Great location, but ... 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
First of all the positives, this property is in a great location, 50 yards from the beach. The house is spacious, well equipped and clean. The property was let down by the fact that whilst using the bathroom shower, water leaked through the ceiling in two separate places, into the kitchen below. When we contacted the proprietor we were told she was aware of the issue, and that we should ensure the shower screen was positioned correctly, with the shower head directed away from the screen. Despite this water continued to pour through to the extent we had to leave a bucket and basin on the kitchen floor to catch the water. We have since tried to contact the proprietor and sent her messages which she has read, ignored and now blocked us from further contacting her. We were also charged additionally for towels which were small and threadbare. There was also a bettle infestation in the lounge area which caused us to eat out a few times. This is the first property I have ever given a negative review about and we holiday in the UK loads and always rent. We will be back in Mundesley but not Smugglers Outlook.

The cottage was as spotless as one would hope for at present. Lovely views of the sea and a just a cross of the road for the beach. Beverley was very helpful over the phone on queries with the cottage and local resources. She even turned up personally to check the settings for the hot water which may have been tampered with by a previous visitors. Would happily recommend to others and visit again.

Lovely roomy cottage in a great location, bit of traffic congestion outside as cottage
is on a sharp bend.
A one minute walk takes you to a lovely sandy beach & a very nice cliff top walk.
Shops are also within walking distance.
The kitchen could do with an upgrade but still large and useable.

This is the second year that we have been to Smugglers Lookout in October half term.
This is the second year that we have been to Smugglers Lookout in October half term. We like it so much that we have already booked for next year. The overriding thing for us is the location, literally 1 min from the sandy beach where you can enjoy family time, dog walking and fishing. High up on the cliff top and a short walk into town. The cliff top walks and closeness to the sea. Mundesley itself is quaint, much quieter than Sheringham or Cromer but with a lovely homely feel. Great butchers, fish stalls, little cafes, skate park, golf course and Post Office, greengrocers and actually everything you could want. A fantastic fish and chip shop. Close enough to be able to go around the coast to other places. The locals are very friendly and the owners are lovely, extremely helpful and very obliging. The cottage itself sleeps 7, 6 adults and a child. The smaller child's bed is in the large bedroom which also has a sink. The other large bedroom has a shower cubicle, not as efficient as the main one but perfectly adequate. The bathroom has a jacuzzi bath and powerful over the bath shower. Separate upstairs toilet which is always useful. The heating system is brilliant as is the abundance of hot water. The cottage is large with a big kitchen with every utensil and pot you can think of and much more crockery than is needed for 7 people. A great side porch for all coats and boots. The living room/ dining room is large with 2 open fires and this cottage really is spacious for 7 people. Outside there is a good amount of space with a lovely side garden. Parking for 3 cars, one inside and 2 on the drive. We have 2 large cars. The only downside for us is still the sofas, whilst they are different from the photos and larger than the ones in the photos they are really low and for us uncomfortable especially for the older family members we have. For us if these were changed then we would give this cottage a 10. We actually took 2 fold up chairs to get over the issue. This however didn't spoil our week and we just love it there, our grandchildren absolutely love Smugglers Lookout and once again our granddaughter celebrated her birthday whilst we were there. For anyone this is a fantastic seaside experience in a great cottage.
