This cottage is very clean, spacious and just beautiful, it has everything you need for your stay. The views are absolutely amazing, only about 15 steps till you are on the beach! Great view of the golf course. Hotel and the 19th hole bar are a couple of minutes walk. Paul and Linda, the owners are a lovely couple! Would highly recommend this cottage!

After a very exhausting Christmas & New year due to flu we decided a few days away were needed.
After a very exhausting Christmas & New year due to flu we decided a few days away were needed.
We didn’t want to drive far and we also needed dog friendly.
We googled(as you do)
We found Driftwood
Wow this looks good
Long story short
We booked for a few nights
I was impressed that the owners got in touch just after booking to give us more info
We arrived and I was
truly overwhelmed at how fantastic the house and views were
I truly believe the pics on website do not do this holiday home justice.
The owners came minutes after we arrived
What a lovely couple and they were so helpful and kind.
The holiday home is amazing and so warm & cozy
The beach on the doorstep
The views
Everything you could possibly need in the house
Most people want a summer break by the sea , which I would say would be fantastic at driftwood
But if a cozy few nights listening to waves crashing outside while chilling in your jammies in front of a log fire sounds good this is the place to be

What a perfect place to celebrate 2 birthdays and New Year for our extended family of nine people.
What a perfect place to celebrate 2 birthdays and New Year for our extended family of nine people. The house is perfectly situated on the beach with views over the sand, sea and sky and local golf course. The house is spacious with room for everyone to find their own space and Linda and Paul have thought of everything for a warm personal welcome and perfect stay. The house is immaculately clean, warm and cosy with large and comfy beds and 3 bathrooms. The access to the beach through a small gate makes it perfect for dog walkers. The kitchen is well equipped and there is constantly hot water. There is excellent WiFi and plenty of games, videos and books should there be bad weather. The house is accessible for those with limited mobility though this obviously depends on individual needs. It also caters for the needs of small children. The peace and quiet of this house is perfect and Linda and Paul are very considerate hosts. Thank you very much.

Linda and Paul have spared no expense in making Driftwood a comfortable and spacious place to stay,
Linda and Paul have spared no expense in making Driftwood a comfortable and spacious place to stay, a real home from home. The facilities are excellent and of high quality and the location stunning - so quiet and peaceful with panoramic views from both inside the cottage and in the substantial garden of Criffel, the Solway Firth and the Lake District. The garden is secure for dogs, and there are wildflowers, seabirds and even otters, not to mention rabbits grazing the lawn! There are fossils to be picked up on the beach and dark skies for stargazing at night. Magical!

The cottage was lovely and very dog friendly.
The cottage was lovely and very dog friendly. Great walks along the beach and we enjoyed a few bbq's using the fire pit. We had a small problem with the hot water but Peter fixed it immediately.
The hot tub is no longer there, so can't make a review, although we had so much to do we didn't miss it.
All the family loved the cottage and holiday and we hope to be back.

I can not recommend this holiday home too highly; the photographs do not do it justice.
I can not recommend this holiday home too highly; the photographs do not do it justice. The hosts were so generous with a welcome basket containing among other things, a lovely bottle of wine, shortbread and a pack of quality coffee and there was limitless supplies of firewood for the log-burner and every type of cleaning product for the house you could possibly need. The rooms were spacious with stunning views and a lovely seaside vibe. The beds were extra king-size with very comfortable mattresses and high quality bedding. The garden with access to the beach was ideal for our young children and the fire-pit was amazing. The weather was dreadful all week at the end of May with heavy showers but despite this Driftwood was all we could have asked for in a holiday home.

Beautiful sea side stay
The hosts were amazing! They made us feel so welcome in their beautiful seaside cottage. Plenty of room, lovely garden & close to shops in the little village. We enjoyed our stay so much & really hope to visit again one day.
