About this house rental
Life doesn’t get any better than experiencing the breathtaking views and turquoise waters of Roatan at The Pink Orchid! This fully equipped home is located in the cozy community of Orchid Beach Village midway between West End and West Bay Beach. With views in every direction both inside and out, the home overlooks the largest coral reef in the northern hemisphere, making this location a snorkeling, kayaking and diver's paradise! Facing westward, its one of the limited spots on the island where guests can enjoy full panoramic sunsets while taking in spectacular ocean vistas from the wrap-around decks. And you can enjoy the views under the shade of a full canopy of trees, something hard to find but so delightful.....or enjoy our sundeck with four lounge chairs if you want to get some rays.
Each of the three bedrooms has their own dedicated bathroom, ideal for families or couples traveling together yet desiring privacy. The kitchen is newly remodeled with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. It is equipped with a French door stainless refrigerator, five-burner gas stove & oven, microwave, coffee maker and grinder, Cuisinart food processor, InstaPot, toaster, waffle maker, Cuisinart ice cream maker and electric mixer for all your cooking needs. The full service for fifteen of Dansk Caribe dishes and many accompanying cookware and utensils make this the perfect place for entertaining. If the preference is to have someone do the cooking during your stay, a local cook can come and prepare some or all of the meals to your liking. The living area is open and inviting with a large couch, two oversized chairs and a chair with ottoman, a dining area that seats six and a breakfast bar that seats four more. From its traditional Caribbean hardwood and tiled floors to its vaulted ceilings and expansive windows, you can enjoy island living at its best.
This private home is located between and within walking distance of two popular island destinations: West End and West Bay Beach. If you are looking for fun nightlife, both offer a variety of restaurant eateries, local shops and beach activities. Guests can walk to both attractions or easily catch a water taxi from our dock for a quick 5-minute ride. There are also five elegant beachfront restaurants and one beach bar and grill, all located just minutes from the house offering island cuisine in our backyard.(Luna Muna at Ibagari, The Lotus at Xbalanque, and Sea Salt Bistro, Azul at the Blue Roatan Resort, Bar Luna at the Luna Beach Resort, and The Boat Bar and Grill).
Situated on a bluff overlooking the water, guests will find amazing snorkeling and kayaking opportunities just steps from the house. The Pink Orchid has two new 2-seater kayaks available for your use and we are 300 yards from the world's second largest reef - the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. Our property managers can arrange snorkeling, fishing and diving adventures per your interests. We work with a local dive operator that picks up and drops off right at the dock and they offer a 10% discount to guests from The Pink Orchid. If you are interested in local fruits, ask our gardener/maintenance man to bring you fresh coconuts, bananas, limes, or mangoes when in season – delicious! And for those rainy periods or quiet evenings at home, there are a plethora of board games and a full video library available for your use. The Pink Orchid is unique with the privacy it affords, surrounded by a large garden lining the ocean on one side and lush tropical trees and flowers that line the creek on the other side. After a day of hustle and bustle, its always a treat to return to this quiet getaway surrounded by a private garden on one side, a natural creek on the other, and an ocean of tranquil waters -- to enjoy the ultimate in privacy and relaxation.

From the start this was well done. Great communication from the owner at booking, straight through check-in. The property’s management company was also fantastic. Beautiful spot, great location, and wonderfully set-up. The pictures of the listing are spot on.

Our stay was flawless! We arrived and a driver was waiting for us and then took us to grocery store. We loaded up. We arrived at property and accessing the house was very easy as the instructions we received before arriving were perfect.
Once in home, it was very clean. We were six women with plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen is well stocked. Ensure your purchase dish soap and detergent - we remembered the detergent but not dish soap. Thankfully the prior renters left us enough to complete our week.
Restaurants were reasonably priced and food was DELICIOUS! The water taxis easy to wave them in to catch a ride to West Bay - that walk is a little treacherous due to rocks but walk to West End is glorious - sand all the way except for a bridge.
Snorkeling right of pier is as good as going on a tour. My sis-in-law saw two small octopuses - exciting!!
It was a chance meeting at a salon that we needed up at this gem - we all loved our time. Thank you for sharing our slice of heaven with us!

Beautiful home in a perfect location! This property was exactly as described in the listing. The owner and property management communicated wonderfully around the property and activities of interest in the area. The view from the deck makes it completely worth the trip! We spent many hours just soaking it in, with the joy of seeing the pair of Macaws fly over several times, watching both iguanas and geckos, so many hummingbirds, and the capybaras. We enjoyed the restaurants within walking distance and had Blackie cook for us one evening. We all agreed that was our highlight meal! The kitchen contains anything you could need to cook at the house, the internet and air-conditioning worked well. Several of us had to continue to check in with work while on island and had no issues with video calls.
The house is beautifully equipped. The information book was very helpful, the pre-travel emails, as were the previous guest notes. We had a few minor hiccups, but the staff was quick and responsive to help us out. The location is perfect to enjoy both West Bay and West End. We enjoyed the Rum Factory, Brewery, and Chocolate factory. Spending a day snorkeling at West Bay, and a day enjoying the local feel to West End, an island tour including a boat ride through the mangroves and a visit to the sloth sanctuary. We enjoyed many hours on the dock, floating, snorkeling, enjoying the reef right there and kayaking out to the reef. With very active kids, we were never bored!

Beautiful place. Great location. Easy access to West End and West Bay. Lots of great dive shops very close, and the one we selected was able to pick us up right from the dock of the property. Wonderful hosts who were easy to communicate with. 5 stars

This place is incredible. We loved being up in the trees with the macaws and lizards but also right on the beautiful water. Our group did diving trips every day in the morning and floated and snorkeled off the dock in the afternoons. Blue Moon diving (Las Rocas) picked us up from our dock! The house and everything in it was very comfortable and worked well. We walked to great restaurants down the beach and took water taxis to West End. Had lots of great meals! We rented a car and enjoyed the adventure of driving on the island. One of the on-land highlights was visiting Daniel Johnson’s Monkey & Sloth hangout. We hope we will be come back some day and do it all again. Thanks for sharing your slice of heaven with us!

The Pink Orchid is well stocked and has everything you need to enjoy Roatan. Al and Pam are terrific hosts. We enjoyed sunsets on the deck most every evening. The vegetation around the property added interest and privacy. The bedrooms did not share common walls with each other, so that offered a lot of privacy as well. IOt was perfect for our group of 5.
Marty picked us up from the airport and stopped by the grocery store on the way in. (Highly recommend you do that too). Blackie cooked for us two evenings; we bought fresh fish, shrimp, and lobster from the guy who comes to the house; and Juan Carlos opened fresh coconuts for us to enjoy one day. Juan also helped us with a third kayak that we needed for our group. The snorkeling and diving were fantastic. It's easy to catch a water taxi right from the pier. The kitchen was very well stocked. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We stayed as two couples at the Oink Orchid in early June. The location of the property is great as its exactly half way between West End and West Bay. We walked to West Bay quite a few times during our stay and twice to West End. Snorkeling off the dock was actually really good as well. The house was clean and very well stock and the a/c worked great as well. You'll be amazed by the view off the rear deck as you enjoy your morning coffee or a cocktail in the evening. AL is a great host with good communication too. Would highly recommend you staying here during your island vacation.

We visit the island once a year. This property is located on the best area of the island.
The house is a nice thrre rooms. Is fully equipment.
the view is incredible.
They have a lot of birds including humingbirds, parrots, macaws, pigeons. There is also some beautifull iguanas and the guatusas ( agoutis ).
They have kayaks and you can get the reef in lees than 10 minutes . We enjoy a lot the beautifull reef.
Is a perfect place for a 5 to 6 persons vacation.
Close to the better restaurants.

Our two families stayed at the pink orchid for 5 nights, but we wish it had been longer. We loved turtle beach, the kayaks the owners let us use, the kitchen, the deck, the hammock, proximity to clearwater adventures diving, and the backup power system which kept our food and drinks cold even though the island had no power. Did i mention the views?? Just incredible! We loved it here. Better than any 5-star hotel.

The Pink Orchid was amazing. Not only for its location but also because it has one of the best deck in the neighborhood. And as a bonus, there is a shared dock with a beautiful palapa from where you can swim and snorkel but also catch a water taxi. The coral in the shallows is small but it is filled with life. It was an easy walk to a few restaurants nearby wich made it very convenient. But you can also walk to both busy and touristy areas: the walk to West Bay involve walking on an elevated bridge and the walk to West end involve a bit of rocks and maybe walk in shallow water at high tide. There is a lot of people walking it all day. Otherwise, the house is set perfectly above a cliff to watch the sunsets. The surrondings are lush with trees: coconut palms, date palms, mango trees and there is flowers everywhere you look! Like a botanical garden. The macaws visited us before every sunset. The house is amazingly well stocked and comfortable. There are spices for a lifetime and lots of kitchen tools if you need it: blender, ice cream maker, name it! Juan Carlos, the caretaker lives next door. He is very sweet and is always around to help. He brought us some fresh coconuts that he picked and prepared in front of us! The area is quiet and very pretty. It is like an oasis: you wont regret it!

Love “The Pink Orchid” - stayed here several times. The view of the water is panoramic with the turquoise water and boats moored 500 feet out. Picturesque with phenomenal sunsets. The palapa for the deck was awesome for providing shade from the Roatan sun. We loved to float, snorkel and kayak right from the shore. Amenities are wonderful for cooking, air conditioning when needed plus washer and dryer. The home is comfortable and well decorated with all the extras. The property is lush with foliage and flowering plants. Numerous decks to enjoying morning coffees and then evening sunsets! Loved it!

Beautiful home, stunning views and sunsets, snorkel off the dock and nearby, walk to excellent restaurants along the beach. We had daily visits from hummingbirds and colorful macaws. Easy to flag down a water taxi to go to West Bay or West End. We had a lovely snorkeling outing on the reef in a boat that anchored with us, only $10 each!! We loved it all!! Also, our caretaker Juan Carlos was delightful and always friendly and helpful. The owners were always responsive, and the other support staff were also excellent. We are so happy we chose The Pink Orchid. Also, we didn’t cook much but the kitchen was awesome and equipped with everything you need. Thanks for a delightful vacation!

We loved this property and it's location. We spent most days diving and touring the island, but coming back to the house for the sunsets was one of our favorite activities. Snorkeling in front of the house was awesome and I saw my first octopus, truly special! This house does not disappoint. We rented a car since this was our first visit, but would not rent one again, water taxis and regular taxis are readily available. Thanks again Al and Pam, we will be back!

The view was stunning, the house was pretty, and clean. Nothing else met or exceeded expectations. The description promises a fully equipped home with solar backup, phone, and unlimited internet. Only after you fully pay and it’s not refundable are you fully informed of the limits via email not on the site. You pay 1st world prices and get told you’re in a 3rd world when things don’t go to plan. If you need reliable amenities, don't count on them. I'm so sad and depressed after my stay. I can’t redo my vacation and it’s too precious to risk using a vrbo.
We couldn't find the phone passcode it wasn’t in the book. It was in an email I couldn't access because the internet was out. Kayleen was onsite with the AC guys else we’d had no way to reach out. The NO GUARANTEE of minutes means 0, allows only emergency calls; on day 2 we got 10 minutes added. In Cambodia the hotel provided unlimited phone/internet for free.
We needed internet or would have booked elsewhere. The Internet was cut off because the account credit card expired, not from an outage (my Columbian companion overheard them talking). Things happen; it's how you handle it. The Internet worked 2 hours out of the 6 days. The owner informed me I was in a 3rd world country. I've stayed in 10+ developing countries, had no problem and marvel at how much better, cheaper, and reliable it is to the US. In Thailand it’s $30 for giga bytes. Unlimited access for 2 weeks cost $8 in Honduras.
Anything battery operated was dead. The in-room safe batteries too corroded to work, remotes and alarm fob too, the replacement batteries also corroded. Planned maintenance should be automatically done and not by me.
The power went out 3 out of 5 nights for 9-10 hours at a time; solar only runs auxiliary lights, fridge, and fans and not much else. The description does not mention AC being unusable on solar; it reads like you will have power. You're going to be sweaty, hot, and uncomfortable. In August the rooms are 90+. The nearby hotels never lost internet, AC, or power.
After paying you’re told the snorkel gear is AS-IS it means 1 set of fins with straps, 3 with no straps, two masks with straps 3 with broken straps, 1 working snorkel two that leak. On-demand hot water means only 1 source of use at a time, or you get only cold water. 3 showers and 1 water heater is poor planning. I got 1 hot shower out of 5.
I asked to be moved, that wasn't an option. Just deliver what's promised and not amend after payment.

The Pink Orchid was perfect! All of the pictures and reviews were spot on, and the house was in an awesome location for us between west end and west bay. Diving with Clearwater was great, and we'd highly recommend them for certification/diving. All of the pre-arrival communication was extremely clear and helpful, and we felt like we were in great hands with Al and Pam. They think of every detail, and their house and the views are gorgeous. My only regret was that I didn't listen to Al's advice about cash on the island. I don’t like carrying cash, but it would have been much easier and less stressful if I just brought more cash from home since the ATMs were unreliable and frustrating. It’s all detailed in the pre-trip communications, but I just didn’t listen. Overall thins was one of the most relaxing and fun vacations we’ve had, and we would highly recommend staying Roatan and the Pink Orchid.

Amazing!!!
We had a wonderful time at Pink Orchid in June 2022. The house and surrounding is amazing!!! The house was very clean, well stocked in anything we needed and much more! The porch and covered dock was great! We walked the shore to West Bay and West End during the day, came back using water taxi that stops at Pink Orchid dock (so convenient!) - the location of the house was perfect for our family! And I think there is no other house in the area with such a beautiful view - breathtaking:) We also snorkeled off the dock and rented a kayak for snorkeling a little bit further. There is not even one thing I could complain about:)
The property management was very carrying, informative and responsive.
I highly recommend Pink Orchid house.

Book it now!!
All the reviews that were written before mine are spot on! This place is amazing! Snorkeling right off the dock was sublime, scuba and snorkel at other sites was incredible and house is beyond perfect. The only fault I have is the walks to West End and West Bay. West Bay isn't a bad walk, but walking to the west end is pretty tricky. A decent portion of it is scrambling over rocks - probably not ideal for everyone. My husband has to use a cane that option was definitely out for him. We used a LOT of water taxis... be prepared to spend some money on that. Each trip was 20 bucks at least (5 a person) so we easily spent 40+ a day on water taxis. But after walking on West Bay beach I'd much rather be in this location!! Seriously, if you can find an availability book it now!!

Absolutely Amazing
The Pink Orchid was out of this world!!! The house was well stocked and the view was unbelievable. Can you imagine just snorkeling right off your dock? My entire family and friends loved loved the beautiful water and the ambience of this place. It was so neat to get around with a water taxi called Three Sisters. We had the same person pick us up everyday and bring us on adventures. We snorkeled, saw sea turtles, held monkeys and sloths, jumped off the 2nd level of Happy Harry's Hideaway and ate at Lunas a lot. We even walked along the shore many times. Be sure to bring water socks because of the tides. The owner is great because he is very quick at responding to questions. He even mailed my son's fitbit watch to MN because we forgot it behind the couch. We will definitely be back. Thanks Al

Ideal Roatan Beach Home
Our stay was fantastic. Our kids both got Advanced SCUBA certifications at Los Rocas. I was able to dive with them. My wife enjoyed snorkeling off the dock. My parents enjoyed walking the beach.
Your location is ideal. House was great and well stocked.
We appreciate the opportunity stay there and hope to return again.
Thank you

The perfectly charming island home
This was our third stay in Roatan and our fourth of four different spots. If you are looking for a quiet , private place to stay centred between the energy and eats of West End and the perfect beach of West Bay…. This is it.
The home itself is so well cared for, decorated in a wonderful beach theme.
This was like staying in a good friends home. Well appointed with every appliance you would need, air conditioned to your taste, with the most beautiful gardens and sea views.
We loved every minute here.

Amazing views, relaxing stay
This house is lovely. It is halfway between west bay and west end, just a flagged-down water taxi away from anything you need yet perfect in its serenity & away from it all. Yes, we did fun trips and outings on the island, but by far our favorite times were watching the sunsets from the balcony, cooking in the well appointed kitchen, and snorkeling just out from the dock. A truly relaxing time. Thank you!

Perfect location in Paradise
The location of this property was amazing. We could walk along the beach to two amazing restaurants and could even walk to West Bay if we wanted to or to West end along the beach. Driving to either was only 4-6 mins and the views/sunsets are incredible. A/C units were very cold and the reef (15 min paddle out) was one of the best I've ever snokeled on. We will be back.

Spectacular!
Beautiful, beautiful property on the clear pristine waters of Roatan. Great snorkeling near the dock, and further out on the reef. Communication with owner was prompt with lots of detail and helpful information. The house is beautifully appointed. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

What a View!
My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. The deck overlooking the sea is so worth it. Coffee in the mornings on the lounge chair as all kind of birds and lizards were singing and moving about was wonderful. Having a drink at sunset was another fantastic evening tradition. The snorkeling right off the dock was nice and taking the kayak out a few hundred yards to the bigger reef was a real treat. We really enjoyed the Pink Orchid!

Best view on the island
A cup of Honduran coffee and a phenomenal view of blue-green water shimmering on the coral reef is the perfect way to start any day. That’s where I was with my bible every morning at five am to meditate on the beauty of Gods creation and how blessed I am to experience it.
The Pink Orchid is situated in what seems to be the perfect location to access some of the best the island has to offer, not least of which is a completely unobstructed view of the water. The house is very clean and comfortable with enough room for the family.
Both West End and West bay are an easy and beautiful stroll down the beach in either direction. Having never been to Roatan before, when we started exploring I quickly realized this house is possibly the best place to call home for a week.

another fantastic two weeks
This home has awesome views, unbelievable sunsets, at night the moon shines over the calm ocean like the cover of a romance novel. Fishing, snorkeling, and local visits made this a memorable visit.

Perfect home base in paradise
The Pink Orchid is absolutely perfectly situated on a quiet beach midway between the tourist mecca of West Bay and the more mellow bistros/shopping of West End. We found walking to both easy, although budgeted 20-25 minutes to get to the parts of each we wanted (a little longer than others have estimated). The snorkelling right in front of the house was the most interesting we found in Roatan, with loads of interesting marine life. The deck and hammock are perfect, and the view from inside is also delightful. The house itself is very comfortable, well stocked and well maintained - just what our family of six needed for a relaxing holiday. We enjoyed reading the guest book with recommendations from previous guests, and would say all of them as well as those directly from the owners, were spot on. Thanks to Al and Pam for sharing their island home!

Yes!
You can tell when owners have lived in their rental. There's the little things that make a big difference: clean sponge in the kitchen, full spice rack, extra blankets, etc. And the wrap around porch with the view! Airport pick up + stop at the grocery store on arrival was included. The Pink Orchid is ideally located about a 10 minute walk to West End and 20 minutes to West Bay. Entry to the water from the dock directly in front of the house is sandy, clear, and about chest high for easy access. You'll want a rental car if you aren't booking activities that include transportation. We do an island trip every year and this house suited the five of us perfectly!

Christmas Dive Trip 2019
Great location away from razzmatazz of West Bay and West End. Easy to walk to both however. Management company and owners communicated well and were a pleasure to work with. They were very attentive to our needs. We never did get the TV to connect to the wifii and with the rainy weather that would have been nice. A very minor detail for us as we enjoyed the diving immensely. We dove with Clearwater Adventures on the owner's recommendation. After the storm it took a while for the nice groundskeeper guy to clean up the beach. Lots of debris has washed up. Also, sadly, the island including this property had a lot of plastic trash around. Here, mainly because of the stormy weather. The litter does leave an impression however. Once the weather cleared we were better able to see the beauty of the property and it's landscaping of tropical plants. This garden work seemed unique to the surrounding area and I hope the owners keep planting. The dock and little beach area were private and we enjoyed morning swims from there ending the swim over the coral heads right off the dock.

another wonderful 2 weeks on the island
As expected, the Orchid was clean, well stocked, and very
functional. The locals that the owners recommended were exceptionally friendly, bilingual, and did everything they could to ensure a pleasant stay.

Beautiful home, fabulous location, nice owners. The house and the beautiful surroundings are just as pictured. We will go back to Roatan and when we do, we first will check to see if this house is open before searching anywhere else

Pure pleasure
We stayed at the Pink Orchid for two weeks in early September. What a great view of the ocean from the deck! The property is well stocked from the kitchen to beach chairs and more. We ordered in several wonderful meals from Blackie and Marty. For snorkeling and scuba, be sure to work with Denisse at Clearwater Adventure, just a very short walk down the beach toward West Bay (and she'll also teach you about the culture of the island). We enjoyed walking on the ocean edge to both West Bay and West End, though at high tide, this is a bit of an adventure (you will get your feet wet). Walk down to the cliffs at the end of West Bay and go snorkeling off the beach. It will be some of the best you've ever experienced. There are good restaurants in both West Bay and West End, and the two closest restaurants just down the beach toward West Bay - Ibagari and Lotus - were both excellent. Half way to West Bay, we sat out on the end of the pier and had another great meal and experience. When you walk down to West End, be sure to walk all the way through town and through the circle to the coffee shop/breakfast place (Sorry, can't remember the name). Even past that, its a nice walk and another coffee shop at the end of the town area. For grocery shopping, there are several shops in West End (and almost nothing in West Bay) as well as a shop for fresh produce. All in all, the Pink Orchid was a wonderful place for two weeks to get away. The main down side was going home!

Best Location on the Island
The owners were extremely helpful and attentive. They have a beautiful home to share and their location on the island is perfect.
The reef in front of the house is amazing. We saw lobster, octopus, flounder, huge schools of fish and the coral is vibrant.
We took the water taxi to either west bay or west end during the day, and even had one take us out to the reef further out from the pink orchid instead of using the kayak.
The road transportation connections/relationships that the pink orchid offers deserves more star ratings if I could give more than 5. Marty Wood went above and beyond. We even booked a fishing charter with his son Reagan, Captn R Charters and Tours. Reagan is the fish whisperer. You could tell he knew where and how to catch fish. We caught 2 Mahi Mahi and Tuna. They took us to a resort for a shore lunch where they cooked our tuna for us, and we snorkeled a ship wreck. It was the most memorable day of our trip, and Reagan and Eder’s friendly company made it even more enjoyable.
We found everything to be super easy on the island thanks to the owners and their connections.
Do not hesitate to reserve this vrbo. The accommodations in either west bay or west end are packed with people and music is loud but those locations are fun and easy to visit during the day.

a quiet, beautiful, fun place with so much to do
Friends and I try to get to the Pink Orchid towards the end of every cold dreary winter up here in the Pacific Northwest. On the island the sun, time out fishing, snorkeling, sightseeing, golfing at the Black Pearl, etc. is such a welcome change. Island people are very friendly and accomodating. The staff attending to the Orchid are even more so. Can't say enough good things - we have been down to Roatan many times and hope to return many more.

Beautiful view Enchanting sunsets
The house was very roomy and clean. This section of the west side is quiet. The staff is very helpful. Juan is a hard working man who came by with fresh coconuts and opened them to give us fresh coconut and coconut water. The house is right on a nice beach with a pier to hail water taxis. In a great location between West End and West Bay. If we went back we would definitely try to go back to rent this home

Once again, a beautiful experience!
It is the second time we book the Pink Orchid, and again it met all our expectations. Indeed, the location is great and the view is just amazing.
You benefit from the quietness of the place but only a 10 min walk / 5 min boat ride away from West Bay and West End.
The house is very comfortable and has all the equipment you could need. It provides also some snorkeling equipment and a canoe and paddles.
Barbecuing on the deck is wonderful, and you can choose to eat inside with the comfort of the air conditioning or on the terrace facing the sea.
You can go snorkeling right in front of the house (we saw a little murene eel the other day), or take the canoe and reach the coral reef that is shallow enough to see many many fish without the need of tanks.
If you want to try proper diving, we can recommend you the Denisse dive shop Clearwater just down the beach (very practical!). Denisse is just great with the kids.
Finally, Pamela and Alfred (the owners of the Pink Orchid) were always very responsive and very nice, it was a pleasure to rent from them!
