tip: be prepared for steep roads and hairpin turns. Just take it slow and you’ll be ok. 10/10 would rent again!!

Property is very private while being just minutes from Cruz Bay. Home has everything you need for a great vacation. It feels like a tree house in the jungle. James met us at the ferry dock and showed us the way and made sure that we had everything we needed.

My husband and I stayed in the one bedroom, one bath unit. It is an excellent value for the price considering you get an ocean view, a fantastic swimming pool and a clothes washer and dryer. This is a beautiful rustic place to stay that is private, yet a short drive to Cruz Bay. There are only three units, and one of those is the owner, so the pool is never crowded and there are lots of chairs.
We rented a Jeep from a place on St. John, and the cottage owner, James, met us there to show us the way to his place because Google maps is not accurate. It was nice to follow someone for our first time driving on the left-hand side of the road!
We visited in June and there were many flowering tropical plants on the property. There is an outdoor grill, a gas stove, flashlights, batteries, and candles to keep you covered in case of a power outage. If you stay during the humid months of summer, you will probably use the air conditioner while you are at the cottage. The air conditioner is strong enough to make the bedroom as cold as you want, while also cooling the kitchen area and brings down the humidity in the bathroom/ laundry room area. To use the air conditioner, you have to close the big arched wooden doors and window shutters, so then you do not have any view and have to turn on the lights, but you can sit on the screened-in porch or up at the pool for the view. The cottage really only has room for two people to sleep in the air-conditioned area of the cottage.

This place was wonderful with a stunning view! We spent 5 nights here to celebrate our 15th anniversary. James met us at the ferry and guided us to the house and showed us around. The sunsets were spectacular with the gorgeous view!
The house was unique- I love all the arched doorways and windows with wood shutters and the round stained glass window. The kitchen was well stocked. We cooked/grilled a lot the first 3 days.
Having a big refrigerator was nice! The living/dining room is a screened in room. We watched a big iguana outside in a tree for awhile. It got a little warm during the afternoon/sunset but St. John is always warm.🙂 We didn't use the hot tub since it was warm. We didn't use the pool either since we were usually worn out from swimming at the beaches. There were coolers, beach towels, chairs and floats there which was so nice for our beach excursions. Having a way to do laundry was nice! The bathroom$ was also stocked well with towels. There are steps going into the house,up top to the pool/deck and inside going to the bathroom/laundry rooms. So if you're elderly, this may not be the place for you. There were chickens, iguanas and hermit crabs around to add to the island feel. The electricity went off a few times which is not the owner's fault, but be aware that it happens frequently on the island. We'd definitely stay again!

This rental was a perfect fit for us. We love the indoor/outdoor nature of the way its designed and the added comfort of a pool upstairs. We loved the sounds of birds, tree frogs and roosters. Did not use the AC in the bedroom every night but was glad it was there when we wanted it. Only regret was not wearing insect repellent. The screens are efficient, but this is, after all St. John. In fact, everything about this rental is so "st john" --thats why we love it. James is an excellent host and was very helpful when our flight was delayed and the car rental closed before we arrived. He treated us to drinks and gave us a ride back to town when the car rental agency opened in the morning. Great Stay!!

James was a great host and very accommodating. Nice cottage for 2. Pool and hot tub great. Good view and easy access to main road with a driveway you can turn around in without backing onto the road.

Great Quite Location. The view and pool were awesome. James was a great host. Helpful and knowledgeable.

James was a great host. The place was beautiful and clean. We had everything we needed. The view is absolutely gorgeous and in the perfect spot to explore the whole island. It is also located close to Cruz Bay! James also met us at the dock when we got there. We have stayed at other places on the island. This one was our favorite and we will be back!💜

After several mishaps due to our airline we arrived a day late and James was so awesome and kept in contact with us the entire time. Beautiful views from the villa and perfect for a couples vacation. Thanks again James for everything! We will be back!

I was nervous going into this trip with some hesitations. It was a surprise trip for my husband's 50th birthday. So, I had planned it all on my own. And both him & I were very happy with the place. It was perfect for what we needed. The price was affordable. We look forward to staying again. :)

Wonderful affordable villa to get you relaxing on island time. Access to a beautiful pool and sun deck, great views of sunset and distant St Thomas lights at night. Easy drive to Cruz Bay or the NP beaches. The host is the best; friendly and welcoming!

There was dust everywhere! the app has no idea where property was, as it took us 2 miles away. We had terrible cell service so communication with owner was difficult but he did well considering but would definitely recommend having him meet you to show you where the property is. The property is listed as sleeps 4 but that is if one person sleeps on a couch that is cushions on wood bench and one sleeps in a hammock.

James' cottage was the perfect way to experience the natural beauty of St John for the first time. The views were amazing and the indoor/outdoor feeling of the living area made it even more special. It was close enough to town to make it convenient, but far enough to be quiet and peaceful. James made check in a breeze. We would definitely stay there again!

The Rendezvous is in a location above Cruz Bay with great views. Comfortable, pretty well equipped (if you cook you'll have to bring everything), and has a nice vibe. If you're looking for resort pampering, this is not for you. One exception: there is a lovely small pool and patio area that feels pretty deluxe :) But if you want a place from which to explore St. John, and is close enough to town to eat, shop, etc. but to be away from in a very peaceful way, this place is it and was was excellent for us. James (owner) is very friendly, helpful, and available if needed. We're already thinking about a return trip to St. John, and this is where we will book to stay! One note: IMHO car not optional.

10 minutes from Cruz Bay where there are lots of shopping and food options. Easy enough to get to the north shore beaches. James is terrific. Very accommodating. Wonderful view of St. Thomas.

A cozy and comfortable place to stay, with good access to Wintergreen activities.

Jim went above and beyond, picking us up at the ferry dock late at night when our flight was delayed. Our unit was well equipped, clean and comfortable. We had a lovely view of Cruz Bay and St. Thomas. King sized bed was very comfortable. Very nice shaded pool area. Cruz Bay was a convenient ten minute drive.

We stayed for 5 days, husband and son. Our main goal was to explore the beaches and we can’t decide which was our favorite between Trunk and Cinnamon. Driving the local roads probably took a few years off my life but worth it! Next time we will try to plan on making dinners because the restaurants are very expensive.

James was easy to communicate with and appreciated the easy check in and check out process. Property was great for an in and out place to lay heads. We enjoyed ourselves and were thankful for the BBQ and utensils etc already at the house.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and had an amazing time! The host was very accommodating and easy to contact. The property is only a few minute drive to downtown Cruz bay and a short drive to the beautiful beaches that St John has to offer. We are excited to visit again!

Perfect cottage!
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay on St John’s and at this perfect cottage. The place was clean, easy to get to, quiet. We didn’t need anything additional. Even though there were common areas with the other cottages, we rarely saw anyone else. I would recommend this place to friends/family.

AMAZING
Kelly was absolutely amazing!!! I was in St John’s for a wedding and my luggage didn’t arrive and I had nothing but the clothes on my back and my bridesmaids dress. Kelly brought me makeup and some additional clothes. It is an understatement to say she went above and beyond. Kelly also picked us up from the ferry and drove us to the property. She regularly checked in to make sure everything was going well!! Cannot say enough good things about them!! Highly recommend staying here!!

My wife and I stayed at the property in mid-May 2022. We found the unit a great value being spacious, clean, well located, and offering great views. The host, James, is friendly and responsive.

James and his wife have done a great job maintaining this cottage built into the side of the hill. Our apartment was the lowest part of the 3 unit complex. But we still had an excellent view of the bay. Even though there are 3 units, no one was directly on top of us. So I didn’t have to be concerned about any neighbor noise.
If you are the type of person who wants a perfectly manicured landscape, the Westin would be a better match as this garden featured more plants that were more adapted to the soil of this area.
We enjoyed seeing all the numerous types of anoles lizards . It was also fun to watch the I Iguanas feast on the ripening papaya.
James was the owner and also managed the upkeep of the property. Everything was in fine shape. There were no holes in the screens to allow no see una to enter the nicely sized enclosed patio area.
The cottage included amenities such as full kitchen, washer, dryer ,king sized bed with air conditioning in the bedroom. We rented his 4 wheel car which came in very handy for scouting out different beaches each day. This place is comfortable enough for a fairly long stay.

Location and home were exactly as described. James, the host, is welcoming and super helpful. The AC in the bedroom is much needed, but the rest of the house is open air. Sunsets are fantastic. There’s a shared pool but you don’t really need that with all the beaches a short drive away. A great stay with a great host.

James our host was very attentive. He was so kind as to pick us up from the ferry. The cottage was exactly like the pictures and in a good location. The host had a car that we were able to rent and this was extremely helpful. We definitely hope to return one day.

Owner was easy to communicate with, met us at the ferry dock and guided us right to the property. Beautiful view both from inside unit and pool area. Everything we needed - dishes, towels, beach chairs, ice chests, etc. Loved the fact that there were no windows - just screens (if you are expecting the Marriott do not book here) - the sounds of the roosters and watching the iguanas lent itself to the island experience. Beaches on St John are beautiful but very crowded early in the day - go late in the day to enjoy a little more solitude and lovely sunsets. Don’t skip out on sugar mill ruins - very interesting. Driving the steep windy roads is scary at first but just take your time and move out of the way of locals.

The owner was great. Super communicative, helpful, even met me at the car ferry and drove us to the house! The house is located up on a mountain side with views of the ocean. Shared pool upstairs, with two other units, has even better views. He even has beach chairs, coolers, and snorkels to use. That's a money and time saver right there! Firestick to watch Netflix, Youtube, Hulu if you like. One bedroom, with a screened in lanai, with a nice breeze. This isn't the Ritz, but honestly it was EXACTLY what we wanted. Cute, quaint, rustic home, with nice amenities. If you want something super fancy, this might not be right. But if you want amazing views, great value, comfortable stay, full kitchen, wonderful screened in lanai, easy 5 min drive from Cruz bay, this is the place. My wife and I loved it so much, we have already talked about buyin a place similar one day!
