We recently returned from a wonderful weeklong stay at this truly special property. We had a party of 8 people. My husband, myself, our 4 adult sons (ages 22-34) and two of the boys' girlfriends. We were warmly welcomed by our host Clay upon arrival with a detailed tour of the house and property. Clay's parents, Doug and Linda are the owners and they live next door. Their warmth and hospitality is reflected everywhere on the property. Since they were close by it was easy to ask questions if we needed them. They were super responsive.
As far as the basics (which are super important for a rental): Beds and bedding were very comfortable and of high quality. Towels and beach towels were also abundant and of high quality. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of dishes, pots. pans, knives, cutlery and glasses (both glass and plastic). All the appliances were in excellent condition. The nearby small town of Polson was a short drive away and had all the supplies we needed.
All that said, the very best part of the house was the covered patio, backyard and lakefront dock and of course, the lake! We enjoyed spectacular views from morning til night. We ate all our meals outside, either on the covered patio or by the lake. We all took advantage of the myriad of "toys" plus enjoyed the sauna and hot tub as well. It was incredibly relaxing--like staying at your own private resort. The lake is stunning with crystal clear water. Although it was supposedly a busy time of year, it was very quiet with no boat or jet ski traffic to speak of. The serenity of the property was enhanced Linda's (Clay's mom) beautiful English garden and the sound of the waterfall it contained. The garden was adorned by the very special birdhouses built by Clay's dad, Doug.
We have stayed at many great VRBO properties, but the whole family agreed that this was one of our very best experiences and we hope to return to enjoy it again!

We can not say enough great things about this property. It is very spacious inside and out. We spent most of our time outside ... on one of the many water toys (paddle boards, kayaks, peddle boats), on our own ski boat that we safely docked for the week at the house, fishing with the fishing equipment provided, enjoying a fire in the fire pit and making s'mores, playing yard games on the beautifully manicured lawn, star gazing, or just relaxing and reading. There are lots of fun amenities inside as well, but the weather was so amazing and there was so much to do that we were never inside, except to cook and sleep.

Outstanding Property and Hosts
The Wold Lodge is located with fantastic lake and mountain views and is equipped unbelievably well for the enjoyment of all age groups from young children to grandparents! We had a wonderful time and my entire family did not want to leave! Doug and Linda were terrific hosts and worked tirelessly on their beautiful gardens and to ensure our enjoyment!

Family Re-union Sized
Doug Wold, and his family were the perfect hosts. Doug showed me how to use the smoker, and told me where I could buy local brisket. We made a fantastic brisket, and fed our whole group with it. There was room for three couples on the upper level, ( one of the couples had two pre-schoolers with them) and three more downstairs. We also had two other couples, who stayed in motels, join us, and there was more than ample room for everyone. The amenities are far too many to list here.
After driving through all of the smoke from the Western wildfires, a couple of short rainshowers cleared the skies for us, and showed us why Montana is called Big Sky Country. We want to come back, and probably will. September on the Lake is wonderful, and so is this place.

Family Reunion
Beautiful lake front property that is well equipped with all essentials for a relaxing stay. Showing some wear but areas of exception for us included the hot tub sauna & swim spa for the teens and the large covered patio with seating for our group of 15 for every meal. The patio has a beautiful view of the lake & gardens and a ceiling fan absolutely priceless for the high temperatures during our stay. We loved our stay!

This house is set up so well for kids. Many nice onsite amenities; pool, hot tub,rafts, paddle boards, watercraft and a great boat dock with slides and swing. House is very well appointed and can handle large family groups. Owner /manager was very accommodating. We would return.

Wonderful Property
This property is better than advertised. Honestly, you have to see it to appreciate it. The pictures don't do it justice. This was the perfect retreat for my family. Everything you might want or need plus some is included in the cabin. The owners are wonderful people and easy and enjoyable to deal with. We thought about coming back immediately next year but the property was already booked. So ... don't delay if you are thinking about it. Wonderful location - close to Polson and Stores. The view of the Lake and Mountains are outstanding. There is something for everyone and every age at this Lake house. When we got here the owner said one thing ... "Have fun" ... and we did!

Perfect family vacation
Our family ranging from ages 69-4 thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and this house and it’s amenities were great!! In our opinion, best views on the lake!! We really enjoyed the kayaks, SUP, and rafts! We spent the majority of our day on the dock and the kids loved the swing and slide. We used the fire pit everyday. The pool and hot tub were also a hit for the kiddos! Doug and Linda were the best hosts!!! We will definitely be returning to their beautiful lake resort home!

Simply Amazing
There’s so many good things to say about this property I’m not really sure where to start. My family loves to play ping-pong and Doug went out of his way to make sure that we had a ping pong table to play on. Every amenity you could think of was available the back deck is covered so even when it was raining you could still be outside and enjoy the view of the lake. The grounds are so well thought out and you can certainly tell that they are master gardeners. There’s something for everyone here. We rented a pontoon boat and their dock was more then accommodating. Despite the fact that the weather was not the best in the second week of August which was really highly unusual we all still had a wonderful time and would rent this property again

We can't say enough good about this property. It is plenty big for big parties and literally has everything you could ever need. Doug and Linda are kind as can be and right next door. Our whole family keeps raving about how it was the best family reunion we've ever had. We have big kids and little kids and adults of all ages.

The property was well landscaped with a beautiful patio and dock with amazing views there was plenty of room for everyone to do different activities all at the same time, the kitchen was a little tight and set up funny for that many guests but all in all everyone had a fantastic trip and would recommend this property and others that this owner also has to anyone.

Best vacation ever!
This place is amazing. So very comfortable for a large group with so many thoughtful touches. All the rooms were quiet and set up for families. The decks, kitchen, and tables made time together a pleasure. The gorgeous gardens, outside cooking and fire pit were a delight along with perfect weather, beautiful views and water play. But mostly, we appreciated Doug and Linda’s welcoming attitude towards a large family group. It made our time so very good! We will certainly come back!

A memorable stay on Flathead Lake!
We spent a wonderful week at this lovely property. The house was more than we expected and the Wolds were so accommodating and welcoming to our entire family. The house provides every amenity and the lake front area was a vacationers dream. Kayaks, paddle boat, slide and swing were icing on the cake. Our entire family (all 13 of us) will never forget this week on Flathead Lake thanks to this lovely propery!

For a summer time getaway for a group, this place is tops!!! Doug is super nice to work with. We had our family reunion here with a total of 37 people. Bedrooms were full, but we also had a tent for some of the boys and some of the teenagers slept in hammocks.(just beware of the sprinklers in the middle of the night!) We cooked and ate out on the lovely deck. The griddle down by the deock worked awesome for pancakes, bacon, hash browns, etc. The landscaping is so beautiful! And so is the view of the water and mountains! There are kayaks and a paddle boat and lots of life jackets. The little kids spent hrs on them! Definitely would return here again for a relaxing , beautiful time!!! Thanks Doug & Linda for Sharing your place!
