About this house rental
This 3 bedroom, 2 bath home is located on Cowan Creek at Weiss Lake in Northeast Alabama. The fully furnished home features spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Cowan Creek is a favorite location for wake boarding, kayaking, paddle boarding, water skiing, and fishing. The master bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed. There are twin beds in each of the other two bedrooms. And, there are twin beds in the loft. The great room also has a sleeper sofa. Towels and linens are provided. The kitchen is fully furnished and there is a washer/dryer in the laundry room. The home also has internet access (wifi), high-definition satellite TV and DVD player. There is a parking pad for a boat trailer or small RV and adequate parking for two additional vehicles in the driveway (garage is used for owner storage and is not accessible). The home has two exterior security cameras and one interior camera (which can be turned off for privacy).. The deck has adirondack chairs, and table with chairs. A gas grill is also available. There is a concrete walk down to the dock which has a power outlet for boat charges or other equipment and a fish cleaning station (the dock does not have lights). There are chairs on the dock. Located on a natural point, the dock is a great area for swimming, with a ladder provided. In addition to the deck off the back of the house, there is a sitting area closer to the lake with a pergola and incredible views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Boats can be launched nearby at Cowan Creek Resort or Roosters; both are less than one mile away. There are many scenic areas and trails nearby, most notably Little River Canyon National Preserve and Cherokee Rock Village. Canoe and kayak trips on Terrapin Creek is also a popular nearby outing. There are two nesting pairs of Bald Eagles on Cowan Creek; Herons and Egrets are common sightings along with other water fowl. Migrating pelicans can be seen on the lake from late October into January.

Great weekend at this house. Couldn't ask for for. Fully stocked kitchen and waking up to that view is impressive. Everything all of the other reviews stated. Will stay here again and rent a waverunner for sure! Bring some floats at the minimum!

great house.
We had an item taken from the dock - left to get a sandwich for just a short time and came back with tackle box stolen. We spoke with neighbor and the neighbor told us of the history of items being taken. Made us VERY cautious the rest of the stay. So SAD there are thieves in the area .

We were in town for my son's wedding, with family from all over the U.S. There was plenty of room for everyone, lots of parking (additional parking to the side of the driveway). Beautiful views, nice, clean, etc.

We had an amazing weekend. My niece got married at Dry Creek Chapel. The house was conveniently located. The weather was perfect! The lake view was amazing!! Thank you for letting us stay at your house. We had a wonderful time!

We enjoyed our week end at the lake very much, The house was lovely, well kept, nicely furnished and the owner was very easy to deal with. As mentioned in previous comments, the hill to the lake is very steep, I had to steady myself at one point going back up. . Also, the loft is a loft, the girls enjoyed going up there to get away from the adults during the day, but as a sleeping area, it is less than ideal. But overall, our first experience at a lake house was very positive and we look forward to many more trips.

This house is in a great location with a beautiful view. House is very open and clean. Back porch is great to sit on and drink your morning coffee. Kitchen is great sized as well. Only downside to the property is the hill that leads you to and from the lake. It is very steep and would be very hard for older people to walk back and forth from the lake. Dock is great, kinda small but it fit us 6 just fine.

Very nice home with an amazing place to sit and watch sunrise/sunset. Big enough for the whole family plus friends. Great place to travel with a boat or motorcycle.
We go to the area for Terrapin Creek so if you have kayaks take them. We didn’t need it but they have a small area in the side to park a trailer. As always nothing is perfect and while it didn’t bother us I should mention the walk from the house to the dock is kinda steep so if you have trouble navigating terrain maybe consider the view from the porch.

My husband and I grew up on the "crooked road" and it brought back so many memories. The area was beautiful and the house was perfect to enjoy the quite atmosphere and beautiful lake.

Came to the area to go to my daughter baby shower had a blast nice clean home with good communication from renters during booking. Kids fished swam and enjoyed time with their friends. Beautiful view!

Everything about this property was perfect for our family. The kitchen was super well equipped, plenty of extra linens, comfortable furnishings, and the lake was so refreshing!!

The overall stay was nice. Drugs were found in the closet of the property. Owner was contacted and local police were notified. Does make you wonder some things?

The house is amazing. Feels brand new, very clean and beautiful! The walk to the dock is a bit tough, especially for the grandparents. The kids made the trek multiple times daily and the rest of us were strategic in our trips. Lake was perfect for swimming and fishing. We would stay here again!

We take several three or four day trips each year. We usually go to the beaches on the Alabama Gulf Coast. However, we decided to do something different for this one. It was a last minute trip, so I didn’t take much time looking. I picked this condo based on reviews.
Everything was excellent. The place is clean and well stocked with everything you need. This time of year the lake and neighborhood was quiet. There are a few restaurants in the area but check the schedule. Some are closed on Sun, Mon, Tue. The little Mexican restaurant nearby was good. We ate there twice.
After reading a number of reviews that mentioned the steep slope down to the dock, I expected Mount Everest. I fished twice a day, so I made a lot of trips up and down. I didn’t find it to be too bad, and I’m over two thirds of a century old. However, if you have any physical disabilities, it may be best to stay on the balcony, which is not a bad place to be. You have great views of the lake from there.

My family and I needed to come up for my grandfathers funeral. This home provided such a nice relaxing place for us after dealing with such a hard situation. We couldn’t be more thankful. We will absolutely consider staying here again whenever we come back to Centre.

Loved all the windows and immediate view of the lake as you walk in the house. Spectacular! The home was neat and clean. Queen beds in the guest rooms would have made the stay perfect as we were three couples. The beds were comfortable nonetheless. Would stay again!

Beautiful home and perfect spot on the lake. Our family enjoyed fishing, swimming and hanging out on the dock. They house was clean and very nice. Stocked with essentials we needed and had lots of board games to play when we were stuck inside from the rain. Open floor plan allowed everyone to be together when inside. Also wonderful deck to sit out on and enjoy view. Would definitely stay again.

We really liked everything. The house is beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked. Everything worked .
One negative: We couldn’t really tell how steep it was down to the water, which made it hard, especially my wife to walk up and down the hill. We are both 70, not sure I read the description very well. We did get a good workout!

We have our own property on Weiss that was being occupied at the time of our stay, but really wanted to spend the weekend out on the boat with friends and have our kids enjoy the water. Such a fun place to stay. Clean, easily accessible, and host was very accommodating. Would love to stay again.

Fishing Trip
The property was beautiful, the only downfall was the steep incline down to the fishing ramp when most of us was 65 and over. But we really enjoyed the house.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Cowan Creek Hideaway on Weiss Lake. The house was very clean and well equipped. You have a great view of the lake from the deck and also can walk down to the lake and sit on the dock or around the firepit. IT was a perfect size for our party of 4 adults and can accommodate younger kids as well. The hosts were great and communication was easy and hassle free. Out trip was only a few days but the house was great and hopefully when we have more time to spend at the Lake the house will be available.
