Beautiful view and very clean and comfortable. Close to everything. It's a very old building with historical significance- pretty cool.

Easy to find if you follow the directions and listing accurately describes what you’re getting. Windows open and ceiling fans on for nice comfortable check in day , recommend “official “ window opening stops and new toilet.

It was great! The little dirt road path is hard to find in the dark and the property isn’t marked on the outside so it’s hard to know if it’s the right place until you walk in.
But it was clean and spacious and definitely a great choice

It was the perfect space to attend graduation. Perfect location, clean and quiet. We enjoyed everything about the property.

Nice location for downtown houghton and to MTU. The outside does make you second guess but the apartment inside was perfect for our needs. We enjoyed our stay!

The apartment was great for us! The beds are firm but comfortable. Had an issue with the kitchen sink and it was taken care of right away. Would stay again.

Don’t let the outside of this house deter you!!! The outside looks very old and really not all that appealing, but the inside is just as described!!! Very clean and updated with plenty of space for our large family. Beds were comfy. Kitchen was well stocked with dinnerware/pots/pans. There is no dishwasher, which was a bit of a bummer, but overall not a big deal. My only suggestion would be to upgrade bedding to something a little nicer and have extra blankets somewhere in the house (we couldn’t find any). Communication was terrific. The price, especially for MTU family weekend, was perfect! We would definitely stay here again!!!

The property was convenient to downtown. Nice view of the canal. Was a heat wave when we stayed so ac would have been nice. Good breeze in the am. Overall would stay again.

Great unit. Bedrooms were comfortable, kitchen very usable. It is close to downtown but not really walkable to anything.
This unit will be on our "return" list, we were very impressed!

Very clean and roomy upstairs apartment with a small grassy area for our dog. We loved the convenience of the location. Exploring the Keewenaw was wonderful ahead of our son’s MTU move-in.

We were in Houghton for the weekend for ski races and needed a dog friendly place to stay where we could get good sleep and have a good breakfast to start the day. This fit our needs, was clean and quiet as well. Thank you!

We travelled here for a tour of MTU for our son. We enjoyed learning about the building/apartment that was once a part of Houghton’s smelting history. The building owner was great when we thought we had an issue with the cable (our lack of being tech savvy). He even stopped by to assist us. Would recommend to anyone who has dogs and needs a place to stay in the area.

A bit hard to find and gps was wrong, but great stay once we settled in:)

The apartment is the top floor of an old building that was part of Houghton's industrial history. The entryway has a cool mural with historical info. The interior is tastefully remodeled and decorated. It is a bit outside of town, so not walking distance to downtown or campus if that's what you're looking for. Pay close attention to the instructions that the host sends on finding the building! Communication with host is quick and helpful. Great place!

This is a darling space with a view! Unfortunate that the Keweenaw shared temps of almost 90 degrees with equal humidity two of our four days as this is not the place to keep you cool. Otherwise, it's in such a fab location, with comfy beds and super clean.

Great Location!
My partner works downtown and I was able to spend the week mountain biking. The property is in a perfect spot for both downtown Houghton and outdoor activities. It is also right next to the Bill Nicholls trail which was a smooth MTB ride down to South Range (and extends further). Really easy to get to Michigan Tech Trails and Swedetown Trails as well. Overall, we had a blast and this location was perfect.

Fall 2021 Visit
Property was just as shown via the photos and the description. Chad was extremely responsiveness to all communications. Check-in was a snap. My security deposit was refunded within two days of our visit. We were very pleased with our stay and will ask to rent again in the future. Thank you Chad!

Good Base for Vacation
I graduated from Tech and we planned this vacation to show a couple friends around that hadn't really been in the UP before.
The location is great for heading south/west without going through town, and can head across the bridge without going through downtown. It was easy for us to go out for the day and stop in to relax for a bit before heading to dinner.
Had a nice view of the Community Night Out fireworks from the end of the driveway.

Repeat visit
This was our second stay and enjoyed our as much as the first time! The location was convenient for moving into Tech. It was quiet and restful. Location was convenient for groceries, restaurants and touring the U.P.

A/C
l didn’t catch that there was no air conditioning. There were no fans available outside of one ceiling fan, so we had to purchase numerous fans. The property was excellent outside of that. Would stay there again, but it would have been nice if box fans were already on site at the property.

Great stay with a Portage Lake view
We didn't realize we were staying in an historic building until we arrived and saw the display in the entry way. We kept cool for sleeping by leaving the windows open, which worked well except for the road noise in the front bedroom. We found the beds to be comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. We were away most of the day and it was a good place to come and relax at the end of the day.

Great Place for a Family of Five
Having read previous reviews, I was aware of the age of the building, so I was not surprised when I saw it in person. Although it is an older building and noticeable when you pull up, we had a great stay and would book it again if traveling with our family of five. My son immediately pointed out the interior defaults (slanted floor & creakiness), but I reminded him that was part of its charm & character being as old as it is. The interior was exactly as shown in the online pictures. I'll admit, check-in/check-out were not what I am accustomed to, but it worked and Chad gave me his direct number if I had any questions or we ran into any problems. It was nice to look out the window and see the canal. It was a little noisy with how fast cars drove by, but I think that noise could be reduced with new windows.
My biggest suggestion for future renters: Make sure you type in the address exactly as Chad provides to include the city and zip code. My husband did not and was taken to another location, but I had no problem since I had typed it into Waze exactly as it was provided.

Great place. Clean except floors were sandy and had dog hair when we arrived.
