Let me start buying thanking Oscar for OUTSTANDING COMMUNICATION. Top tier guy. The cabin. The view. The location. Perfect if you’re looking to getaway from the chaos of city life. Unfortunately, we got rained out and couldn’t check out the fire pit or the hike and its beautiful view. It was clean, warm and very inviting when you walk in. Fire up the fireplace. Grab a beer and enjoy the atmosphere. Words can’t express the peace you feel being up here. Do yourself a favor. Book this cabin. You won’t regret it!

My wife and I got away for our one year anniversary and this mountain hideaway was the perfect place to celebrate. The cabin itself is cozy and surrounded with beautiful views. We enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings and the sunset was gorgeous.
You’re also in a great location to enjoy the variety North Carolina has to offer from the Biltmore to Chimney Rock to Asheville to Lake Lure.
Oscar (guest services) was responsive and over communicated critical things to help us enjoy our stay.
Highly recommend this place and hoping like crazy we can come back again soon!

I booked this trip as a last trip before my wife and I had our first baby. We had an awesome time relaxing at the cabin and enjoying the scenery!

First off just so its known, when you rent this cabin...you are only renting the appartment downstairs. The homeowner lives on top, which they may or may not be there. So I was alittle taken back when I found out we didnt have the whole cabin. I didnt catch that part on the description. My fault I guess...
With that being said, Im glad we still went because the small appartment was still very clean and cozy. We never saw the homeowner so we weren't sure if they were home or not. The main part I missed was being able to walk right outside onto the deck. It would have been nice to sip my morning coffee on the decks but we still had a nice view underneath the decks. The leaves were a beautiful color and we loved the seclusion. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars was because the kitchen pots and pans were scratched up and food would stick in the pots when used. There were also no bowls to mix in. If you cook like I do, you need glass or plastic mixing bowls, not soup bowls. Maybe add more than one measuring cup as well. Make sure if you do intend to cook meals and have left overs, take your own ziplock bags or containers to use. Overall we had a very good time.

We went for our 18th anniversary and the place was amazing. Awesome view of the mountains from the cabin. A nice big fire pit overlooking the valley below and the mountains in the distance is where we spent our evenings. I highly recommend this property.

Clean, quiet, and cozy cabin. Well-maintained outdoor space with nice view and a fire pit. About 20 minutes from Chimney Rock State Park where we spent the morning hiking and the afternoon eating and exploring the touristy downtown.
The cabin is a bit out of the way. Oscar provided helpful directions and recommended a great short hike closer to the cabin for our second morning. Great spot and a great trip!

Beautiful area and home! Would love to wake up to that view every day! The only real issue we had was the mattress not being overly comfortable, which was addressed with the manager.

My family was so relaxed at the beautiful surroundings around the cabin from the Frog Pond, landscaping, cricket sounds at night and amazing sunsets.
We hiked to Eagle Rock for a wonderful view and also did hikes in Chimney Rock State Park such as a waterfall hike.
The cabin was cozy, clean and well decorated. Oscar, the cabin manager was so helpful with giving fantastic guidance and help when we needed it. Highly recommend this wonderful and relaxing cabin.

My experience with VRBO and Evolve were not great . The cabin and views are spectacular. The property manager Oscar is wonderful and very attentive. Great place to chill and really relax. Our dog Ansel loved it. The fishing in the pond across from the cabin was great. My husband had a blast catching and then releasing of course the small mouth bass. Would definitely recommend and definitely return. Give it a 👍👍👍👍😄😄😄😄

This was the perfect space for our family of four and dogs. The view and yard is gorgeous! We woke up and had coffee on the porch every morning and enjoyed the peaceful scenery. It was no more than 30 minutes from all the hiking and activities that we planned for the weekend.
The space was very clean and well maintained. We would definitely stay here again.

The cabin was perfect. Clean, secluded, quiet and peaceful. You will be able to relax and let you cares roll away. The cabin is up near the top of the mountain. A gorgeous view, wind whistling through the trees and the perfect little cabin. The 3 room cabin is all you will need for a couple or even two other friends with you. It is extremely clean and has all you need to spend solitude with your spouse or friends. You will need 4wheel drive/all wheel drive. The gravel road leading to the cabin has its ups and downs. Lots of winding roads leading to the turnoff to the cabin. A beautiful ride itself. Towns are not that far away to visit and get supplies you need to cook, if thats what you choose to do. The little towns around also have wonderful places to eat. Go, enjoy and spend time with yourself in nice quiet, peaceful solitude high up in the cabin.

Property is the spot for peace and solitude! Wonderful well-kept and attentive to details. So obvious that a tremendous amount of effort has been placed on the guest experience. The kitchen is well equipped and stocked will essentials.
Wonderful place to quietly soul search and recharge!

The cabin is very cozy and wonderfully equipped with everything one needs. We liked it’s cleanliness. We fell in love with the view.
The privacy and tranquility comes with a cost, though. The cabin is located at the end of a one half mile gravel road and a 4 wheel drive vehicle is required to access it during some weather conditions, and it is not for people who go and come frequently. We have a 4 wheel drive SUV and left for an entire day of hiking, so this was not a problem for us.
Overall, it is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Property was very clean, all the amenities we needed, beautiful area with great views and relaxing.
Oscar did a great job and was very thorough about how to get to the cabin, access to the cabin, what's available, etc.
It is a little ways out from Asheville (roughly 50 min) with a lot of winding rounds. But, I think the trade off of being in the mountains and a little more secluded/peaceful was worth it. Nice local restaurants within 30 min of property and a lot of hiking easily within 1 hour.

We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and chose this cabin/property as we love being in the mountains. The property was breathtaking! We were amazed at the location as well as the beautiful landscaping! The cabin was perfect for the two of us and our small dog - very clean, comfortable, cozy and charming. Oscar was wonderful at providing us with directions, instructions and suggestions for places to see in the area. He was very responsive and helpful! Chimney Rock and Lake Lure are close and a must see...one of our favorite areas. Also, definitely make plans to go into the town of Black Mountain - quaint, great shops and restaurants. DuPont State Park is also a must see - beautiful waterfalls and driving through the town of Hendersonville was an added bonus. It is important to factor in your drive time when planning to leave the cabin as 25 miles is about a 45 minute drive - but you will have some of the most beautiful scenery as you drive! Also, have a good idea of the area you are traveling to as we sometimes were not able to get cell reception when driving off of the mountain. It was such a wonderful time and we were so disappointed we had to leave! We hope to be come back! Thanks Oscar for everything and providing such a stunning area for us to unwind and relax for our special occasion!

Gorgeous house in the mountain in secluded area
Full comfort, all details are meticulously thought through by owner and manager to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. And you are at the top of the hill with amazing Mountain view, wooded property on the hill with stairs, fire place, smal waterfalls. Wanted to stay forever.

#46 Frog Pond Cabin
Everything from booking to check in was very easy. Oscar was very nice and made sure we were very informed about the property, rules, location, amenities and much more. His familiarity with the property and roads was right on point. When we thought we were lost I called and he k ew exactly where I was and have excellent directions. His recommendation to hike to Eagle Rock (including directions) was greatly appreciated. If it is allowed I would recommend a small sign at Shumont and Old Bear Mountain Rd pointing the way to Frog Pond Way.

Peaceful & Secluded
We enjoyed the seclusion of the cabin location. The view of the mountains while listening to the stream was perfect tranquility! Escaping the heat of the weather back home is exactly what I was hoping for during our stay. I wrapped up in a blanket each morning & enjoyed my coffee on the porch. The property is absolutely beautiful. We built a fire each night, enjoying a glass of wine, while watching the sunset.
Oscar was great to work with, making sure we had all the necessary information to access the property upon arrival, along with other helpful info. I appreciated the phone call from Oscar, prior to our travel. It definitely added a personal touch.
I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful get away. I’ll definitely stay here again in the future 😊

Amazing Views!
Had a great long weekend at Frog Pond Cabin with my husband and pup. Cabin is comfortable and well-appointed, though the mattress is a bit soft for our preference. It's a little more secluded than we were expecting but if you're after peace and quitet, this is the perfect spot.

This place is awesome if you're okay with it being off the beaten path and you want some beautiful views! I loved how secluded we felt yet a very cute town was about 15 minutes away. Would definitely come back and stay in the fall, as I bet the trees are absolutely stunning!

Best Vrbo Experience
Frog Pond Cabin was an incredible time. After staying a week, I can say it was our most enjoyable Vrbo yet. Although it’s off the beaten path, you may find yourself never wanting to leave the spot once arriving. The scenery was beautiful, the food in surrounding areas was immaculate. Mountain views, fireplace were so amazing. Oscar provides such a cozy feel to the cabin and truly is a great host. I wish more Vrbo owners were on standby and provided such beautiful accommodations like this one. We can’t wait for our next stay here again!! Thanks Oscar!
