We enjoyed our stay very much. The house could use a few items, but I would say it is as described in the listing. The seating throughout the house could use updating. The couch in the living room is very uncomfortable almost unable to use. We had 8 people and we fit well. The bunkbeds are very noisy and we ended up moving one kiddo to the couch.
We loved fishing on the dock and watching the ponies.
We were unable to use the kayak because it had baby birds in it.
Overall, we very much enjoyed our time on the island! Hope to return again!

We loved staying at this property. Every morning we woke up to breathtaking views of the lighthouse across the bay.
At least once a day if not more often we were able to see 1-2 bands of horses across the bay.
The kids were amazed that we could set crab traps off the pier and we all enjoyed checking the traps to see what we caught.
Can’t wait to visit again!!

Great stay, as advertised

This spot was exactly what we needed. With 6 people, sometimes even if a listing says it sleeps 6 there’s not really enough room for everyone to hang out without getting on each others nerves. This listing definitely had enough room for all of us not just to sleep, but also to have room for all of us to spread out the one day that it rained while we were there.
The view was amazing and the property was close to everything while being in a quiet area.
A well stocked kitchen (the only thing I couldn’t find was a pitcher to use for lemonade - everything else was there!) and a list of all the best places to go on the island made everything a breeze.
Thank you for a great week!!

We had a very nice time in Chincoteague over Spring Break and the house was great. We enjoyed being by the water and my kids fished and crabbed off the dock. We could see the wild ponies from the house and dock in the distance. We hope to return again soon. The area the house is located is peaceful and quiet.

While the weather didn't exactly cooperate, we had a super, off-season weekend stay at the townhouse. First, the host is excellent with communication. We had a couple of hiccups and he responded immediately. The kitchen is ideal for cooking-with-a-view. There were just 2 of us, so we can't comment on other beds, but the master king bed slept well...and the view from the top floor balcony is lovely. (So much so, that we bundled up and made sure to have our morning coffee there, even in the cold!) Reliable internet (March Madness!), too. We rented bikes, since the wind wasn't ideal for kayaking, and cruised nearly 50 miles in a couple of days around the island & Assateague. (The townhouse is perfectly located to access the park.) Cannot recommend Rich & Chincoteague Bike Shop enough! Birding, biking, great sleeps & hosts, along with a wonderful kitchen in which to make lump fin crab cakes....who could ask for anything more?!!

We enjoyed our stay in this house very much. The location is beautiful and close enough to everything to be very handy but far enough to feel peacefully isolated. The kitchen was a big part of our stay and made our meals much more enjoyable than most of our meals out. The bar chairs were a little odd feeling and are probably getting past their IKEA lifespans, but the backyard screened in porch, and front-yard table gave us nice options to gather. We also enjoyed sitting on the pier and upstairs balcony. Scott and Beth's recommendations on where to get produce and local seafood were solid, and we agreed with their honest assessment of dining out in Chincoteague. Use the kitchen and local seafood place as much as you can!
The master bedroom was beautiful and clean, and the balcony has a view across the street to the pier and bayside marshes, including the lighthouse. Those who are light sensitive might want a mask. There are blackout curtains, but the lighthouse goes all night, of course, and some light pulses around the curtain as the lighthouse turns.
The queen bedroom was also very nice with a lovely view out the window. The bunk room would be great for young kids, but is a little less satisfying for an adult. It shares a bathroom with the queen room. We didn't use the loft, but it is up a vertical metal ladder out of the bunk room. I wouldn't have wanted to stumble up and down it in the middle of the night.
We made a point of getting up early to watch sunrises, which I highly recommend. On hot August days, the early hours are both less-traveled-by, and cooler. The Assateague Island sunrises were spectacular and just a short drive away. We alternated with sunrises on the pier across the street. Lots of birds to watch, and a beautiful view. The house across the street probably puts food out for the Canadian geese and ducks, because they gather there everyday. Fun to watch them fly in and out at sunrise and sunset. They also slow the traffic down... sometimes to a crawl or stop, as they would take over the road.
The weather was very hot and muggy during our stay, so the central AC was very comforting. The front room was a very enjoyable place to sit, look out the windows, and talk with family in the hot afternoons. The backyard grill is a Green Egg that has perhaps seen too many renters misuse it, but it did the job after a little work cleaning it up. Perfect for our small group of four.
Overall, we had a great stay and would gladly return!

Eastside road townhouse
This is a lovely and comfortable property with lots of amenities including a well equipped kitchen. We loved the view over the marshes to the lighthouse. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. A big thrill was watching a 5:30 am rocket launch from the NASA facility at Wallops Island.

Wonderful family vacation spot!
We booked this as a last-minute trip after other plans fell through, and it was amazing. The views out of almost every room are amazing, and we got out on the kayak every day. Scott was super-responsive and quickly solved a minor problem. The pass for Assateague was a bonus! We’ve loved Chincoteague in the off-season, and we’ll be back!

Beautiful Townhome - Perfect Location
This townhome was beautiful and in a perfect setting. The internet was down while we stayed but the owner was working on it. We had a great time without the internet. We were in town for a high school reunion and everything was perfect.

Enjoyable Stay
We had another enjoyable week of vacation at lovely Chincoteague. The house worked well for our family of 5 adults (2 couples and a single). There is a beautiful view from the 3rd floor balcony. The use of the kayak was nice and the dock not too far of walk. I can't think of anything we lacked as far as the kitchen. The front door lock was not one of those boring put in a key and turn to lock it types - it required a certain amount of finesse and skill to get it to latch. Those in my family with less patience just went out the back door - which worked just fine.

Excellent Family Getaway
Wonderful home, very clean and spacious for our family of 6. We loved the fishing and the kayak. The beach pass was a great perk as well. We are grateful for the opportunity to have such a nice getaway with our family. Thank you!!

Fabulous home in a beautiful location!
We had a great stay in this beautiful home! From the moment we booked, the host was responsive and a pleasure to work with. Everything about the accommodations were exactly as advertised, and more.
The views were spectacular! A great deal of natural light, comfortable furnishings, a spacious home and all of the amenities needed for a convenient, wonderful stay.
Having the use of the kayak, crabbing supplies, dock access, and beach pass made this the perfect retreat!

Picturesque View
Lovely property with magnificent view of Assateague Island. Open floor plan promotes fluid conversation with others and views extend fully to back of home. Owner was great with questions before we left. Use of tandem Kayak was the draw for us and ease of access to water just across road. Magical quiet retreat for us.

Great Place to Stay, Will Definitely Return
My family and I had a wonderful vacation. The house was clean and spacious. The first floor was great for family gatherings but the house is big enough that everyone had their privacy too. It's in a great location, you are a short drive to the restaurants and shops in town without the traffic and noise of the main streets. My husband and son spent a lot of time fishing and crabbing from the dock, there's a bike rental shop within walking distance and the park is a 5 minute bike ride away.

Miss it already, wish we didn’t have to leave!
Property owner was so nice and so helpful, and easy to get in contact with. The house was beautiful, the dock was very nice also, we enjoyed crabbing and fishing. Great location to town and the beach, will definitely rent from Scott again the next time we come to chincoteauge.

Beautiful views and peaceful getaway
The property was perfect for our family, lots of space and gathering places large enough for our group of 6+2 infants. Beautiful views and quiet setting, we saw the ponies from our windows most mornings.

Comfortable home near the water
Scott is an excellent, welcoming and responsive host -- we could not have hoped for better. The home is well equipped and very comfortable. Our only concern is the the online listing does not accurately present the setting. The photos do not show the road and the house between the house and the water, which was an unpleasant surprise for us upon arrival. But the view is still stunning and the house has many amenities, including a good double kayak, many games, and decent bikes. We had a lovely weekend and the cost of the rental is very fair for the quality of accommodation.

Open set up and super responsive owner!
My girlfriend and I visited the island at the beginning of March, so it was still pretty chilly, but Scott helped me plan our stay, answering all of my questions so I could get in our "must-do's" while there. He was extremely responsive to all of my messages. The property is 3 stories, 4 to the top because it is up off the ground. The views were amazing.
They had a bit of remodeling going on and the painters left some tarps out which we rolled up and placed againsta wall, but other than that the place was very clean. Beds are totally comfy (a plus because I rented one where the beds were AWFUL one time) and the space is very open. Make sure you bring extra pillows and covers if there will be a packed house, the pillow selection is pretty small and you need all your own sheets. I'm a pillow person and managed to get one of my own pillows packed in my suitcase (I flew in from CO), so since it was just the two of us it worked out but we had to go get some extra pillow cases when we arrived. I understand this is a norm for a lot of places so they don't have to send someone in to clean sheets but it was the only annoying thing about the stay.
Wonderful set up, AWESOME owner, we had an amazing time!

Too mellow?
If you don’t mind being on your own completely (including when something with the rental goes awry). then this place is good for you. Decent location, nice house, furniture and screen doors are a bit worn. Could use a better cleaning team prior to check in.

Beautiful house and views
Property was exactly as described. lovely water and lighthouse views. could see the ponies grazing from the front porch. Scott answered every question i asked leading up to our visit within an hour. Great hosts and I highly recommend this house and i hope to book it again in the future!
*side note if you want to eat dinner at AJ's on the Creek make a reservation, place books fast*
*second side note, bring bug spray, mosquitoes were bad all over the island during our visit*

Beautiful view and great place for a larger group!
We stayed here with friends who have little kids. The house layout was perfect for all 6 of us. We had dinner every night in the house and really enjoyed the screened in dining area. We walked down to the playground nearby, crabbed off the dock and enjoyed using the kitchen and sitting area. The bedrooms were really nice - and the media room on the second floor was perfect for our rainy days. We loved it here and would highly recommend it!!

Beautiful Location!
Great stay. Beautiful location. Place was great for a family. Glad I read reviews and brought towels for the kitchen. Loved the house. The master bedroom was very modestly decorated, but the deck and view was outstanding. The only issue was that I booked one place on vrbo but was switched to the unit next door. So the description was not completely accurate. However, I think the switch ended up being good for our family. The living room was a great place for us to spend time together. Loved the week and want to go back already.

Great relaxing experience
Wonderful home in a perfect location on the island. You could see the lighthouse and the ponies grazing on Assateague everyday. It was easy to bike all over the island from the home. We enjoyed the kayak as well. Very clean and spacious for our family of five. Owner was quick to respond to any questions.

Nice stay in June
We had a nice stay at this house. It was 4 adults and 3 kids and there was plenty of space (although one more couch would have made the living room the perfect size for our group). The communication with the host was excellent and he was very quick to respond to any questions. The house was very clean and the kids loved looking through all the DVDs. I will clarify that based on the description, we didn't realize the water / dock was actually across the street from the house. Luckily, the street wasn't very busy and the view was still great.

Great modern getaway with beautiful views
We had a fantastic time at the rental! I loved waking up to beautiful views of the bay in the morning, and the layout of the house was perfect for our family. The modern kitchen with open concept design was fantastic as well. We even managed to see a few wild horses during our trip! We'd love to come back again.

Great view of the lighthouse!
Loved the view of the lighthouse! Almost everything was good, we did have to provide our own sheets, so we had to allow room for that in our luggage on the plane. I didn't like that there were no curtains or blinds in the living room area. This meant we couldn't hang out down there after dark because it was too creepy knowing that anyone from outside would have a clear view in. Oven wasn't working and kept beeping at random times. We didn't need it because we ate all our meals out, but the beeping was annoying. All in all, it was a good place to stay in a great location on the island.

Fun townhouse for a family!
The layout was great for extended family get together! The kayak was so much fun! The dock is across the street from the house and we paddled all over!
Things to know: bring your own towels, sheets, dish towels and oven mitts. We had to go buy some when we got there. Also bring your own pillows if you are picky like me. The pillows are getting worn out!
The oven was unfortunately broken so we had to improvise. Scott responded quickly but couldn’t get it fixed before we left! Also the washer and dryer are missing the knobs but they are still usable!
The loft area was a big hit with our grandson. He loved climbing up and down the ship’s ladder. Eating on the screened in porch was delightful. The sounds of birds at breakfast was so nice.
The house has a great layout but it needs some work. For a few days vacation it works! Thank you Scott!

Great spot on the Island
My family traditionally visits Chincoteague every summer. This property is the best bang for the buck we have encountered thus far. The house is laid out nicely for 4 adults and 2 kiddos, especially when it comes to privacy. It also has some nice modern touches. We caught 20+ keepers off the pier, and had a wonderful crab fest :) I will definitely be booking this property next visit.

Peaceful
Scott and Beth were great!! My wife and I had a great stay in Chincoteague and the house location was perfect. We had one issue and Scott got back right away. The views we had from the home were great. The kayak was great. If you have not been to the island and looking for a great get a way this is the place. If you are looking for clubs and nightlife go some place else. People were nice. Weather was great. What else is there to say. Great beach destination.
Thank you Scott and Beth
