Experience Madison & UW-Madison by staying in this ‘Coastal Living’ inspired lake front cottage. Downtown Madison and campus events are 15 minutes away, by car, Uber, or taxi. Fully licensed!

Relax on the wood deck that overlooks the lake, enjoy the large lawn, and go swimming, boating, fishing, or kayaking from the pier. Hiking and bike trails are practically right outside the back door. The new Lower Yahara River Trail is less than two blocks away; it connects McFarland to Madison and includes the longest boardwalk bridge constructed solely for non-motorized transportation in North America!

This beautiful, newly redesigned and rebuilt cottage on Lake Waubesa, in McFarland, Wisconsin is a 15 minute drive or Uber ride from downtown Madison, a 5 minute walk to restaurants, bars and shops in McFarland, and minutes away from the outdoor concerts, farmers markets, and other amazing activities Madison and the surrounding areas have to offer.

The living room, dining room, kitchen, first floor bedroom and the upstairs master bedroom have lake views and unparalleled sunsets.

Two first floor bedrooms, two contemporary bathrooms, a living room with TV, dining room with a large table for easy entertaining, and an entry mud room. The upstairs master bedroom has vintage wood beams and the best sunset views on Lake Waubesa. The charming, fully-equipped gourmet kitchen has white cupboards, granite counter tops, and is outfitted with stainless steel appliances that include a dishwasher. All rooms are very spacious.

Huge windows offer breathtaking views of the lake from almost every room. The illuminated Wisconsin State Capitol can be seen at night — along with other lights that twinkle around the lake.

This quintessential lake home — recently renovated by a renowned local interior designer —honors the aesthetics of lake living with vintage furnishings, nautical accessories, comfy furniture, and soft grey colors.

Boat owners are responsible for any damages to the dock. Pets are not allowed for any reason and can result in forfeiture of the entire deposit.

Also note that we are limited to six total guests; this includes overnights, parties and / or events at the property. This is controlled by village ordinance and limited by the owner for the comfort of all our guests. ANY LEASE VIOLATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO THE FORFEITURE OF THE ENTIRE DEPOSIT.

We needed a place for our family to base from while in the area for a family reunion. This was perfect. A lovely house with a beautiful view of the lake. Close to Madison and Stoughton had twin beds for the grandchildren and nice bedrooms for us and ours son and his wife. Plenty of closet room with hangers. the kitchen was fairly well equipped we used the grill several times. it was a easy walk to the Green Lantern for dinner also! We would rent this place again my only suggestion would be that it would be nice to have a washer/dryer available

Everything about this place is wonderful! Clean, comfortable- it is a charming spot on the lake. The neighborhood was safe and we were able to access Madison within minutes. Hope to return soon!

We had a great stay. The lake was peaceful and serene with beautiful sunsets everyday. Only a 15 minute drive from the Capitol and Botanic Gardens. The house was better than advertised. We’d totally stay here again for a long weekend. Just the break we needed.

Clean and well-equipped in a quiet neighborhood and street. Only 15 min from downtown Madison. Great lake view. Note that there is no self-serve laundry on site. Other than that, you’ve got everything you need. I highly recommend this property. Bonus: electric bike rental station and access to Lower Yahara Trail is a short walk away. We biked all the way to downtown Madison and back. Madison and suburbs are very bike-friendly.

Look no further. This place is perfect. We stayed two nights with two other couples. The place is more beautiful in person. Super clean and perfectly situated on the lake. The town has a few bars that are within walking distance from the cottage. We will definitely return.

Great location. Close to Madison/beltline, restaurants/bars within walking distance, great view of the lake. Wonderful windows and views. Nice kitchen with good selection of pots/pans/utensils if you want to cook. Nice decor. Upstairs master suite was wonderful. Downstairs bedrooms a bit small. Thin walls/floor. Make sure you follow binder on kitchen counter at checkout!!!

We had an amazing long weekend on the lake with our family. The house was perfectly located on the lake and within a short drive from UW Madison. Kitchen had all the necessary amenities for a home cooked meal. Would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful accommodations with beautiful view. Great open space and kitchen allowed us to prepare a full Thanksgiving dinner for the family. We appreciated the visit from the bald eagles too!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful lake house! The house is remodeled to perfection with a wall of windows looking out onto the lake. The furniture was comfortable and there was plenty of space for the 6 of us. Easy to get to University of Wisconsin for the football game. Would definitely stay at this property again!

My friends and I enjoyed a relaxing weekend at this lovely lake house! As someone else stated, the pictures really don't even do it justice. Once you walk into the home, you're greeted by a bank of windows framing a stunning view of the lake. The upstairs bedroom also has a bank of windows overlooking the lake. The home is tastefully decorated, immaculate, and the kitchen is well stocked with nice appliances if you care to cook. Jennifer was very kind in letting us check in early for our stay and was communicative and responsive throughout the booking process leading up to our stay. I would not hesitate to rent this property again and would highly recommend it!

We stayed here for our annual father son trip. We wanted to be close to the University of Wisconsin to go see a Badgers game. It was only 15 minutes away and gave us a great home away from home for a few days. The interior of this place is so well done and plenty of space for the 4 of us. Beautifully decorated and very clean. The views from the inside and out are amazing over the lake! We'd definitely come again if we come back to the Madison area.

We spent a week at the lake house and enjoyed it immensely. The location is perfect – right on the lake just a few steps from some bar/restaurants and a bike trail. We rented bikes in town the and kept them at the house for the week. We ended up biking most days and taking long walks other days. The decor of the house is charming and perfect for the location. The two larger bedrooms are quite comfortable – we did not use the 3rd tiny bedroom. There is a galley kitchen, small but clean and functional. Cooking outside on the porch was easy with the grill provided. There were two significant drawbacks to our stay that should be noted. First, the house does seem to have a washing machine in one of the owner closets, guests are not provided access to it. With the limited amount of towels/extra sheets provided and the lack of any housekeeping, this makes for a tricky week long stay. I would not recommend staying longer than three nights due to this. Fortunately we only had 2 people staying for the week so we were able to use the towels for the other bathroom and we used the bed in the second bedroom for half the week. We would have been at a loss if we had another couple or two staying with us. Second, the situation with the neighbors is very odd and somewhat awkward. Although we knew in advance that the standalone garage was separately rented we did not expect the neighbors using “our” dock to access the lake several times during the week. Privacy was an issue!

This is a gorgeously decorated, very well-appointed lakeside house with an incredible view. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you could possibly need and the location was great - super close to Madison, but also so much nearby in McFarland (try Angelo's restaurant!) Only things to note - WiFi is pretty slow and for those looking for a longer stay, there is no washer/dryer available (this is not listed as an amenity in the listing, I just assumed, which you know what they say about assuming....). Overall - great house, great hosts, highly recommend!

This house is a great place to stay for a relaxing vacation. The house was very clean and comfortable, especially the beds. The view of the lake was lovely. It was nice to be able to walk to the Green Lantern Restaurant down the street and McFarland Park. We came to visit our son at UW, less than a 20 minute ride. I would definitely stay here again.

Reunited with high school friends for a long weekend and stayed in this rental. This house may be the best rental I’ve ever stayed in! The house is even nicer and cleaner than the pictures and was extremely well appointed. The beds are extremely comfortable and everything is updated. We had a small issue with a window during the stay and the property manager was out to fix it within minutes. The view is phenomenal and we spent a lot of time sitting by the lake. A very peaceful spot. 5 stars and highly recommend!

This is a lovely cottage on the lake that was perfect for our small family Thanksgiving gathering. Everything was cozy and thoughtfully arranged. We could not get enough of the amazing sunsets, and the nearby walking trail was fantastic. Highly recommend!

The house was very clean and well supplied. The view even in the rain was spectacular! Check in and parking were very easy. The host was easy to communicate with and even let us check in early. Convenient to University of Wisconsin (15 minute Uber). The umbrellas were an added bonus! We definitely would stay here again!

This is a completely updated lake house with all the feeling of a high-end hotel bu the space and privacy of your own house. We wish our weather had cooperated a bit more to enjoy the yard but the views of the lake from the entire house made up for it.

We had a delightful visit to McFarland. Park and biking/walking trail within walking distance with a nice playground for kids. Beautiful sunsets. Good old fashioneds and cheese curds at the Green Lantern down the street. The beds were comfortable and the place was very nicely kept. No complaints at all!
