The room was spacious & clean. The only problem was mother nature. It was Maui's Dora effect. The wind was bad, blowing dust all day long. The wild fires caused smoke in the air. Take Dora out of the picture, it was a great visit.

It’s a nice place for one person or a couple. Cute courtyard in the back with a nice pool. The blinds to the front door open and close from the outside so anyone walking by could open them. They stayed shut for my stay, so I don’t think that happened though. Nice quiet neighborhood but not very walkable, not very many sidewalks. The beach is right across the street, which is super convenient and there is beach supplies in the closet here. No AC but that wasn’t an issue for me because I was only here at night and turned on the fans and opened a window. A clean place but there were some bugs that’s crawled out of the sink and bathtub drains.

Excellent, would highly recommend. Excellent value for money, great location, loved it!

Need fumigation

This place felt like my first college apartment. It is in a quiet, centrally located area. However, the couch is so trashed you can’t even sit on it. Definitely don’t plan to sleep on it or the pull out, especially with no blankets available. Also, the amount of power strips had me concerned about fire, the whole time. Pretty sure the stove should be plugged into the wall, not a power strip. Might be why the oven doesn’t work either.

We loved the beach chairs, umbrella, and towels included in the room, they allowed us to really relax and enjoy the beach! We appreciated the extra fans as well! Pool area was also very nice. Great location on the island for driving to other areas/towns since its towards the middle!

A simple quiet place that has just what you need. Wake up in the morning listening to the waves and watching the chickens with their baby chick's roam and looking at the sunrise. Communications with the host were amazing. She answered all questions in a timely matter and even when I got stuck for a few extra days bc of the hurricane she was so helpful. I love Kihei and everything it has to offer. The great shops and restaurants. Check out 4th Friday in Kihei is awesome.

It was wonderful to be able to walk two minutes and be on the beach!

Loved that it was somewhat secluded and away from the crowd. Dona was very responsive and helpfull. The lack of a/c was the only real downside. Only a problem late in the afternoon when it got warm. We had a great stay!

We loved the location of the property. Easy walk to the beach. Great access to day excursions to the north and south. Perfect size for our needs and having the kitchen really helped. We loved it!

Amazing place to stay. Dona was amazing and communicated with us whenever we needed her. When we come to Maui again we will be staying here!

The owners were wonderful and responsive but sadly the unit was very dated and lacked some of the creature comforts that we expected. FYI, there is no AC! There are tons of good restaurants within a 15 mile radius and much to explore on Maui. Enjoy!

My partner and I enjoyed the location of our stay. The place was clean and comfortable. A lot of great spots nearby and the beach is breathtaking.

The ease of getting into the unit was nice and easy. Cute little place with most everything one would need for a short stay. Water pressure was a little soft and make sure you have an extra roll TP. But beach access was wonderful, plenty of fans to keep you comfortable at night, and access to laundry and pool was very nice to have. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you. Cheers.

This truly is a lovely property. Beautiful grounds, amazing pool, grills, washing facilities and private parking. It is literally 2 mins walk to SugarBeach. I was advised to stay in North Kihei so as to be close to all areas of the island. This property was perfect for that. The property is in good repair with the exception of the carpet in the bedroom. Many amenities-beach items, cooler, basic stocked cupboard. I’d recommend replacing the sleeper sofa soon. The cushions are not comfortable due to the springs. Cons: it is hard to get a natural breeze going. There is no AC, and so it gets pretty hot and sticky. Sometimes the trade winds blow in the right direction! The owners have provided 7 fans though. to their credit. We appreciated the 10pm-7am quiet hours. Thank you for such a lovely stay. We loved our first visit to Maui. We will recommend this property to our friends and family.

This location is perfect to achieve all your Maui dreams! We had the vacation of a lifetime!! Always just a short five away from a fruit stand where you can try all kinds of new and exotic fruits, from Lemon Meringue fruit, Jack Fruit, Mountain Apples, Sugarloaf and Maui Gold Pineapples and tons more!! Golden, silk sand beaches just across the street where we swam in the warm turquoise sparkling ocean with sea turtles coming by us on their daily routes for food. Tons of hikes that are near by and awe inspiring such as the Waihee trail. It’s a bit intense at first due to the steep incline, but breathing taking views all around as you ascend through the clouds. Great meals that are less than 30 minutes away at Maui Thai Bistro, Mako Roots (great vegan option, we ate here three times!) Fleetwood’s and Shave Ice from Peace Love Shave Ice in South Kihei. With as much beach time as we could get in between all of our adventures, this is the perfect spot to vacation. We love this location and it was our second time visiting, greatly looking forward to our next stay here! Thanks Dona!!

This property was absolutely perfect for our stay. My best friend and I traveled to Kihei for a friends wedding and stayed for five nights. This condo was a dream come true. It is centrally located on South Kihei Road within walking distance of Ululani’s Shaved Ice (highly recommend), and the beach is directly across the street. There was always plenty of parking, and the space was perfect for the two of us to coexist comfortably for the week. I had a few questions come up during our stay, and Dona, the host, was incredibly responsive and helpful. We would love to come back and stay here again. We had a great time at this place. The kitchen is complete, you have everything that you need. Besides that you have beach chairs, beach towels, a small cooler and a umbrella. The location is perfect.

The condo at Wailana Sands is on the 2nd floor of an 8-unit complex. Dona was great and timely with communication. All kitchen and bath ammenities present in the unit. Nice overlook of lawn and pool area from the lanai. Although it was kind of small, the unit fit our needs perfectly. Our daughter loved the pool. ! For us, the fact that Wailana Sands is located at the back of a cul-de-sac of several small ( less than 20 units) condo complexes and not around a bunch of "corporate" or huge condo resorts was very appealing. And the other people staying at Wailana Sands! Very friendly and full of Aloha.! Have not stayed anywhere on vacation where the "people next door" talked to you at length. Seemed everyone knew each other form years past. Although we were ''strangers" they welcomed us with bigh smiles. Be sure to go to the impromptu happy hour every sunset. The beach is just across the street, and while it is not Kam beach, it was great to walk and watch for whales. I actually liked the less trafficed stretch. Seems the locals like this area of beach as well, and I like that. The Whale sancturary is a short walk down the beach and well worth checking out. Honu always on the rocks of the fish pond there. The complex is located at the "top" of Kihei so it was location perfect to day trip from. In short, the place is awesome. We stayed here October 18 through the 25th. We found the condo extremely clean with towels and dishes/utensils and cookware to use. No foil or saran wrap for leftover storage. Also had 2 snorkels/masks and beach chairs. The locals told us it has been unseasonably warm this year so the 2 ceiling fans, 3 small fans and 2 box fans were used 24/7 but the afternoons were still very warm inside. The pool made all the difference, we hung out there with a cooler (found in the unit) of drinks until the sun went down. The pool was also a nice place to visit with the other tenants. The blind over the bed didn't raise making the afternoon breeze difficult to get through. Can't beat the location, central to all the excursions we booked, and only a minutes walk to a beach to play in, well worth the inexpensive rate. Definitely outdated, many extension cords and power strips throughout for the fans and charging our electronics, not a big deal. The fridge and freezer smelled a little like fish. Everything was acceptable for the price except for the roaches in the kitchen area. Not many, just big enough not to be able to say they were ants. When we called the owners they were quick to get a bug man out but it made using the dishes and cookware less trustworthy unless we washed them first. We were also reluctant to leave dishes to wash later in case they drew more out. We laughed about the dresser whose drawers we couldn't open without placing a hand on the top to avoid tipping it over, and the 3rd drawer down had the bottom replaced with a smaller piece leaving a gap. Again, well worth the price for a location we couldn't have afforded otherwise. All in all not sorry we booked this unit.

Great location. Dona is a Fantastic property manager. Absolutely needed: 1. Some furniture repairness. Couldn't use some units, couldn't open/close. 2. Pest control!!!!!!! A must!!!!!! 3. AC. Very hot. The fans do not help. 4. Better cleaning. Especially in the kitchen and bathroom. 5. Mapping how to find the property and how to use the code at the first arrival. If it's night, it's difficult to find.

Everything about this listing and the owners was perfect! I had a trip of a lifetime and I loved the location and convenience of this rental! Can’t wait to visit again!!

Nice place for the price! No Keys in the lock box when we arrived but we managed to have access to the condo and the day after we were able to get in touch with Dona and everything was resolved. Even if many fans were provided, the condo was very hot so my recommendation to the owners would be to invest in an AC. Overall, this place was still nice and quiet and Dona was helpfull and always easy to contact. Thanks Dona 😊�

The place was easy to find, very clean and private. The pool was lovely to dip in when the winds picked up you wanted a break from the beach. Dona was easy to communicate with, and there were no hiccups in arriving or leaving. One recommendation I would make would be to upgrade the fans. Without AC, it can get quite stuffy without proper circulation. Several newer and stronger fans would make the place more enjoyable during the hotter parts of the year. Other than that, this place is a complete gem and tucked away from the busy road, but still easy to access the nearby ABC store, beach, and fruit stands. Will definitely come back here for our next trip to Maui.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights over our anniversary and had an absolutely wonderful time. The property is a very short walk to a small nearby beach that was almost completely deserted our whole stay. It is also within very short driving distance to many food places (both local and chain) as well as a convenience store and some delicious shaved ice. The local birds kept us company in the courtyard, including a mother hen and her five chicks (they were around, but we never found them obnoxious, just cute). Also, near the pool, as the sun starts to go down, keep an eye out for brown anole lizards coming out to sun themselves on the tile. It's quite a site! This is definitely an older property, so don't expect anything super upscale. Also, our quiet experience could be YMMV, depending on the other residents of the building at the time (it looks like most, if not all, of the units are similarly rented out, though I don't think by the same renter). I could see the stay being much less enjoyable with rowdy neighbors or a big crowd using the pool area frequently. But during our stay, my wife and I barely saw any "neighbors" and I'm pretty sure we were the only ones to use the poor during that four days. But again, YMMV, and bear in mind that these things are not necessarily under the control of owner renting the VRBO. The property was well-stocked with various utensils, towels, beach gear, fans, and just about everything you would need to be comfortable and have fun. No A/C, but we did just fine in July by keeping the sliding door open (screen closed) and windows open, allowing for a cross-breeze all day. Sure, it was warm, but it's also Hawaii. You adjust pretty quickly. Absolutely worth it for the low price, quiet neighborhood, and proximity to what practically felt at times like a private beach. Also, the owner was great. Very communicative and quick to respond to messages. Give this property a try! You won't regret it!
