These properties are set in a small cluster of houses along a no-through road, just over 1 mile from the heart of Frome, a bustling market town with weekly markets and an ever-growing popular monthly market which takes over the town centre. There are cobbled, pedestrianised streets with rivulets running down, and an array of cafés, individual shops, leisure and entertainment. Herons’ Weir (ref EXY) and adjoining Dippers’ Folly (ref EXZ) have been converted from an old industrial workshop building and have been fitted out to a high standard with oak doors and furniture, and marble floors with underfloor heating on the ground floor. Each bedroom has its own bathroom or shower room, some of which are en-suite. The building sits next to the River Mells facing Jeffries Mill sluice and weir. Both cottages have riverside sitting areas from which to relax with a drink and enjoy the wildlife and ever changing river setting - there are always plenty of birds and you may be lucky enough to see the heron, dippers, kingfisher, fish jumping and otters. There are many picturesque villages within the region, offering great country and riverside walks, with a welcoming pub at the end. The area makes an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding attractions, including Stonehenge, Longleat House, Safari Park and Gardens, Wells Cathedral and Bishops Palace, the spiritual town of Glastonbury with its abbey and tor, the amazing Cheddar Gorge, the designer outlet village at Street, a number of National Trust properties and the Roman city of Bath, with its Georgian buildings, sweeping crescents, spa baths and lively culture. This place is a little gem! A beautiful cottage in a stunning setting, what more could anyone want. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything needed for our break. We loved sitting with the bifold doors open, listening to the weir as we had our morning coffee, just bliss. If you are looking for a place to get away from it all and unwind, you need look no further than Herons Weir. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

This cottage is superb! Everything about it is superb! We really don’t want people to know how lovely it is, we want to keep it to ourselves. So much hard work goes into keeping it beautifully clean and the attention to detail is just amazing. We arrived on the Friday and didn’t go out until we ran out of food! Just sat in the garden overlooking the river waiting for the Kingfisher to flash by. We’ve visited twice now and will definitely be coming back. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Beautiful accommodation for our extended family of 5. Loads of room. The fishing was a bonus for those who enjoy the sport. Only complaint was that the living room furniture was a little uncomfortable (slid down the leather and not much support).

Fantastic place to stay.
Fantastic place to stay.
Fantastic place to stay. Weather permitting to sit outside and watch the birds and listening to the water flowing down the weir, also if you like fishing take a rod. i have never stayed at a property that is so well equipped. I will say you do need a car to go out especially if you are not a good walker. We used a cab in the evening to go into town to eat. Plenty of places to visit from 30 to 60 minutes drive away.
