About this cottage rental
Private, furnished studio cottage (625 sq ft) set in extensive perennial gardens with flowers, stream and waterfalls. Enjoys a view of Foys Lake and surrounding mountains. Elegant hardwood floors. Skylights and stellar window views. Full bath. Full Kitchen. Four mile scenic drive from Kalispell. Easy trip to Glacier National Park. Internet. Electric heat. No smokers / pets.
Guests frequently call this a "sanctuary". It's wrapped in natural sounds of silence, and surrounded by birdsong, the beating sound of dozens of geese taking off from the lake surface, and winds chiming through tree boughs. Deer, raccoons and turkeys roam by and occasionally a small bear, while eagles soar to their nest above.
For winter visitors, we are located equidistant from two ski resorts: Blacktail and Whitefish Mountain - each is less than two dozen miles. For x/c skiers, we're located just 2 miles from Heron Equestrian Park with its extensive trail network and Foys Trail of 26 miles which connects to Blacktail ski resort. When the lake freezes over, a winter delight consists of skiing down to the lake and gliding along on the frozen surface for a brisk cardio loop - no driving necessary.

I needed an affordable place to stay for a short business trip to Kalispell. This had that and much more. Just a peaceful place that made my trip that much more enjoyable.

Beyond Charming
We were delighted with our stay in this incredibly charming bungalow filled with windows and surrounded by gorgeous gardens. The main living/bed room has so many special touches and eclectic decorations I found I was constantly exclaiming as I found different treasures. It was all very comfortable, with club chairs you don't want to leave. The kitchen was easily usable, well stocked, and has some of the best knives I've ever found in a VRBO. The gardens are spectacular and obviously a source of love and pride for the owners - who couldn't be more kind and helpful. Truly a gem of a home!

Nice place for a short stay!
We really enjoyed the cabin! I was hoping it was lakefront property but Foys lake is very close and so beautiful. The gardens surrounding the cabin were also beautiful.

A lovely cozy cottage in a beautiful setting
We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage has more than enough room. Decorated in a very interesting, eclectic style. Lots of natural light. Everything we needed was there. The grounds are gorgeous. Hosts were easy to work with. It is just the right driving distance to Glacier National Park. We spent two days at park and one day exploring Kalispell and its surroundings. Can't say enough good things about the cottage. Loved it. Highly recommend.

Kalispell stay
The house was clean and very well equipped. The garden and waterfall was nice and the owners helpful. If I could change anything I would put up privacy fence or plantings as the deck overlooks the owners house which is very close.

Kalispell Cottage
We enjoyed our recent stay at Foy Cottage in Kalispell. The grounds are beautiful. We found the house well stocked with all we needed. We arrived at a very hot time of the year, and the lack of air conditioning made sleeping rather uncomfortable. We did enjoy eating on the deck each evening. The location Is about 30-45 minutes from Glacier National Park which made it easy to get there the two days we visited the park. Being on a rather long trip, we also appreciated the washer and dryer at the cabin. It was our first visit to this part of the country, and we hope to visit again sometime!

Lovely cottage
We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage has everything you could want. Very well outfitted. Close enough to Glacier National Park to be convenient but far enough away to get away from park crowds. Owners are congenial and helpful.

Lack of privacy
It should be stated in the description that the cottage is directly behind the owner's house. Most of the garden pictures are on her property along with the waterfall. We did not feel comfortable walking around her property. Since there is not air conditioning, it was suggested that we open the windows. When we did that in the evening and at night while we slept there was a high-pitched noise coming from the water system directly behind the cottage. When I texted her to let her know, we were simply told... yes we know that. Yes Mom did it it's a cheeseburger The view of the lake is almost non-existent. You can see a bit of it through the trees. With the closeness of the owner's house and her sheds right beside our deck, we will not be returning to the cottage on our next visit.

Retreat
Beautiful, awesome, serene and a treat. We visit this area often and wish we had discovered this VRBO years ago. It could have avoided all of those boring hotel stays. You know it was good if you feel refreshed and rejuvenated when leaving!

Scenery abounds
We thoroughly enjoyed the whole atmosphere of this cottage.
A few suggestions--
Have a simple fan for the living area--just to move air around
Fix the screen door into kitchen--needs some oiling or whatever
A bit of a problem with wifi
Thanks so much.

lovely place
Very good experience. The cottage was lovely and the gardens were so beautiful. The owners were very nice and they provided everything a person could need (even an extra flashlight when a spectacular Montana thunder storm killed the power for awhile)
Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Peaceful and quiet
The cottage was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Lovely views from every window. Absolutely amazing garden. Out in the country but only a 10 minute drive into town. About an hour drive to Glacier Park. Lots to do in the area but just staying put and relaxing in garden was pure delight. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay and hope to return.

The cottage and grounds are fantastic! Windows do need blinds, shades, or darkening curtains.
The cottage and grounds are fantastic! Windows do need blinds, shades, or darkening curtains for privacy and to keep the morning sun out. It is a truly beautiful setting and cottage.

Probably good for 2
The location of the house was nice, quiet, and conveniently located to Glacier.
Being a family of 4, I do not feel it's accurate to describe this listing being suitable for 4 people. The main bed was comfortable but the second sleeping arrangement is an old (practically broken) pull out. After almost throwing my back out getting it open it was so uncomfortable that we ended up folding it back. The first night we tried having one kid sleep on each couch. However, the pull out couch was so old and lumpy that it did not offer a sleepable surface. In fact that kid ended up falling on the floor because the cushions wouldn't stay in place. Therefore, we ended up having one kid sleep with us, which resulted in no one sleeping well during our stay.
Because of this, although we had booked 7 nights, we left after 4. We let the owner know we left and explained why. She offered to bring a futon over, but at that point we had already made arrangements to head home early. To be honest, we were slightly frustrated with the inaccurate listing of the rental being suitable for 4, and didn't feel like trying something else out at that point.
There is no dishwasher, which we knew when we booked the property. However, when we arrived some of the silverware and plates still had food residue on them from whoever has staid before us. Therefore we started the trip washing a set of silverware and dishes that we then used. Also the tv service was not working while we were there. The owner did try to fix it but wasn't able to doing our stay. Neither was the best way to start our vacation. Compounded with the sleeping situation, it wasn't the relaxing getaway we had planned to cap off our road trip.
I was disappointed that the owner did not offer us a partial refund, seeing that we only staid 4 of the 7 nights. In my opinion that would have been the right thing to do.

My wife and I flew in from NC, and it was late when we arrived. Lora was very kind and gracious to meet us at the gate of the property to let two tired travelers in for a good nights sleep. Our goal was to do as much hiking as possible in nearby Glacier National Park in 6 days. The cottage is about 45 minutes from the West Entrance of the Park. We were up each morning enjoying the sunrise out of the cottage windows and view of beautiful flowers and Foy's Lake. The cottage had all of the amenities we needed to rest and rejuvenate when we returned in the evenings. The community surrounding Foy's Lake is unique and quaint. The cottage is secure and private. Would certainly recommend this property to others looking to enjoy this beautiful and breathtaking area of Montana!

My husband and I stayed at this property for over a week and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. It was amazing and absolutely beautiful with an amazing garden and breathtaking views of the lake in the distance. Lora and her husband were the perfect hosts and very pleasant to talk with. We would recommend this property in a heartbeat and we will be going back again to stay, hopefully sooner than later. Thanks for the hospitality and the use of your beautiful cottage.

Nicely equipped place and the owners are very accommodating.
The website does say its a one bedroom cabin but its actually a studio but still spacious enough.

The cottage was outstanding, every thing needed was available. Scenic beauty of Western Montana was all aound the area and close to the center of Kalispell. Anyone looking for a quite, peaceful, and conveniently located place to stay on your trip to Montana should consider the cottage at Foy’s Lake!

Cute little place with all the necessities. Lora was very sweet & has thought of everything that you might need. Our only complaint was that it didn't have air conditioning but, it did cool down at night. Overall, we had a great stay!

We called Lora once we got to town and she was waiting for us to open the gate to the property. Our GPS took us right to the property and we recognized house marker from the VRBO listing. We were blown away by the beauty of the property. Everything was just as it looked on the VRBO website and maybe even better. The lake you can see through the trees is just beautiful as well. Lora was very nice any time we had a question. The cottage was very neat and clean. The sheets on the bed were so soft but the bed was a little firm as we are use to a somewhat softer bed. Over all, the location was great and easy to find. We were concerned about not having air conditioning as we knew we would be there the warmest time of the season, but it was very comfortable. We used this location to base our travels to Glacier National Park and all the other sites to see around Kalispell. It was perfect. It was so easy to get to and from with no traffic headaches. This was a wonderful place and we were very pleased with our stay!
