We enjoyed an Easter break at Gilbert’s Warrant. It’s a traditional slate cottage, close to all the amenities in Keswick. The property was clean and homely, with everything you could need to enjoy your stay. There is no parking, but we found plenty of spaces nearby.

We loved our stay in Keswick .
We will definitely choose to stay here again

On the plus side, the property is well located, quiet (we stayed in February) and suitable for a short stay. It was well maintained, comfortable, clean and the kitchen was well stocked with plates, cutlery, pans etc, including salt and pepper. It has a small garden which would be lovely in the summer.
On the negative side, the bed on the top floor creaks and is only suitable for 1 adult or 2 small children and the tap in the main bathroom is not secure, the whole tap moves when turned. We wanted to use the wood burner but they only provided 2 small logs and we ran out of toilet paper in the main bathroom.
My main issue though was their communication as I had asked (on 3 different websites) whether we could book for 2 nights instead of 3 but I didn't receive a single reply and we ended up paying for 3 nights but only using 2! They must've received my messages because they did reply to a later query.
Overall however, the property itself was a good standard and we would stay there again.

Gilbert’s Warrant is good accommodation but there was a smell that we thought was drainage but couldn’t put our finger on where it was coming from.We feel it costs very little to supply basic cleaning products and bin bags for the property ,this surely helps the house keeper.

Lovely cottage with everything you could need. Very clean and all furniture and beds comfortable and well looked after. In a great location for walking into Keswick. Although no allocated parking we had no trouble parking the 2 cars in the street outside even though it was school holiday time.

Not the cosiest cottage we have stayed in in Keswick, though we did not light the fire.
Not the cosiest cottage we have stayed in in Keswick, though we did not light the fire. Decor modern but lacking detail. Sofas a little tired. Dining table not comfortable (benches) . Kitchen adequate apart from the flashing fridge light. Upstairs , beds were very comfortable, but extremely steep stairs to the top floor. Outside secure for the dog. The main problem was not being informed about the renovation of next door. Lots of noise, banging and drilling starting early in the morning. Near the river and park for walks, not too bad a walk into town centre. Love Keswick. Very dog friendly. Will be back. But not sure at this cottage.

Had a lovely break, have stayed in the area before. Only negative was the house next door was being renovated and we hadn’t been notified. Extremely noisy during the day, luckily we had good weather so were able to stay out.
