Lovely property with everything you need and amazing views

We could not have asked for a better stay in Atenas! This beautiful property is a secret hideaway and a wonderful way to experience the true beauty of Costa Rica. The property manager was so helpful and attentive and the owners seem to have thought of everything a visitor could want!
Beds were comfortable, everything was clean, and plenty of space to spread out but enjoy time together.
We’ve already started planning our next visit!

Loved everything about the house, would def stay again

Stayed at this stunning home for one week with my two sisters. The location was conveniently located 1-2 hours away from all of the activities we planned for our trip, and the perfect oasis for relaxation between adventures. We absolutely loved our time in Costa Rica. The homeowner and property manager were amazing to work with too. Highly recommend this property.

This is a beautiful house overlooking a gorgeous view. It is well equipped with every amenity. Highly recommended.

My husband and I were guests for 2.5weeks at this beautiful home. The pictures on the listing do not do it justice. Leticia, the Property Manager, was VERY helpful and kind. Anything we needed or any questions we had were immediately addressed. We spent our morning and evenings sitting on the porch overlooking the mountains. The location was ideal for getting in/out of town, traveling to local destinations and taking day trips. It was truly a magical two weeks! Thank you for having us. We hope to visit again!

This was our first time in Costa Rica and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The house is actually better than the pictures portrayed on the website. There's a lot of open space. three bedrooms but plenty of privacy. It sits near the top of a mountain with beautiful panoramic views. We saw toucan birds, hummingbirds and there were monkeys nearby but we didn't get to see them. The groundskeeper took us on a brief tour which was well appreciated. Surprisingly there were nearly no mosquitoes which was one of our fears of going into a country with the rainforest. There were however some small bugs in the bedroom by the swimming pool. Even though the temperature got up to 95 some afternoons there was a cool mountain breeze the entire time. The swimming pool is clean and well maintained. It is very important to know the GPS settings. Several times we were led up a dirt road to a dead end. If GPS takes you to any dirt road. turn around and go back down into Atenas and restart. The roads throughout Costa Rica are very winding and take some getting used to. It is advised to allow extra time to drive to any destinations that you plan to go than what is estimated by the GPS, especially if the route includes going through St. Jose.

I had planned my family vacation around this lovely home and it didn't disappoint one bit. The special touches in nooks and crannies, the view, private bedrooms and bathrooms, bird songs, and did I mention the view? Leticia is a gracious property manager who provided us with all of the information that we would need for the local community as well as fun adventure spots. We followed her advice and enjoyed every stop,
You will be lulled to sleep in hammocks or hand crafted rocking chairs while having an adorable house cat at your feet. This home was a vacation in of itself and we can't wait to return to Atenas!

The views were stunning! Beautiful house, and Leticia was amazing! Will be back!

The pictures did not do justice to the view and tranquillity. The experience as a whole was more than I expected. The weather was perfect, the house and grounds were well kept, definitely be going back, if given the opportunity!

The place was amazing! If you are one who needs AC or TV, then this place is not for you. Personally, the way the living opens up when the pocket doors are open, AC is not necessary. The views are absolutely amazing. There are so many nice things to say about this property but I am sure I would not have enough space. I would definitely come back.

This property is a hidden gem! We stayed 5 nights (family of 4, two adults and two teens) and thorougly enjoyed our stay. There is plenty of space to spread out and relax at the same time feel connected to each other and the beautiful foliage that surrounds. I practiced yoga on the deck and we all enjoyed the gorgeous view. Be aware there is no AC but the weather cools at night and there is usually a nice breeze. The location allowed us to make a few day trips (Poas volcano, La Paz waterfalls and the beach) and there is a supermarket in the town close by that was very convenient.

This property and location are spectacular. It is truly a gem and our family made lifetime memories staying here. The host and property manager made booking a breeze and were easily reached when questions arose.

I just love this house. This is our second time staying here. It is definitely a special place. Gorgeous views, quiet and comfortable. Perfect vacation spot.

We arrived at La Luna Vista to a full moon, and perhaps that says it all. This is beautiful villa in an utterly idyllic setting. Peaceful, private and perfect, with stunning views, amidst all the comforts of home. To the many previous guests…we echo your comments. To Leticia (you are amazing!), Aaron (yummy meals), Valeria and Carlos, and to our sweet friends Muñeca, Chico and Kira...thank you for welcoming us! And of course to Diana, thank you, we can’t wait to return. La Luna Vista is pure magic.

You always worry whether a VRBO will live up to the photos - let me just say, we never got tired of waking up here and taking in the incredible views. If you are looking to get away from it all and enjoy rest and relaxation, this is the place. We loved sitting on the balcony reading and playing games in the living room. And the house is beautiful, too! Aaron cooked us a fabulous meal and we enjoyed a couples massage by Lizz and her assistant next to the pool, while listening to the rain. We had delicious trips into town for dinner, and made frequent stops for coffee and pastries at El Balcon (yum!!). We did several day trips from here to beach, volcano (Poas), and the blue water falls. Always allow extra time as the roads are windy and it can take a long time if you get stuck behind a truck. Four wheel drive was helpful, as the driveway is steep and it rained heavily even though it was the "dry season." One other tip - we love the "open air" feeling of the house, but it does mean that it can get buggy. This was our second trip to Costa Rica and we absolutely love it!!

Property manager Leticia and Carlos the property manager are FANTASTIC.

Great view and very private if you want to just chill by the pool

What can we say? This is our 5th stay at Diana's.
We keep coming back every year. The ever changing cloud movement, birds, mountains never tire. Not to mention the warm dips in the pool are a bonus!
We love this house, it will not disappoint!

Diana started us off, and owns this beautiful property. Letecia was great about communicating with us, and Carlos was so friendly and such a hard worker. It was peaceful and relaxing, and beautiful. We loved having Chico, the cat, Muneco, the dog and Kira, Carlos's dog, visit us! I would drink my coffee in the mornings while Chico had his milk and kitty treats! Muneco also liked the kitty treats and chicken. It was a great time!

This home is so worth the stay. The moment we walked in the door, we felt right at home. The home is precisely described and more, a write up can not do this home justice. Very well equipped, communication was excellent, Carlos was there when we needed a little help. Overall, hoping to return. Thank you Leticia, for making our visit memorable and seamless

5 star all around! The view, the house, the rooms, the hammock, the pool all were better than listed. Such a tranquil retreat with all the amenities we needed. The owner, house manager and maintenance were welcoming and kind. Highly recommend this property!

We've been staying in VRBOs for 20 years or so. This was one of the nicest places we've found to-date, my wife is certain the nicest. We had to tear ourselves away to do something other than enjoy the fabulous views, home and pool. Two complaints; the beds are very firm, not a problem for my wife, but I would have liked something a bit softer, and the grill is too filthy to use.
4.9
This was our second stay and it was just as wonderful. Aaron the private chef made wonderful dinners for us each night and Lizz the massage therapist was very relaxing. See our previous review for additional notes. We are already planning pur next trip. Don’t think twice. Visit this property and enjoy Pura Vida!

The property was amazing. Perfect in every way. The house host was incredibly helpful!

We stayed at this beautiful house for two and. a half months. The view from the veranda was absolutely incredible. During the rainy season the clouds rolled in and out magically. The property maintenance team provided excellent, attentive service. The gardener and the house cleaner were absolutely lovely. The kitchen is well stocked. There is no tv but the wifi works well. I would highly recommend staying here with a few caveats. There are steep steps to get down to the main house entrance so it is not handicap accessible. I would recommend renting a four wheel drive car if you stay here for more than a few days as the front gate is a quarter of a mile away up a steep drive. The nature of the house is that you are living outdoors. Do not expect a sealed, temperature controlled space (like a hotel) where little creatures stay outside. Two of the bedrooms are very comfortable for an extended stay. The third bedroom by the pool is fine for a short trip but the outdoor shower makes it a little uncomfortable for an extended stay. All of our guests who stayed in that room felt more comfortable taking shifts to share the bathroom and shower in the main bedroom. We will miss the incredible views, the veranda, the sliding doors, the toucans that visited us every morning and the lovely staff!
4.9
The view from this property is astounding. The pool and outside deck area are really incredible. The house was fully stocked and well appointed. Our host was kind, communicative, and helpful. We loved staying in Atenas. A couple of things to note, if you have children, they will be staying in different areas of the home--in fact, separate "houses" on the property. This wasn't 100% clear to me. Also, I was looking forward to using the tub and it didn't hold water. Speaking of which, this house did had HOT water; a luxury we didn't find many places throughout our 2 month stay in Costa Rica. Also, there's a house cat which is not allowed in the bedrooms but does visit frequently in the main area. Overall, this house is a gem. We'd love to visit again.

We have had the truly good fortune of staying in this beautiful home now four times and it only gets more beautiful. We come here to relax, rejuvenate and slow down. In the mornings, you wake up to the most beautiful view of the valley and the is never tiresome because it changes depending on the time of day, year and with weather - from stunning sunny days, sparkling lights in the distance at night, or clouds that roll in during green season afternoons. You can see toucans and other beautiful birds and wildlife every day. We hike and walk every day to town, through mango and coffee farms - the best walks end with a trip to the German Bakery (El Blacon), don't miss it. The climate is perfect in Atenas, in the 80s during the day and high 60's at night - no heat or AC needed. The pool is really fantastic, clean and a nice size. There is plenty of privacy and your own space if you are traveling with families or other couples. There is the most perfect cat, Chico, that greets you in the mornings, which we loved. I can go on and on about this wonderful piece of heaven. It is really perfection. We can't wait to come back - there is just something special about this location, home, town and area.
Also, Leticia is an excellent, top notch property host and manager. She is lovely and will arrange for you what you need. If you need a ride from the airport, Leticia can arrange for Eduardo to pick you up - he is quick, friendly and dependable. Don't hesitate to book this home - we wish everyone who travels here the peace and serenity we feel, every time we have had the good fortune to stay at La Luna Vista.

Believe me when I say you won’t want to leave. Breathtaking views. Zen design. Plenty off space to spread out. A meditator’s perfect getaway. Convenient access to all the best parts of Costa Rica. Impeccable hosting. An incredible, memorable experience.

Private and perfect!
Awesome house! We spent a wonderful 7 days here and loved the location and the view and the pool. We’re planning on returning next summer. Definitely recommend.

Leave the inside lights off at night
A lovely spot to chillax with easy access to Atenas amenities. Diana's villa was a well-located base for our excursions. Property manager Leticia is attentive, knowledgeable and went out of her way to inform us about local Holy Week celebrations and closures, and to help us manage a medical concern while there.
The house unfortunately has few window/door screens so you can't really keep the bugs out. We learned to manage and tolerate. The annual hatching out of the junebugs must have been early this year too, but we learned to leave outside lights on and inside off so as not to attract them inside.
Altogether a memorable stay that I hope to one day repeat!

Lots of space, including outdoors to spread out. Close to town. Views are spectacular. Wi-Fi only worked in the main house, not the bedrooms.

We spent a delightful month in pura vida land in Diana’s beautiful home. We loved so many things about it: the indoor-outdoor living aspect 24/7 with wide open windows and terraces overlooking magnificent, peaceful, pastoral views. The birds, cows, and soaring vultures added to our enjoyment. The house is beautifully furnished, designed and appointed. The kitchen is more than adequate. We ate at the gorgeous outdoor table for most meals. We enjoyed the pool. The manager and the on-site caretaker were very helpful, and the housekeeper did a very good job.
All that said, there are a few challenging aspects of the rental you should know about. There is an adorable cat "Chico" who lives in the ("his") house. The manager told us when we arrived and spotted Chico sleeping that if we are allergic to cats or didn’t want him that was ok. We were happy to have Chico around,. We think renters should know there is a cat whose home this is. To keep him out you would have to shut the entire wall-sized pocket doors on 2 walls. We kept them open at all times as the temps were perfect and no bugs.
Secondly, we did not rent a car. Atenas is relatively convenient nearby by taxi ($4-6 each way). The house, however, is located in a gated community.Walking up to the gate to meet the taxi is probably a 20 minute extremely steep walk only for someone in excellent physical condition. The system to notify the manager that a taxi is coming for her to give remote access good but not fool-proof. Our preference was to get some exercise by walking to town (about 1.5 miles) and taxiing back with groceries. We accessed a road behind the house but only by rigging a rope tied to a tree to get access to that road. Having a car might have be preferable. The town isn't much but we found a couple of good restaurants and the Thursday mkt was wonderful. The dishwasher door only opens about 1/2 way so we washed our dishes. No big deal. None of these things we raise for your consideration diminished to any appreciable extent the quality of our peaceful, restful stay in this wonderful home.

Absolute Pura Vida Perfection
When I tell you this place is amazing, I'm not exaggerating. Every detail has been handled to make this a super relaxing, super private, super clean getaway. Both Diana the owner and Leticia the property manager were very attentive and communicated everything very clearly. Leticia helped us coordinate a private chef for two nights, as well as a massage therapist, and helped us find our best Covid test option for our return flight (despite us flying on a holiday weekend). Each bedroom is totally separated away from each other and the main living area, which provides a wonderful balance of togetherness for a family, while still providing ample privacy for each person/couple in the bedrooms. In this instance, it was just the two of us and it was perfect. The house is located at the very end of a private road so although there are a few other houses behind the gate, you'd never really know it given the location. We went to the sloth rescue as well as zip lining, and both places were very easy to get to. Atenas is located just a short drive from the airport, but feels a world away. The town itself is also very clean and everyone we encountered were nice. The grocery store and restaurants served us well, but honestly, our favorite part was opening up all those pocket doors, pouring a glass of wine, and just taking in the surrounding nature. We are already planning our return trip. If you are considering a trip to CR, we highly recommend Diana's home to fully experience Pura Vida!

Everything that prior reviews described. Only downside was barking dogs throughout the night. If this is bothersome, bring a good set of earplugs.
