About this cabin rental
Make my home your home for your get away, and enjoy relaxation and time together. The outdoors off my back deck, the trails nearby, and ribbons of paved black top are your gateway to the Black Hills.
Looking for someplace to call home when getting away from it all? Old No. 7 Place has everything you need for a weekend getaway, family vacation, or adventure-filled holiday. We are just minutes from all of the Northern Hills attractions.
As you wind up my private drive you will cast your eyes on my 5-bedroom 5-bath true log home nestled among the pine and the aspen. All linens and paper goods are supplied - simply pack your toiletries and groceries and let me take care of the rest. the warm, dry basement is even stocked with cut firewood for the 2 wood burning fireplaces.
The MAIN LEVEL features an impressive great room spotlighting an inviting wood burning fireplace and a 30’ wall of windows overlooking the Black Hills National Forest. You will love cooking and laughing with your entire group in our kitchen. There’s room for everyone in our spacious, well-equipped kitchen - you won’t want for anything. The dining room will seat all 14 of you at once so you can enjoy your meals together. A window seat provides extra dining room seating, a place to enjoy a beverage while overlooking the forest , or reading a book. The tile floors are also heated. The master suite is its own getaway with a king sized Sleep Number bed, another wood fireplace, large walk-in double shower and soaking tub with a view. You also have direct access to the hot tub. There’s a laundry / mud room to store all of your "stuff" and keep it out of sight during your stay. A powder room is convenient for all guests. For those who don't do stairs, we have all amenities on one level. Relax in the seclusion of my log home, taking in the serene wilderness as you hear the wind whistle through the trees or laze before the wall of windows taking pleasure in a crackling wood fire.
The UPPER LEVEL has 2 more bedrooms with a shared bath. There is a lot of flexibility in sleeping arrangements in case Mom & Dad need to be near little ones - one room is a queen bed and the other has 2 XL twin beds that can convert to a king bed. The loft boasts so much space with a reading spot, a game table and a TV room with more games, movies and books. There’s an additional powder room for the loft area that works great if the full bath on that floor is occupied. Fun, fun, fun is the name of the game up here.
The pride and joy of the LOWER LEVEL is the log bunk room! With two built-in bunks holding 2 twin beds each and a double bed connected to them it is the most unique room of my home. What a great hideout for the kids (BIG OR SMALL) on your trip, or maybe a retreat for the single people in your group. Another bedroom with a queen sized bed shares a full bath with a double vanity. For movie enthusiasts, there is a big screen TV with home theater in the family room. Not your typical cold basement, the entire lower level has heated floors in the colder months.
The spacious deck, spanning the entire length of my home, is perfect for entertaining day or night. Soak in the hot tub while enjoying a cup of morning coffee while you watch the sun crest the mountaintop horizon or after of day of adventures. And ohhh, the STARS, you've never seen so many stars at night. Host your summer outdoor meals while overlooking the vast scenery in which our home is located. I’m sure you’ll catch a glimpse of some wildlife any time of year.

The house is well designed to handle a large family gathering. With 5 bedrooms and 3 living areas there was plenty of room to spread out and come together. The property itself is secluded in the back of a large neighborhood. We saw wildlife every day. The house was clean, well stocked and the sleep number king size bed was dreamy

There is nothing to say about the entire experience except that it was terrific. We had the idea of a surprise 50th-anniversary trip for our parents, families, and kids. Everything we imagined for this trip came to fruition; a large part was this cabin. It was bigger, nicer, and had more amenities than any expectations we could've had. Wood-burning fireplaces, fully stocked wood, attached garage, laundry, huge kitchen, large bedrooms with great bedding and pillows, bordering US forest service public land. This is the place you have in your head when thinking of a cabin in your head! Communication by the host was great. The house was extremely clean.

The house was gorgeous and perfect for our group. The kids loved the bunk room and hung out mostly in that room. We loved sitting around the fire after sledding in the snow and playing many games. Also, the large kitchen was perfect for our group and we spent most of our time just enjoying cooking and snacking in the kitchen. The location of the house was perfect and we felt secluded from all the other houses around the community. Thank you for the fun time!

This cabin was the perfect getaway for our group of friends - close to Terry Peak for some of us to go skiing and a short drive from Deadwood where we enjoyed spending a little time also. We enjoyed lots of time at the cabin playing games, enjoying the warmth of the fire place and making meals.

My family started coming to Terry Peak Ski Resort over four years ago. We have stayed in many cabins and this was our first choice that we truly enjoyed so after trying other cabins it only makes sense to return to the home we feel at home in. From the fireplace, hot tub, views, kitchen where we can all gather and cook without being in each other’s way up to enjoying the loft area for kids, this home just suits us and we would recommend to anyone looking for a well taken care of home that’s in a great location whether it be hitting the slopes or going into town. Thank you!

Three generations vacation...
If you are looking for a place for multiple families and still have plenty of room to spread out, this is the place for you. We had our three adult children, spouses and four grandchildren aged 22 months to 7 years old. Each family was able to occupy a different floor. Grandkids loved using the upstairs play area for coloring, watching movies, and just running around. Adults enjoyed having their own bathrooms and the hot tub. The yard is backed by an open meadow and more forest. Grandkids went with me on daily hiking adventures to find animals. We saw deer, wild turkeys, and squirrels. Our meals were either on the deck or in the dining room, where we could all seat together and retell the day's events. Kitchen is stocked with everything we needed to prepare our meals.
Residence is only minutes from Leed and Deadwood and found excellent little grocery store in Leed. Don't miss out on having a great stay at Old No. 7!!! Looking forward to the next time we will visit the Black Hills. Thank you, Jason for sharing your home! Loni K.

Awesome Family Vacation
Great location. It was in a development but was one of the last houses so you got the Black Hills feeling. Sitting on the deck we would watch the deer move through the backyard and on the last night there were turkeys. Beautiful house. We loved the openness of the main floor. The bunk beds in the lower level was a big hit. Each of the grandchildren had their own bed. They also had an area upstairs for kids. A lot of games.
Plenty of bathrooms for everyone. Kitchen had everything we needed. The fridge is average size so it would of been nice to have a second fridge for beverages. We kept ours in coolers so we did have to replenish on ice. The grill was not cleaned after its last use (not the hosts fault). Renters please clean up after yourselves! Jason was very easy to communicate with. He installed a new lock and kept us to date on the process. It worked great. We had a wonderful stay.

The most relaxing blizzard
All aspects of the property were superb, even those which were uncontrollable! The home is beautiful and spacious while still intimate and cozy. A blizzard brought copious amounts of snow and wind for a day and a half but we used a bit more wood in the fireplace and watched the weather while we relaxed by the fire. When the snow stopped, a plow came by to clean the driveway, a pleasant young man came to shovel the deck and we were off to see the beauty of the area.

Easter Getaway
This is a wonderful property in a great location! We were looking for something easy to access but also private. This is the perfect combination. The house is beautiful and Jennifer was very responsive to any questions. My nieces especially loved the bunk beds! There was plenty of room to spread out but also great space to be together. We will definitely consider staying here again on a future Hills trip!
