I believe this is the 5th time we've stayed at Bee Cottage. We are so happy to be able to visit and stay in such a lovely well cared for property. We come up every year to spend 2 weeks visiting with family, and we look forward to this trip every year. Shirley and Rich have made a cottage that feels like home and we hope to return for many more years. They are the best hosts ever

We enjoyed our stay at the Bee House. Comfortable bed, beautiful views and fast internet! Would recommend a bigger TV and better couch setup so more than one person can enjoy. Otherwise, it exceeded our expectations.

We really enjoyed our stay. Great location that was close to all of the outdoor activities we wanted to do. The property was peaceful, secluded and relaxing which is exactly what we were looking for. Would definitely stay again!

A lovely light-filled space. Very comfortable & private. We loved our week here in this special & well designed cabin with a deeply personal touch in Shirleys pottery, musical instruments, & art work. Lots of wild life around & books to identify. Several outdoor spaces to sit & read or watch the birds. Yoga mat provided for early morning session on the balcony. We enjoyed evenings around the fire pit or by the creek & just a few minutes drive to the charming little town of Trumansburg.

We had a lovely stay at the Bee House. The house was very clean and spacious. We loved the large picture windows and enjoyed the view of the grounds. Shirley is a great host and was incredibly easy to communicate with. I would definitely stay at the Bee House again next time I am in the Ithaca area.

The Bee House was a peaceful, pristine little house, perfect for our short visit to see our son at Cornell. A 15 min drive to Cornell and right near the quaint town of Trumansburg with so many great dining options, the house was in a perfect location. Shirley keeps an impeccably clean house- no shoes allowed which is how we live at our own home. Beautiful wood flooring, cozy bedrooms, and nice layout. tons of light and views from the walls of windows overlooking the running creek behind the property. Shirley makes gorgeous pottery and leaves a little gift for guests. It was just such a nice little place -we will return!

What a wonderful house we happened upon. Everything we needed was provided and more, and the handmade touches made it feel all the more special. We especially loved the views from the large windows and sitting on the balconies and riverside chairs as the weather allowed. Everything was comfortable and bright. Add in easy communication with our hosts, and this house is hard to beat. If we’re ever in the area again, we’d love to stay right here. Thank you!

The location was great, within 10 minutes of great hikes, good food, and so many wine or cider locations to choose from. The house was very clean, quite, and was the perfect weekend get away!
The owners were friendly and great to work with. Also loved all the pottery Shirley made that was in the house.

Photos do not do the house and the surrounding area justice! The house was very nice and well maintained. My family loved it. The creek is gorgeous! We saw two deer drinking water while sitting on the lawn chairs. It was a view the city life can not offer. All the amenities were provided. Owner was easy to reach via app. I recommend everyone to stay here. We were able to go all around Seneca Lake. The location is very close to Toughannock State Park. The waterfall is a view none should miss. Anyone who chooses to stay here, please do yourself a favor and take a walk around the area early in the morning. The sunrise over vast fields and mountain is a sight to behold. Overall, 10/10.

My family and I stayed at the Bee House for several days at the end of August 2023 as part of a wider trip through Upstate NY and Niagara Falls. The house and the scenery were beautiful. Decorated with the homeowners' artwork, and large windows overlooking the creek and picturesque greenery, the seclusion was very satisfying. My wife loved going on the deck in the mornings with a coffee to breathe in the serenity. We capped off our trip with smores by a campfire in the yard.
I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The homeowners were wonderful and communicative, everything was very clean, and the house was fully supplied with anything you could need. We will definitely return if its available next time we are heading through the area.

Reuniting with old friends at the Bee House was the perfect setting for relaxation and conversation. The house is comfortable, and the setting is beautiful. Everything we needed to make meals and sleep well was provided. Shirley is a great host and even showed us her pottery studio. We enjoyed her artistry and all of the thoughtfully chosen artwork on display in the house.

We were hoping to spend some more time outside in the yard and around the firepit. Outside was not well lit for outdoor enjoyment in the evening.

Our family loved the house! The wall of windows offered lovely views, and Shirley’s amazing artwork throughout the house was a wonderful touch. Every detail has been thoughtfully taken care of. Shirley was a pleasure to work with, and all of the directions and recommendations were super helpful. It was great to be so near a variety of state parks, wineries, and more. We would totally recommend this property.

Our second stay at the Bee House was just as lovely as the first. Our two kids absolutely loved running around the yard, spotting deer, and catching fireflies. The layout is great, really maximizing the space, and the hosts are super responsive. We had a great week away!

We had a wonderful time at Bee House. It was very relaxing. The house was extremely clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed. Some outlets didn't work and Shirley made every attempt to get them repaired but we had a work-around so it wasn't a problem. The property was lovely, just like the pictures. Couldn't have asked for a better week. Thank you, Shirley and Rich

Very comfortable place to stay. The entire place was full of personal details and artwork. Everything we needed to cook a meal was there. The beds were comfortable and the view was very pretty. The property itself is very private and you can't even really see it from the road. The hostess, Shirley, was very attentive to our needs and was able to give information about what to do and where to eat in the area. We will definitely come back again!!

This is a very pleasant house overlooking a babbling creek. Modern interior, conveniences, etc., and clean. Easy access to Ithaca (where our son was visiting Cornell for a couple of days) and surrounding areas. Communicative and accommodating host whose art work (pottery in particular) graces this home. Looking forward to a return visit!

Almost perfect for our relaxed retreat. We really enjoyed our stay.
Trivia: The slope of the land down to the creek made for a somewhat difficult "climb" back up for an octogenarian.

Our family of 5 just enjoyed a nice getaway (first of pandemic times!) at this property. It's a cozy house with all the modern amenities you'd want located in a lovely, serene setting about 15 mins from Ithaca. It was exactly as described and communication with the owner was top notch. We enjoyed reading about the history of the property; it clearly means a lot to the owners who have put a lot of time and effort into it. Tons of shade, beautiful creek in the back yard, grill, fire pit, and more. We had zero issues throughout the whole process and our stay.
Only thing worth noting is the 2nd bedroom is a bit tiny with a small-ish bed in it. We expected this and were fine with it. (We gave the 3 kids the bigger bedroom and were fine for a few nights with a smaller bed). Owner made sure extra cots were available which worked great for our 4 yr old.
Thank you for making our first time VRBO experience an amazing one!
