About this house rental
The Pine View Bungalow is a two bedroom, two bath home perfect for one or two couples or a small family. The house is located on scenic Highway 1 at the north end of the fishing village of Bodega Bay. It is situated at the back of a large double lot and is adjacent to our other one bedroom/one bathroom Pine View Cottage. There is a large fenced back yard. There is ample parking for your car(s) or boat(s). We welcome you and your well behaved canine.
Pine View Bungalow was completely remodeled in 2011. Upon entering the home, you will immediately notice the beautiful finishes including 14' vaulted ceilings paneled in knotty pine, the rock faced gas fireplace, the wainscot and the numerous windows that take advantage of the fantastic view. The living room is furnished with a comfortable sectional, chairs and a large coffee table perfect for laying out a puzzle or playing games. Additional amenities include free Cable TV, DVD/CD player with surround sound and high speed wireless Internet.
The first bedroom has a queen bed, vaulted knotty pine ceiling and a large sliding glass door that opens onto the back patio. There is a bath directly across the hall from this bedroom that has a tub/shower combination and also houses the stacked washer and dryer. Up two steps is the spacious master bedroom, also with a queen bed and a sliding glass door that opens on to the patio and hot tub. Up five steps is a spa-like master bath that features a glassed in shower with a river rock floor, and a vaulted, knotty pine paneled ceiling. There is a hot water on demand system for the house that provides unlimited hot water (although we encourage water conservation).
The kitchen is fully furnished with all the equipment necessary to prepare fantastic meals. You might even use vegetables bought at the seasonal Bodega Farmer's Market or locally caught sea food, particularly dungeness crab purchased from any one of several sources within a 1/2 mile of the house.
If you enjoy cooking like we do, you may never want to leave the house, but if you choose to treat yourself to a great meal, the Michelin rated Terrapin Creek Cafe is directly across the street. There's nothing better than walking to dinner - enjoying great cuisine, drinks and dessert - and not having to get in your car!
A private covered patio runs the length of the back of the house and contains the hot tub, table and chairs and a Weber barbecue. Relax in the hot tub at night and watch the fishing boats come into the harbor, and, on the 4th of July, watch the fireworks while you soak in the tub.
Also across the street is a kite shop with bins of salt water taffy, a small coffee house and a cute souvenir and apparel shop.
A short walk will take you to Porto Bodega where you can charter a fishing trip on one of the many charter boats, pick up locally caught seafood, or just explore the harbor and sample some of the best crab and clam chowder on the coast.
There are many recreational activities within a mile of the house, including golf, windsurfing, fishing, hiking, biking, kite flying, beachcombing, kayaking, bird and whale watching. Or you can explore nearby towns, such as Occidental (eat at Negri's restaurant), Freestone (Osmosis Spa is a must) and the Russian River area. Or just take a drive north on Highway 1 along the most spectacular coastline in the world. You won't be disappointed.

The outside is very basic, well kept and clean. Inside was a complete surprise for our two guests as they didn't have anything to do with us renting the bungalow for an informal surprise get away. By the end of our stay, we all agreed it was too short and we would all miss the Bungalow. We did nothing for 3 days and nights. It was wonderful. We did cook dinner one evening there and everything we needed was supplied. A well stocked kitchen to say the least. One of our guests used the hot tub which was extremely well kept and said it was the end of a perfect day hiking. I would highly recommend the Pine View Bungalow to anyone who is looking for a wonderful spot in Bodega Bay. We enjoyed the woods as much as the water.

The Pine View Bungalow was perfect for our get away! Very clean and well appointed. Communication was almost immediate. The location was wonderful. Spa was so welcomed! Beds were comfy. Cannot wait to return. I can see this home becoming our "home away from home"! We will return soon!

Three friends and I stayed at the cottage for a three day weekend. The minute we opened the door, we knew we had hit the jackpot. The cottage is adorable. The decor beautiful and beachy! Everything you could possibly need is provided. The weather was perfect. My friends were escaping the heat of the Sacramento Valley. Gorgeous setting, views of the bay. The perfect weekend. We will definitely go back!

The house was perfect. Cozy, comfortable, and convenient to beaches, shopping and eating. We went to 3 beaches, drove to Occidental, the town of Bodega and Duncan Mills. The house itself had games, a view of nature with deer and easy to use kitchen. The only thing it didn’t have was a Keurig coffee pot, just a regular one. It was quiet, even though it was right off highway 1. We enjoyed the evenings in the hot tub.

I had read reviews from people who had stayed at this property more than once and now I understand! It is an ideal situation - in the heart of Bodega Bay, near everything you need, while being in an idyllic beach and farmland region. The area is so beautiful and we enjoyed exploring the many country roads on bicycles, ending up in Sebastopol, Freestone, and Occidental. It is also a short drive to Jenner and Duncans Mills. The property itself was super clean and tidy and everything worked perfectly. As frequent property renters, we were very impressed by the supplies and cookware available in the kitchen. We ate every meal except one in the house. For one dinner out, we went to Fishetarian, which we would highly recommend. Our chihuahua was in heaven in the backyard, exploring the "wild" while protected in a fully enclosed space. The living room was so comfortable and the bedrooms were fantastic. The hot tub was a highlight. We sat in it in the sunshine and in the rain and enjoyed it every time, staring at the view of the water and the trees overhead. Highly recommend.

This is our 2nd time staying at this property. Unfortunately our stay was cut short because of a storm that knocked out power throughout most of NorCal. The owners checked in our us and even brought us a generator to use if we decided to stay. We always enjoy our stay here, good or bad weather and intend to return. Property is well maintained and very well furnished.

This little house is perfectly appointed to make it a home. So comfortable, quiet, clean. The perfect getaway to reenergize your spirit. I will certainly return. A GEM

Very clean and supplied with everything you’d ever need. Great location, nice view. The only thing that could have made it better was detailed instructions on how to get the TV in the living room programmed so we could get to the local channels. Had to watch the 49er game and the Rosebowl parade and game in the bedroom.

Everything was perfect. A bit smaller than it looked on the pictures but the yard was huge and perfect for the pup. I lived just north of bodega and this was an excellent property and home to come back home too!
I will book this house in the future for sure, simply perfect!!
Thank you!

The house was clean and very well thought out with amenities. There was nothing we needed that wasn’t there. Location was great. The backyard was perfect for our small dog. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

There was dog poop in driveway, that I stepped in getting out of car. Mouse in bathroom. Dish washer would not turn on. Otherwise inside clean and kitchen well stocked. Did not have any communication with property manager, so really can’t rate them

Centrally located, perfect for 4 guests, extremely clean, lots of lighting options for ambiance, comfortable beds, every amenity you might need, definitely hope to go back sooner rather than later.

We stay near or at the beach whenever we can. Although you do need a car, both Doran and Bodega Head are just minutes away so the location is fine. The house was clearly set up to be easy to stay in, very comfortable, clean, well equipped and just darn cute. It was also the most dog friendly places we've ever stayed. We loved it!

we went to celebrate my mom's 88th birthday!
this is my second trip to this property and it's just one of my favorite rentals. equipment-wise there is anything and everything you would need to cook a wonderful meal. . . the fridge is emptied after every stay but there are simple items like salt and pepper, oil, and those random rental house spices! They have a really nice Belgian waffle maker so bring waffle batter ingredients! Shop before you hit town because the little store on hwy 1 is crazy expensive.
the house is comfortable, cozy and quiet. we experienced a super moon while we were there and it was incredible to sit in the hot tub while the moon crested over the beautiful old pine trees that creak and sway with the wind. it was perfect.
last time i stayed there, it was with my very elderly dog who enjoyed laying in the sun or snoozing in front of the fireplace. this time i had my young dog with me and she really enjoyed the huge, secure fenced-in yard in back of the house. bring your chuck-it for hours of fun for you and your pooch!
the house is close to Spuds which is famous for it's clam chowder - both red and white. since we were so close we enjoyed Spuds quite a few times and i tried the red clam chowder for the first time and it is amazing!
there is a spirit of generosity in this house. . .everything you need is there. i just love it!

This was a great home to stay in. It was spotless, quiet, the beds were extremely comfortable, and everything you could possibly need was at your fingertips. The hot tub was a welcome treat. There were plenty of electrical outlets to charge all your devices!

My husband and I would highly recommend this place! It was cute, clean, and so cozy. We had everything we needed, including a fenced in yard for our two small dogs. It is refreshing to find a place that exceeds your expectations. Although it was just the two of us (and two fur babies), it would have been comfortable to share with another couple as well.

Had everything we needed. Nice big area for our pups to explore. Very cute beach house decorations. Didn’t use the spa but nice that one was there. Had a stackable washer-dryer that came in handy. Highly Recommend.

We were again happy to find our favorite vacancy at your bungalow that completely meets our needs! Looked for your landlord phone number and could not find it on any of our paperwork or located on any of the documents in the residence. Just have a couple of questions. We'll be back to enjoy our favorite outings again. We love Wild Flour Bakery, Terrapin Creek for a lovely dinner (right across the street!) and lunching at the Chowder house across from Spud Point Harbor. Hope the crab season opens up soon. We generally like to take 2 or 3 live ones home upon your departure! Thanks again!

The bungalow is a truly beautiful property in Bodega Bay. It was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The coastal theme throughout the house was lovely and the owners pay particular attention to insuring both guests and pets have everything needed for an enjoyable stay. Would definitely recommend this property!

It was so great last year, we came back!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Love all the amenities and the nice basket for doggies. We would definitely recommend this place. The only drawback was during our stay there was construction going on next door.

This property had everything we asked for. Hot tub with a partial view of the bay, comfortable bed, kitchen with everything, Bluetooth speaker system, tankless hot water heater so I could even get a shower, etc. It is close to a lot of places in Bodega Bay too. Right off of Highway 1, but far enough back it is plenty quiet to sleep. Would definitely come back.
