Fantastic house in great location. We were on holiday with 14 of our family ranging in ages from 5-75 years and all had a wonderful time. We plan to return again soon.

The house is in a great location, peaceful and quiet with great views. The house is plenty big enough for large groups (are party was 11 ranging from 6 months to 69). The beds do need some attention as some of our party did find them uncomfortable but the rest of the facilities were fine. It would have been good to have access to the recycling bins too. John, the owner was very helpful and provided a lovely welcome package which was appreciated. If the beds were replaced we would return.

A family party of 16 ranging from 1year Old to 75. The house has plenty of room to accommodate us all and the gardens are super! The view from the front of the house is stunning! I would love to wake up to that every morning! The town of Portpatrick is beautiful and there is plenty to do in Dumfries & Galloway for all ages. We all had a fabulous time and only wish we had booked for another week

Brilliant holiday for the 15 of us - well set up for large extended family groups.

Excellent stay. Very helpful owner. Some of the group thought the beds were not the comfiest. Would definitely book again.

The house was large enough for 3 families and had plenty of room. It was lovely and clean on arrival and it was great that the majority of the rooms were en-suite. The views were spectacular, especially on New Year's Eve where we could see all the fireworks being set off in the harbour - amazing. John, the host was great and helped where necessary.
The kitchen was fully equipped and great to have a double oven and hob. The fridge freezer was perfect! There were no actual cupboards empty to store food, but we managed. More cupboards would have been brilliant.
A couple of tiny things could improve your stay at Braefield, although it was a fantastic week. The mattresses definitely need replacing, everyone mentioned springs coming through and not sleeping very well. There are no recycling boxes, so when you have a large party of people, there is a lot of rubbish - especially the bottles being over New Year! We had to go out and find bottle banks etc.
Hooks on the back of the doors and bathroom doors - a little thing, but would make hanging wet towels and dressing gowns easier.
The house is a little dated and could do with some modernisation definitely.
The week was not marred by these smaller details, but it would have made the stay more comfortable.
Thank you for the loan of the wonderful house.

We enjoyed our holiday very much, the place lovely and clean.
We enjoyed our holiday very much, the place lovely and clean. We had trouble with the dishwasher it was fixed within hours. All the beds where comfortable and all the showers worked well. Our only negative was that the sofas could do with and up grade. The garden was great for the children to play in.

A fine house in an excellent location. The owner was very welcoming. Our only criticisms are of a very hard and narrow bed in the downstairs bedroom; winter duvets on the beds; and a vacuum that made life difficult cleaning up before we left.

This was our second family break at Braefield and we wouldn't hesitate to go back a third time. I honestly couldn't say who had more fun, the adults or the kids. The house has everything you could possibly need for a break away and i can't recommend it highly enough.

We didn’t get to have our stay. I emailed hold my booking. I’ve tried calling numerous times. I’ve emailed the owner. I’ve tried to email a rebooking for the same time next year. I was booking this on behalf of a group of friends and I’m really stressed that I don5 have a definitive answer - made worse by receiving this.

We had a fantastic weekend with the work family here. Very sociable. Smashing big dining table. Very comfortable rooms and beds. Plenty of space. One downside was no downstairs toilet, but we left one bedroom downstairs empty. Lovely wee touches when we arrived flowers, milk tea and coffee and especially ice in the freezer! Fantastic views, not too far away from the village. Central heating kept the house at a comfortable temperature. Lots of parking spaces, easy to find. Will definitely book again

Great house, we tried to hoover before we left, hoover didn't work! shower downstairs was a little tired, could do with a re vamp. For some reason there was a set of plyers next to the toilet when we arrived? There wasn't much information/booklet to go with the property that we have had in other houses we have rented.
