All of the reviews are accurate. This home was super clean and close to everything. It’s an older craftsman but kept very well. There are 2 bedrooms in the basement, one on the main level and one on the 2nd story. That’s one thing I thought would be helpful for a description to know with kids!

We were in Hood River for my son’s wedding. The house was perfect. Beautifully decorated and had Eve and more then we needed. The basement was the kids hang out. Great house!!!

The house was wonderful. Very clean and comfortable. It was also a great location for us to explore the area of Mt. Hood, fruit loop, The Dalles, and Columbia River Gorge.

Never tired of that view!

Wonderful home. Back porch with amazing views of Mt Adams and Columbia River. Walked to Double mountain, our favorite brewery, several times :) Home is a classical, old house, but the kitchen is updated and well-stocked.

only issue was downstairs shows was soooooooooooooooooooooo hard to regulate the temperature - otherwise awesome - beautiful views and nice house

Our stay was very comfortable and relaxing. The house is old but charming, and it was perfect for our group. There were many amenities we enjoyed: a very well-stocked modern kitchen, more than ample towels and bathroom supplies, a great backyard, porch space in the front and back of the house, and an amazing view of the Columbia River and Mt. Adams. The neighborhood is perfect for walking and is close to many restaurants and shops as well as Children's Park (just a few blocks uphill). The only downside is that the freeway (I-84) is not far from the house, which you can hear when you're sitting on the back porch or in the backyard. But it's mostly white noise and we didn't hear it while we were indoors.

Beautiful neighborhood. The home was an older but classic old style (1930’s)construction. Beautiful remodeled kitchen. Sofa in front room need to be replaced. Just my opinion…The view is wonderful
Downstairs below grade basement needs a new mattress. This is why 4 star rating. Bedding is absolutely critical for a 5 star rating and also a very easy upgrade

Great location with a beautiful view. Easy walk to downtown shops and restaurants. Very nice kitchen for cooking dinner.

While a beautiful Craftsman Home the check-in process was terrible. When we arrived exhausted from a wedding the day before the place had not been cleaned. It was evidently a screw up and the service worked hard to resolve the issue but it took 2 to 3 hours. A partial credit was suggested, but it never showed up. It was a fine house though with a great view of the Columbia River. I would hesitate to rent a property from Gorge key vacation rentals in the future.

We were in Hood River for our daughter's wedding. The location of the house made the entire stay enjoyable, central to downtown and the Heights. The home worked perfectly and had everything we needed.

This house was great no issues with anything and the view was just outstanding. Will definitely try and stay here again. Thank you

Our family of 3 couples stayed at this beautiful home for a wedding at the orchard. Perfect place and each floor accommodated each couple. The location was perfect with everything needed in walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

Great house for a family; we attended a wedding downtown and walked everywhere. The kitchen is awesome, well appointed and we all love the back porch and breakfast nook. The only thing missing is a coffee maker. There was a Keurig, but for 6 people, a drip coffee pot would have been more convenient. We enjoyed breakfast and evenings out on the back deck. The house is somewhat worn, but I like that it is not fussy and there is so much charm with craftsman finishes. The basement needs some sprucing up, and the small bed is not comfortable. It is musty down there, and floor is cement. A coat of paint throughout the house is needed, and the back deck needs some work. I would not lean on the deck wall, as it is not very sturdy, Parking onsite worked out great. The other beds were comfortable, as far as I know. We slept upstairs and we’ve were very comfortable. I love the huge walk in closet. I would stay here again. You can’t beat the views and location!

Had a great time with our family of 4 + dog. House is very close to town. The kitchen was well stocked and updated, much appreciated. The couches in the living room could certainly use an upgrade. Other than that, great home and we enjoyed our stay

Attended a family wedding, house was great.

We absolutely loved this property. Beautiful scenery and walking distance to downtown area. Basement rooms were in the process of being renovated, so that was the only negative.
4.8
Great view. Great kitchen & dining area. Bedrooms very sufficient and with air-conditioning, thank goodness at 95° weather. Nice deck for Morning coffee & evening wine. A lot of stairs but much privacy that way

Older home with plenty of room and spotless updated bathrooms. Meticulous gardens and a view that takes your breath away. Steps away from all that Mount Hood has to offer. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay in Hood River.

This was a terrific place for 3 generations of family members to gather for a family wedding. The location allowed us to walk to many places or quickly travel to slightly more farflung venues. The yard is stunning and huge--and the view is top-notch. For those who plan to cook, the kitchen is thoughtfully appointed; we fond everything we needed (which is unusual in rental properties), which made feeding everyone much easier. It took us a little thinking and some well-placed fans to make the basement level more comfortable (we were traveling during a heat wave), and while it is truly an unfinished basement, the layout makes it great for families with young children who might want to be nearby where children sleep. The upstairs bedroom is especially quiet, and we loved sitting on the back upper deck to look out on the view.

Columbia House
This property was everything we thought it would be and more! Great location in relation to the bars and downtown area. Very accommodating for larger groups with lots of space and three stories. The host was quick and helpful when communicating. The views from the upstairs patio and yard are unbeatable! We would all stay at this property again when in Hood River. A/C units in most rooms is a huge plus!

Front Row Seat in Hood River
The house is older, the stairs creak but its charming and so welcoming. There's a beautiful new kitchen that's well appointed. The living room is very comfortable. The best parts are the beautiful backyard, the amazing view of the Columbia River from the back porch, and the easy walk to town. Hood River is known for its great wind surfing and we had a front row seat.

House was located close enough to walk to all downtown and riverfront venues. House was very clean with the exception that the downstairs area hasn't been kept heated. It was damp throughout and had some mildewy/moldy areas. We had 1 person, younger, stay downstairs so they didn't have any issues. The rest of us would not have been able to sleep in the bottom floor bedroom. We want to emphasize that the contact was helpful and rest of the home was perfectly fine.

The house had plenty of beds for all the guests and the view of the river was very pretty. The roads around the house were steep and were extremely icy which made it extremely difficult to drive on until we put on our chains.

Hidden Gem
The listing for this property underplayed how beautiful the view was, the immaculate yard, and the proximity to town.
We had 7 adults staying there and it was perfect because we could all go at our own pace. Some of us would hang at the house while others would walk to town. After dinner half of us would opt to walk home and some might ride in a car. It just gave us ultimate flexibility.
The only suggestion I have for the owners would be to invest about $1000 into making the basement feel less like a basement. Throw down some vinyl plank flooring, get better rugs and furniture in the great room and paint the ceilings white. Just a few small tweaks and it would feel so much better. We definitely felt like we needed to charge the people who stayed downstairs less money cause it wasn’t at all to the same level as the upstairs.

This house worked very well for our group of six
Everyone had thier own floor bedroom/bathroom wise
The AC was very welcome in the heat of summer
The view is great, yard huge and location so close to town
Only comment would be: we had to search for bath towels and dish towels and toiletries (soap/shampoo) throughout the house, they were not in the logical places by sinks in bathrooms, but luckily we found them

The house is in a great location and very well stocked with every amenity you could need/want. The whole house has A/C which was wonderful for our stay with temperatures into the 90's. The house is older and shows it's age a little bit but was excellent for our group including 2 young kids. We really enjoyed the beautiful views from the deck overlooking the Columbia river and Mt. Adams. It's a short downhill walk to downtown Hood River but it's a bit of an incline coming back. But finding parking was never an issue in downtown. Thanks for the wonderful stay!
