About this cottage rental
Welcome to our Bridgton Bungalow Cottage at The Denmark Stage Stop House! Our cottage is a studio style cottage with 1 Queen Bed and couch that coverts to 2 twin beds allowing for no more than 4 people. Our cottage is similar to hotel room in that there is no kitchen but unlike a hotel we provide ample appliances allowing you to cook full meals for everyone in your party. We provide a gas grille with a side burner on your private deck, which has outdoor seating. Inside you have a full size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker (both auto drip and French Press), griddle, toaster oven, blender and an over the top Shark Foodi, which is just like an Instant Pot only better. If you are not familiar with Instant Pot's they allow you to slow cook, bake, sear, air fry, pressure cooker and more. The cottage is fully equipped with plenty of dishware, glassware, utensils, etc. The Bungalow Cottage has a large bathroom that just underwent a remodel where we added cabinets, a very large sind and a granite countertop but for those of you already familiar with us we kept that antique clawfoot tub everyone loves so much! Beyond the private deck you have a yard all to yourselves for relaxing and play with a comfy tufted hammock. This is a stand alone cottage with parking directly adjacent to your cottage. We have heat for the summer months and yes, we have air conditioning for your comfort on those hot summer days. The Denmark Stage Stop House, which includes this cottage, is located on a 7 acre equestrian estate where we may have some visiting horses for summer as we no longer have our own. The grounds consist of 7 acres of fields and pastures which you may access to take a stroll by yourself, with your traveling companion(s) including your four legged best friend and family member. We are dog friendly!!! We hope to have our yard fenced this summer for your dog, provided we can find someone to do the job. We are keeping our fingers crossed. While we are definitely DOG FRIENDLY we have one very strict rule that we expect everyone to respect. NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED ON FURNITURE OR BEDDING - EVER!! Please realize we have other travelers that visit that have sensitivities and allergies to dog hair and their dander so we have to be considerate to all. All dogs must be leashed when outside and on the property. While Covid is not the threat it once was, we realize it is still very much a concern and we have continued our Covid cleaning practices to protect our guests and our staff. You can be assured every surface is cleaned and sanitized properly to kill the Covid virus along with any other bacteria and viruses. We also take our guests' safety very seriously too, therefore there is a smoke and carbon monoxide detectors along with a gas detector. Please note none of these are to be deactivated or have the battery removed at any time unless you have created an alert for cooking and after silencing the alarm(s) please replace. Sometimes in the cottage the alarm will sound due to steam from the bathroom from showers, etc. We have great WiFi, strong enough for those working remotely. We are also open to those wanting longer stays allowing them to work and vacation simultaneously. We have had many past guests that did just that and had no problems with an online meetings or work requirements. I worked remotely from here for 4 years with no issues with the exception of the rare outage by our provider Spectrum, which we have no control over. We offer very comfortable bedding and your beds will be made up with very high quality bed linens upon your arrival, so if you arrive late you can jump right into bed to get a full nights sleep before you start your busy day the next morning feeling rested and ready for adventure and fun. We also offer plenty of high quality towels but do suggest you bring your own beach towels as our towels should not leave the property and are not suitable for beach fun. Our cottage offers many unexpected extras for our guests' comfort such as heated toilet seat, heated towel rack, Fire TV that works with Alexa. Alexa is provided as well with Unlimited Amazon Music and Sirius XM on the higher quality speakers and even a speaker that you may take outside on the deck or yard with you. If you don't like Alexa no problem – just unplug her. Our newest extra is a Robot Vacuum named “Dustin” so keeping the floors free of sand and whatever gets tracked in couldn’t be easier - just ask “Dustin” to do his job. Please feel free to ask us any questions anytime and if you are interested in a longer term stay up to 3 months – let's talk. We are surrounded by so many things as we are located in Maine's Lake Region. There are numerous lakes and ponds, hiking trails, Shawnee Peak Ski and Snowboard Resort is only 5.4 miles away. For Travel Nurses and Traveling Healthcare workers coming to the area we are only 6 miles from the Bridgton Hospital with many other area hospitals within driving distance. Traveling Healthcare workers can see more on Furnish Finder and others.

The perfect quiet space to stay if you’re looking to come to this part of Maine! An hour away from Portland and a great spot to get to a lot of hiking and outdoor activities. The space was clean with lots of accommodations and great communication from the host.

It was perfect! We stayed there so we could attend Fryeburg fair. It had everything we needed. Host was amazing. We will be back.

This bungalow is stocked with any kitchen gadget or small appliance you could ever need. Towels and bedding are top notch. Most impressive are the gardens and surrounding flora. There is very little room for storage, but you won't need to bring much. Deborah, the property manager, is easily accessible and eager to make your stay pleasurable. Thank you!

Very nice. The bed was too sift so slept on day bed. Could have used more kitchen set up; garbage can bear frig area, cutting knives ets.
But pretty room, lovely bathroom, and very accommodating host.

Nice. Private. A little “different”. But we liked it.

Remote location. We drove twice to Sebago State Park beach, which was beautiful. They do have every kind of kitchen gadget; we just used the coffee brewer and microwave. It's a bit tough to rinse/clean everything in the little bathroom sink. I brought paper plates, and they also had some there, a must.
You can rinse and leave plates, glasses, utensils, and cups outside in a basket, which Deborah will pick up, run through the dishwasher, and return.
The property sits just off a busy intersection. Part of the road was closed when we were there, so it was maybe less noisy than it could be, but we still heard trucks and loud mufflers at night.
As construction skewed our GPS directions, Deborah kindly guided us, and waited in the driveway to make sure we found our way in.
The price was good, and being pet friendly was also good. Be prepared to drive several miles to anywhere. The Hannaford's grocery store in Bridgton was great, and there's some decent restaurants there and in Naples.

Way to much "stuff" in cabin. Kitchen items that were completely unnecessary and had obviously been unused for a very long time, (dusty) also impractical to use as no counter space. Expiration date on some food.
Only enough hot water for one good shower. There were two of us. Instructions and reminders all over the place as well as post it notes, these need to go in a House Binder and left where binder can be seen.
The beds were comfortable and loved the flowers and outside arbor.

Bungalow stay
The bungalow was everything as it was advertised. We loved the location as it allowed us to be close to family and explore a different section of the great state of Maine. The bed was super comfy, fell into each night and quickly went to sleep.
Had we spent more time in the bungalow we would’ve prepared a few meals, but we didn’t. We had plenty of things to get us started from Deborah and it was great to have the option!
If I would change anything it would only be a slightly wider shower curtain surround, loved the claw foot tub, but felt the tightness of space as the curtain was close. Everything worked well, so no complaints about anything!! The extra heated items would be very nice in the winter, so we can just imagine those benefits. Would certainly recommend to anyone to stay at the bungalow.

Beautiful cute place to stay in a gorgeous part of Maine!
Very cute bungalow with all the amenities of a swanky hotel. DL did a great job decorating it and making sure we were as comfortable as possible during our stay! She was very quick to respond to messages, and when I forgot my purse at the bungalow, she mailed it express to me very quickly. I highly recommend staying here!
