We loved how close and walkable the house was to everything in Buena Vista! The house is well stocked, clean, and in such a nice setting. We really enjoyed just sitting in the backyard enjoying the weather and observing all the mule deer roam around. Would love to stay again!

My funny husky and I stayed there this week. He loved the fenced yard and the neighbors, who we met when the dogs decided to get to know one another. The house was beautifully furnished and super comfortable. We absolutely loved our stay.

So many interesting details in this quaint, 1800's cottage. We especially enjoyed browsing the antiques and the vinyl collection. And, the backyard hangout was perfect! We were having such a good time, we almost didn't want to leave the house. The cottage is bigger than it looks, but only one (nice!) bathroom (original look and feel but felt newly installed). Comfortably slept me and my husband and our two adult sons. Very easy walk to park/pond and downtown shops and restaurants. Hosts were extremely responsive and very accommodating! Thank you for the stay!!

I really enjoyed the home. The location is very convenient and the home itself is in great condition and very well stocked. The only thing I couldn't find was a can opener...
The yard is very nice and I liked being able to cook my meals on the gas grill.
I enjoyed learning the history of the house and taking advantage of some of the more "vintage" features of the home, including the sound system with the record collection.
I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others looking for a comfortable place in a great mountain town.

This is a really unusual house, built in 1879 and lived in for 60 years by a schoolteacher known to all of the older residents of BV. Despite its age, the house is comfortable and well-appointed, at least for our June weeklong stay. We’ve stayed in many VRBO’s in BV over the years, but this one is special. Would love to go back sometime.

The Roman Home is an amazing property with excellent touches throughout the house. The history of the home and its occupants was amazing to read. This would have been the perfect property had not the people replacing the roof been on site Friday when we arrived, returned Saturday morning for a while, had sawhorses, lumber and other equipment in the yard and the front fence taken apart. I think communication before we arrived letting us know what was going on and giving us the chance to cancel or reschedule would have been appropriate.

My husband and I loved our stay in this beautiful Victorian home. It was clean, spacious with a large fenced in yard which our Yorkiepoo thoroughly enjoyed. The amenities included a washer/dryer which was great to have. Michelle was a great host and easy to communicate with. The neighbor was also very friendly. We plan to return to Buena Vista and stay in this quaint, charming comfortable Victorian home!

We enjoyed our stay in this little house. Sort of like staying at grandma's and a nice yard for our little dog. Close enough to town to walk and close to the park to cool off. Could use some upgrades as far as beds a bit lumpy but for a few nights stay was ok. No air conditioning but several fans helped to cool it off. A great little vacation for us and would recommend.

This is a cute, quaint home in downtown Buena Vista. It was well cleaned and inviting with nice period decor and furnishings. The property is well within walking distance to shops and restaurants in town. It is located on a very busy, noisy street, but has a fully fenced yard to safeguard pets and children. For summer stays, expect it to get very hot inside ~80 degrees particularly in the rear of the home due to a flat roof in that section. The owner has provided a lot of fans to help cool it off at night. There are a lot of windows too to help with cooling. We we’re generally able to get it cooled down enough to sleep by 11pm. We would definitely stay again, but likely not in the hot summer months. Thanks for providing your cute home!

Thoroughly enjoyed our week long visit. Everything we needed was available. Gas stoves kept us comfortable. Beds comfortable. Short walk to downtown and restaurants. Close to Peaks View Trail which is an easy walk with wonderful views of the mountains. Our pooches enjoyed their walks and the yard too. Would definitely stay again.

This property was absolutely lovely. Close to Mount Princeton as well as Cottonwood hot springs, so I could not have asked for a better location. You can walk to several restaurants as well.
The decorations and living areas were really excellent. It was marvelously appointed and I was really able to feel at home with my family. We were able to cook and keep up with laundry. Very very happy with the experience.

This place was AMAZING! The house was spacious while still feeling cozy. My husband must have spent 10 minutes just walking around repeating "this is really cute!" The kitchen had everything we needed and everything was labelled. There were plenty of linens, towels, cleaning supplies, etc. The hosts have a binder with the history of the house, local things to do, restaurants, tv instructions, wifi credentials, etc. The property manager sent us a text the day we checked in the make sure we had their contact info and to let us know the house was ready for us and the owners were very responsive to messages. Coming from an eastern time zone also meant that we were up early enough to catch beautiful sunrises over the mountains.
The location was perfect for my family's ski trip. Monarch Mountain was about 45 minutes down the road where we were able to do our skiing and play in the snow at a trail just past the ski resort, although we did get an inch or so of snow at the house as well. There are also quite a few restaurants in walking distance from the house as well as a few grocery stores. Salida was a 20-30 minute drive (with amazing views) to have access to more restaurants, Walmart, and ski shops.
Before we even finished this trip, we were already discussing another trip next year and plan to stay at this rental!

We had the most incredible time during our stay at the Roman house. We spent our first Christmas together as a family in this home. We had anything and everything we needed. It was such a welcoming space. It could not have been a better trip. The yard was perfect for our dogs. The vinyl selection was top notch. The location was ideal. Everything about this space was magical. Thanks for everything.
