Lovely, spacious, clean and characterful cottage, in a stunning village.
Very well equipped with bbq and all the kitchen tools you could need.
A shame the pub next door wouldn’t have us for food, drinks, lunch or dinner on any of the 4 days we were there, not leaving many choices for local amenities but as the cottage garden was so nice and we were so lucky with the weather we just had bbqs.
The Royal Oak inn in Withypool was the polar opposite however, great food and a very warm welcome, deffo worth checking out!
Would definitely recommend and will hope to stay at this cottage again!

A really beautiful location for a lovely cottage. We were a three generation family on holiday and the house was perfect with lots of space to spread out - great lounge with a log fire perfect for early mornings and evenings spent as a family. Kitchen was well equipped and the dining area was well used. Very good showers (3) meant we could all get ready in the morning. The garden is also lovely with space to either play with children/dog and lots of sitting areas. The area is beautiful with a great little shop next door (part of the pub) and lots of walks from the door. We would love to go back.

Lovely spacious cottage in peaceful setting.
Lovely spacious cottage in peaceful setting. Like stepping back in time. No real amenities in the village but not too far from larger towns.
Beautiful countryside and walking nearby, nature on your doorstep. Plenty to do without having to drive too far.
The only criticism is that without mobile service in the village the WiFi in the cottage didn’t reach to the other end of the house which made communication difficult at times.

Had a great week with my family, went on some lovely walks, had a couple of excellent meals in Royal Oak pub next door although had to book the day before. We explored the beautiful villages nearby although the country lanes were a bit scary! Plenty to see round and about would definitely recommend to anyone, also anyone we spoke to were lovely and helpful.

We chose the venue based on the number of rooms we needed, not easy to find, and the convenience of a pub/restaurant next door. A shame we weren't encouraged when we booked the cottage to book early for the restaurant where the man in charge seemed to take great delight in telling us how we should have booked well in advance as he had no spaces for the next three days, nor was there really anywhere to stand and drink (we are retired men, not yobs), despite assuring us it was a pub. We had one drink and left. The accommodation was perfect for us and we luckily found a great mini-bus taxi driver based in Minehead to covey the seven of us around. Our friendly taxi driver could give Customer Service lessons to the man running the pub/restaurant who also seemed to delight in telling us we wouldn't get a taxi easily!

An ideal house for a family gathering which is what we had, everything you need is available and meets your needs. Hirers should be aware this is an old property with all the quaintness and idiosyncrasies of a property of its age; the floorboards squeak, its comfortable rather than contemporary, etc. but for a lovely relaxing time in a beautiful village with the joys of Exmoor on your doorstep its ideal. We enjoyed it and had a great time.

Not sure what local amenities means.
Not sure what local amenities means. One of the nicest things about the property and the village is that there are very few and the pub appears to be quiet, to say the least.

This has been by far my favourite holiday to date.
This has been by far my favourite holiday to date. The cottage is just beautiful. The location is wonderful and we had the very best of weeks staying there. We feel very privileged to have stayed here and cannot wait to come back. The house is spacious so the 8 of us that stayed were never on top of one another. There were 2 lounges so the children had their own room to play in. The showers were fantastic better than many hotels and with 3 bathrooms there was never a queue. Fantastic Central heating which took minutes to warm the house and a beautiful real fire in one of the lounges had a wonderful log burner. The village itself is stunning, I felt like I was in a Miss Marple book. The pub serves great food. We would not hesitate to recommend our friends to stay here.
