About this house rental
Formerly a bed and breakfast, this lodge-style luxury home features 9 differently themed bedrooms and 8 1/2 baths to accommodate up to 24 guests. A huge, new porch faces the river, complete with grill, picnic tables, and plenty of seating. Up the stairs to the left, find the Train Room (sleep 3 in a queen and daybed) and the Mardi Gras Room (sleep 2 in a queen). Each room has its own bath, TV, and private balcony. Up the stairs to the right find 4 bedrooms, each with a private bath, TV, and shared wrap-around balcony for outstanding mountain views in every direction. The Kachina Room (sleep 2 in a new king bed) has custom artwork (paintings and hand-carved kachinas), a Kokopelli shower curtain, and leather on woven reed handmade barrel chairs. The extra-large Fish Room (sleeps 4 in 2 queens) focuses on making anglers feel right at home with fishing gear, fish lamps, fish shower curtains, and more. Both of these rooms face the river. Across the hall, the extra-large Indian Princess Room (sleep 4 in 2 queens), done in pink and soft teal, features interesting Indian portraits from the princess to her handsome brave to her wise elders and the warrior shower curtain. The 4th bedroom on this side, perfect for a very romantic couple, is known as the "tasteful" Bordello Room--done in rich reds and blacks with gold accents. It sleeps 2 in a new king bed. Downstairs find 3 more bedrooms. The Master Suite, known as the Anasazi Room of the Ancient Ones, sleeps 4 in a new king bed and queen sleeper. The decor features handmade baskets, a commissioned painting by a local artist, and rock art style wall decor. This large elegant room, perfect for those with altitude problems, also includes a small private tiled sun porch with a separate outside entrance and a private bath. Outside this door is a 5x8 dog kennel, an extra convenience in this pet-friendly home. The Wildlife Room (sleep 2 in a queen) focuses on the wide variety of animal life in Red River from elk to bears to ducks to deer. This cozy room shares a Jack & Jill bath with the Cowboy Room next door. Done in reds and blues, the Cowboy Room (sleeps 2 in a queen) will delight the wanna-be cowgirls and cowboys in your family. Boots, saddles, 10-gallon hats, horses, six-shooters, and rodeo art blend together in this rustically charming room. All 3 rooms, complete with TV and wood floors, give way to the saltillo tiled living space on the rest of the main floor. The main front entrance opens into a media room with a full complement of DVDs for both kids and adults. The TV in this room works well for those who have brought their own video games and hook-ups. The secondary front entrance opens into a long narrow laundry room with a new gas dryer, a fairly new washer, and lots of space for hanging skis, raincoats, or hip waders. Winding through the hall, you pass through the mudroom (with a large utility sink) and past the huge double door pantry into the fully stocked spacious kitchen. New stainless steel appliances, a butcher block island, 2 crockpots, a wok, 3 coffee pots, supplied complement of spices, and a new Keurig (bring your own K-cups) plus plenty of cookware ensure lots of tasteful meal opportunities. The dining room, with its 5 tables and lots of chairs, allows for cozy family meals. Be sure to notice the old skis and the many nutcrackers lining this wood-paneled room with a huge log beam ceiling. After dining, sprawl out in the family room in front of the new 56" flat-screen TV or enjoy the wood-burning fireplace. Open the windows to enjoy the refreshingly clean mountain air and the sound of the rushing river as you drift off to sleep in this enormous home with a cozy, intimate feeling, just a few blocks away from the ski lift and Main street. We had a great stay & the house was perfect for our large family....bedrooms & bathrooms for everyone. It is in need of some love & attention to fix a few things. A bit of an issue the first day getting quick enough response from maintenance but once that was taken care of, the rest was great. We would stay here again & hope it to be updated a little by then. Thank you.

This is a great place for family gatherings. Convenient location, lots of space for families. Needs a little upkeep, but not a big deal. Very comfortable for our family.

The week was wonderful. A few areas of the house in need of repair; however, overall great location and place to stay. We would stay at this location again.

Property going downhill
This was our second annual stay at this property. The property is falling apart. Ceiling lights with no covers in multiple rooms, chairs that are falling apart (can't even sit in them safely), etc. Location is great, but ownership needs to do a better job of taking care of this property. It's too expensive to be in such terrible shape.

We celebrated our 50th Anniversary with our children & grandkids - 15 total. Lots of room for eating & games in dining room & living area for watching TV. It was great for us. We would rent this cabin again.

We have stayed at this house numerous times and we were slightly disappointed in the upkeep. Faucets leaking, heaters not working upstairs, refrigerator not working. Some of the double beds were very uncomfortable. Most of the TVs didn't work and are outdated. The majority of the chairs downstairs were broken or very wobbly as was the kitchen table. The sink in the bathroom upstairs (first bedroom on the right) shot water out at you. The bedroom across from it, the door didn't lock and the shower head leaked. There are ceiling cracks with pieces hanging down and some plug ins didn't work. The Jack and Jill toilet didn't flush right. For the amount being paid, some of these items are easy fixes. This house is typically our go to house and we always love the ease of renting, etc. but these items need fixed.

Would stay again!
Great place for our family of 14. Comfortable, great space for playing family games. Deck was amazing and plenty of room. Right beside the creek which was pretty and convenient for the fishermen in the family. Could use a little TLC but overall a great week!

House was large enough for our group of 19 people and having 8.5 bathrooms was nice, however, there were several issues that were unacceptable for a place that cost this much!
1) The radiant heaters did not work for half of the bedrooms and the temp was -6 degrees F the first night which produced very cold bedrooms (in the fifties and forties), unacceptable. The gas valve was turned off but had lighting instructions. These were checked by maintenance but yielded a gas smell and were left off and space heaters were brought in. if you like electric space heaters taking up half your room, then this is the place for you.
2) There is no light in the house besides a few lamps. Once the sun went down, it was very difficult to see anywhere in the house besides in the dining and kitchen. If it's a cave you wish to stay in, then here you go.
3) Each bathroom only had two towels, no others were onsite. We had a group of 19 staying in the house and only had 16 bath towels. I would expect more from an establishment that charged this much. Even a roach motel gives you 3 bath towels per bathroom.
4) The house itself is aged and needs work and updating. The closet door was falling off, old matted down carpet, a molded and cracked kitchen ceiling, a cracked light in the kitchen and several shower heads leaking water creating a mess in the bathrooms. Twenty years ago this would have been a nice place, now it need to be put out to pasture.
5) Be prepared to not sleep due to the aged and rock hard beds. These were horribly uncomfortable. You would have been better off sleeping in your vehicle, at least then you would have been warm.
On a lighter note, the maintenance staff was great! They responded to our needs by checking heaters that did not work, brought firewood and space heaters so we could have some heat and shoveled off the deck, all after they were supposed to be off work for the night.
We will NEVER waste our money here again.....PERIOD!
Renter be aware.

It’s a really nice house but there were some repairs that should be made which we pointed out to the realtor that rents it out. We loved being close to everything

Vacation 2015
Our family stayed at this lovely home for 5 wonderful nights! It was perfect! Loved that we had enough parking space for all of us and the inside of this home was spacious and lovely. Everyone thought it fabulous to have their own bathroom. :) The river out back was so peaceful to listen to. We will be back!
