Flatrock was great. This was one of our best vacations. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Charlie was the perfect host providing excellent communication the whole way through with an entertaining sense of humor. He keeps his place clean and well equipped. Water access was great for everyone whether it's the stairs down into sandy entry or diving off the end of the dock. The kids had fun playing pool in the basement. We loved the Sirius XM radio and had it playing all week. The dinner table seats eight comfortably and was great for gamenights. It's a perfect spot half way up the east side of Long Lake, so you get awesome sunsets and views of Mount Washington and being the same distance away from both Naples on the south side and Harrison on the north side made for awesome sunset trips on the boat to get ice cream after dinner. We never really had to leave the house as we had everything we needed to have the most fulfilling vacation and left completely satisfied. Charlie, thank you for making Flatrock available. We'll never forget our time at your wonderful place.

My family was gathering in Naples, Maine for a reunion and rather than just rent a hotel for the weekend of the reunion, I decided to rent a house on the lake for a week. Flying all the way in from Texas I wasn’t about to just pop in for the weekend. The house was exactly what I was looking for. Even though it was a little farther up the road from Naples than I originally wanted the drive was easy and the location was peaceful and relaxing. The house was prettier in person than the photos on-line. The kitchen was very well stocked (and even had a crock pot) which was great because we stayed in for most meals. I spent lots of time just sitting on the dock with my book while my mom hung out in the sunroom. We even built a fire in the outdoor fire pit. Charlie was super easy to communicate with as well.
We loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone.

The owner was very quick to respond to my inquiries and gave clear instructions for arrival day. The place is absolutely beautiful with high ceilings and amazing views of the lake. There’s a lot of room to hang out with the entire family. There are a ton of board games for your use. The kitchen has a lot of cooking utensils, plates, pots, and pans plus tons of spices. We enjoyed the fire pit and relaxing out on the dock. The sunsets are gorgeous from the dock. The owner provided a very detailed listing of things to do in the area. We had fun swimming, golfing at a local course and having some wonderful meals nearby. We will definitely be back!

Every detail was thought of at this beautiful lakeside home. Our family of 5 stayed for a week and enjoyed swimming, boating (we rented a motorboat for 2 days) and having happy hour on the dock. The owner is great and the house has everything you could want in a lake house. Look forward to staying again.

We had a wonderful week staying at Flatrock, everything was as advertised and in top notch upkeep and order. Wonderful family vacation and was a fantastic week. Charlie was a very gracious host and very accomodating. We even left some personal belongings behind and Charlie is mailing our belongings to us.

Our expectations were exceeded with our arrival at this lovely property. Lots of space, well maintained & stocked. Beautiful new large deck and wonderfully clean lake front setting. We thoroughly enjoyed the swimming, even with a few days of rain, we had lots of space for games and quiet spaces for down time. We definitely would recommend it and hope to be back again! Charlie was super easy to communicate with and very accommodating!

Great lakeside property. Lots of room, good applances and kitchenware. We had family and friends staying with us and there was room for everyone. Be advised that one of the upstairs double beds is in the open hallway betwen bedrooms and is a bit less private. A pool table and shiny new washer and drier in the basement were big pluses. Although the weather was rainy, musch of the time, when the sun came out we enjoyed canoeing and swimming off the dock. Great sunsets when weather cooperates!

Gorgeous lake views, beautiful home and the amazing convenience of a dock. We met up with family and were able to take our boat out for a few great rides. Charlie has the house well stocked which made traveling with littles so much easier. We would love to come back for longer!

Had a marvelous week at Flatrock. The house was immaculate when we arrived with music playing and windows open and just perfect. The property is beautiful with great access to lake. We have been to Long Lake many times but just loved this place. Charlie was easy to work with and answered all questions in a timely manner. Thank you again

Wonderful and relaxing
Our stay at Flatrock was great. We have been to the area numerous times over the past years and this was by far the best. The house and location were amazing. The sunsets near Mt. Washington were spectacular. The house was spacious and clean. Enough room for 6 of us.

Wonderful vacation!
We had a fantastic and very relaxing week at this beautiful home! We all had a blast fishing off the dock, as well as being able to jump in the water right off the end of dock! The property has multiple areas, both inside and out, to sit and relax, which made the home very comfortable. The home's location is perfect for gorgeous sunsets over the lake, and it's located on a very quiet area of the lake. The only night "noise" was from the loons! We cooked frequently during our week here, and between the well stocked kitchen pots/pans/cooking tools and the grill, we had everything we needed.
Charlie was a pleasure to work with, and quickly responded to any and all questions I had. It's very apparent that he take pride in his home, and cares about ensuring a good visit. The listing and all communication very accurately represented his home, as do everyone else's positive reviews.

Lovely home for 2 families. Excellent weather, the dock and lake couldn't have been more perfect for floating and watching kids jump for hours. Very peaceful and quiet. House was clean, enjoyed eating supper out on the deck in the evenings.

Nice house, easy check in, great location
We were here with brothers, sister.s and our spouses, we had plenty of room, the weather wasn't very good, but we were not crowded at all inside. Only negative was the house is in a real need of a deep cleaning. My wife the insomniac spent one night washing down all the cupboard doors and wood work in the kitchen, All the woodwork and walls need to be washed down and the spiders webs vacuumed out between the windows and screens. Overall though the place is really nice.

Peace and Serenity
Charlie's place is absolutely beautiful, calm and serene. The house is so open and welcoming with great westerly views of the lake to get all the afternoon sun and beautiful sunsets. There is everything you need to be active (canoe, boat slip, games) or just hang out on the deck overlooking the water. Great fun for the whole family and a great location!

Start to a family tradition!
The weather was perfect and the water was great! Lodging was fine, did some cleaning when we first arrived, plenty of room, nice having a washer and dryer ( had two babies ). Only big bummer was the oven was not working, had to adjust our menu and get creative with a crock pot and the grill with the food we pre-prepared for the week. We all did have a wonderful vacation!

The perfect lake vacation!
The perfect lake vacation! Nice quiet spot halfway down the lake on the east side with the perfect views of the sunset. Beautiful, spacious house. Plenty of room, yet the open floor plan made spending time together easy and comfortable. The lake water was 79° and you could dive and swim in the beautifully clean water right off the dock. We rented a boat and the dock even head whips to secure it, which was great. Easy launching of our kayaks and paddle boards. We could paddle to one of the nearby islands and pick fresh wild blueberries! A quintessential Maine experience! Charlie was incredibly responsive and everything we needed was right at our fingertips. The Flat rock survival guide thoughtfully laid out everything we needed to know about the area. We had an amazing time and would rent here again in a heartbeat! Highly recommended!

Great Rental Experience, and Beautiful Home
We can't say enough about how great this lake home was for our family. The home itself was well maintained, clean, and fully equipped. We spent the week swimming (it was in the 90s for most of the week), reading in the shade, paddling, playing pool, and even managed to hike Hawk Mountain on the coolest of the days. Charlie was extremely helpful, and provided all the info one could want about the house and the area. We highly recommend this property!

Amazing owner - amazing house
I can't give this house enough praise. Everything was amazing - I'll start with the owner:
Charlie is an extremely helpful renter. He goes above and beyond to make sure his guests feel welcome and prepared for their trip I can say that we desperately searched for a house to stay at over New Years Eve, and we encountered a lot of difficult and unresponsive owners. Charlie is not one of them! He even sent us a nice itinerary of things in the area beforehand, which was a great touch :)
The house - also amazing. The house sits on a beautiful piece of land that overlooks a lake. The lake was frozen over enough so we were able to take a nice walk across it (only recommended in subdegree weather!!!!). There's a lovely view of the mountains as well.
The inside is just as lovely. The family room features high ceilings with an open kitchen. There's a pool table in the basement which was a big hit for our friends. There's also a nice area upstairs featuring a futon and small TV. This is a great area to relax if you are looking for some quiet time. Lastly - Charlie had a great handbook ready for us when we entered featuring things to do in the area, FAQ's about the house, ect. Very helpful!!
Overall, if you are looking for a place to stay - this is it! I won't ever consider anything else for my New England getaways :) Thank you Charlie for a lovely stay! My friends and I can't thank you enough for such a great weekend!

Great Summer Vacation at Flat Rock August, 2017
We found Flat Rock to be a great place for our family vacation. The owner, Charlie, made us feel very welcome upon our arrival. He left us a bottle of wine and fresh flowers in addition to helpful information to make our trip enjoyable! He was a pleasure to deal with. This house has absolutely beautiful views of the lake from every room inside, as well as on the deck, in the back yard & from the dock! The property is private and well maintained and perfect for relaxing on the hammock, playing lawn games, & sitting around the campfire at night! The lake was clear and perfect for swimming and snorkeling around the private beach area. The home is in a great location to enjoy a leisurely canoe ride along the shoreline and also to travel by boat or jet ski to nearby Harrison or Naples to visit the restaurants and shops. The inside of the home was very clean, spacious, open and beautiful and provided all of the amenities we needed as described! We had a perfect vacation week here and will be renting again next summer. We would recommend Flat Rock to anyone looking for a true Maine lake vacation!
