Tucked away on the quiet west end of St. Thomas, overlooking the Caribbean, sits Stone's Throw. Guests are perched on a hillside seemingly close enough to the sea to do just what the villa's name implies. From the sweeping views of the water from the villa's decks and ABSOLUTELY PRIVATE pool where you can lose yourself in the sunshine and fresh breezes, to the close by hiking to secluded beaches, and yet just a few miles from duty free shopping, most popular beaches and dining spots on St. Thomas; this is a wonderful spot to unwind. All this with the luxury of a fully appointed villa.
Stone's Throw affords her guests tastefully appointed bedrooms, most where one awakes to the blue, azure, sea. All bedrooms have walkout decks. The main living space invites all to relax and entertain. Dine outside or in with a full kitchen or explore the varied dining options available on the island.
Guests will find themselves in a secluded island environment with banana, orange, lime, and other fruit trees. They could spend their entire time enjoying quiet days reading poolside, surrounded by palms and tropical flowers. On clear days one can see St. Croix, and the mountains of Puerto Rico. Watch the sun set, framed by the the Spanish Virgins, then stay up to star gaze, wishing upon shooting stars, glimpsing an upside down Big Dipper, and the famous Southern Cross. We traveled with 9 people. The house has plenty of space and accommodations. The view of the ocean sitting outside was the best.

The pictures on the site didn't do the house justice. We loved the setup. There was 9 of us and we had enough room to hit get in each other's nerves. Great pool if you don't want to go to the beach. Beautiful sunsets from either balcony.

This property is all the way at the west end of the island and is very private. We enjoyed the quiet and privacy with the spectacular view of the water.
The home is spacious and provided great space for us 5 adults.
The trip to town is 20-25 minutes over a couple of mountains. The trip to Red Hook and the beaches on the other side of the island is around 45 minutes as long as the traffic is moving.

Our Youth STEM Program spent a week in USVI assisting in coral restoration projects with UVI. Stone's Throw was the best space for learning and relaxing after a long, often challenging day working in the sun and below the sea. Everything was fantastic!

Other than distance from town the house and view was amazing, peaceful, very secluded and private, would recommend renting a car, taxis don’t like to go that far but will for a small fortune, so much nature and beauty to take in, excellent for large groups

Family get together by the ocean. Always recharges our batteries. The house gave each of us privacy if needed yet the family time together could be spent at any level of this beautiful home. Two very minor issues with the property which Doug remedied in expeditious time. He was gracious and so quick to respond. The location was very private and secluded on this side of the island which we enjoyed. The views were beautiful and we loved watching the sunset from the patio. And being able to sleep with the windows open was icing on the cake. If we have the opportunity to come back we will certainly reach out to Doug.

Stone’s Throw was the perfect home for our family vacation. The home was spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. Spectacular views, beautiful pool, and nice amenities. Located on the very private west end of St. Thomas, about 30 minutes from most tourist attractions. Host Doug and manager Rafael were very accommodating. Would definitely stay there again!

Home away from home
Our 2nd experience staying at Villa Stone Throw. Just as relaxing and enjoyable as we remembered from our first visit. Our host was a delight and made us feel welcomed and at home. It's a great spot to relax, unwind and recharge. Drinking coffee on the deck at sunrise is an experience that cannot be duplicated anywhere else.

Stones Throw
The property was great, very spacious and well stocked with pretty much everything you need. It was like home away from home. The view was amazing and we appreciated the fans and ac units in the rooms. Doug was very accommodating and responsive to any requests or concerns we had. Enough parking for 3 cars. There were some pest control issues but other than that the stay was lovely. A suggestion would be to pave the road leading up to the home, if that’s within the owners control.

Amazing views!
My husband and I rented this house with 3 other couples to celebrate our new marriage and we had an amazing time! The house is beautiful. 8 adults stayed here and we never felt crowded. The house is beautiful and the views are even better! Doug was an excellent host! Would definitely recommend.

Awesome views!
My family and I enjoyed our relaxing stay at stones throw. The beds were very comfortable. Doug is a good communicator if you need anything.
Cooking meals was our main source of meals and the kitchen had everything we needed.

Paradise
We had a great time staying at Villa Stones Throw/Estate Fortuna. The views are incredible and we spent a lot of time on what we called the “lower terrace” by the pool. There’s plenty of space to spread out, we were a group of 5 adults and we each got our own room. For anyone planning a first time trip to St Thomas this property is pretty far from town or other excursions so definitely plan on renting a car and driving quite a bit. Overall 10/10, the property is fantastic and Doug was wonderful. We didn’t want to leave :)

Amazing place to stay!
This place is everything you want in a rental property. It's quiet, serene, and secluded. And the view simply gets better the more you look! There are enough rooms for a large group to be very comfortable and to each have thier own space when space is needed. Even sitting down by the pool everyone has room to stretch out. Maybe you'll get to see the iguana that hangs out there sometimes!
The owner is accomodating and very easy to get along with. They keep the house clean and very well maintained and everything you need is there except your food.
This place has become one of our favorite places we've stayed in and it was very hard to leave on our last day!

Wonderful Stay at Stones Throw
We had a wonderful time at Stones Throw. The view was amazing and the house was perfect for our family. It was clean, spacious, and the decks were great! Doug was so accommodating and communicated quickly. We had a rental car to get around the island. We packed our lunch in a cooler from the house and enjoyed beaches, fishing, snorkeling, etc. Each morning we loved sitting outside with a coffee and with an awesome view of the sea. The pool deck was perfect for us (And beautifully lit up at night). We sat out at the pool whenever we were home. Magen's Bay is gorgeous and we really enjoyed being at that beach. We also loved the day we spent at Sandy Beach at Botany Bay which is right close to the house. You have to park outside the gated community, sign in, and walk the concrete road to the beach (1+ miles) and be prepared for hills (we did learn that they send a shuttle at 8:30, 12:30, and 4, so plan accordingly if you need a ride). The beach was beautiful and only a couple others were there. We are all so glad we spent the week at Stones Throw in St Thomas!

Priceless View with all the Comforts of Home!
Estate Fortuna / Stone's Throw was perfect for our group - 3 families, 6 adults and 3 teenagers. Each family had their own floor and bathroom with all the comforts of home for our 10 day stay. We spent our days out exploring various beaches and our evenings grilling and playing games/cards out on the beautiful deck overlooking the water. Having a pool onsite was an added bonus that we definitely took advantage of. The property owner, Doug, was great to work with and was extremely responsive and helpful; he has everything you need to help make your trip more enjoyable, extra beach towels, coolers for going to the beach, games, the list goes on and on. Our group would definitely recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed!

Breathtaking Views
This property has breathtaking views. It is secluded and very relaxing. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend. If you’re looking to be downtown this is a bit of a drive but to us it was worth it. Property manager was easy to contact and helpful. Thank you!!

A Very Special Property in a Beautiful Setting
This property met and exceeded our expectations. The description is accurate but beyond that I would add... The host provided a lot of information about St Thomas including activities, places to eat and where to buy groceries. He gave us detailed driving information and was in touch when we arrived to make sure we could find the property. When the island wifi experienced some problems he jiggered it so we were not without service. The home is spacious and there was plenty of seating for our family of 9 to sit on the deck or at the large dining table or around the pool. Three deck areas provided space for those who wanted a quite area to read while others talked. The kitchen (there are two kitchens) was well equipped and we prepared most of our meals. There are bedrooms on all three levels so those who wanted to sleep late had a quiet place to do so. The home is decorated with an island vibe and the setting is magical. In the winter there is a clear view of both the sunrise and sunset. The property is high on a hill with a beautiful view and is surrounded by beautiful gardens and is completely private. We found it interesting that the electricity is solar and the water comes from purified rainwater. The week wnt by too fast and we hope to return.

This villa was exactly what we needed. The Owner Doug wad just awesome with anything we needed.
The area still around this villa was so quiet. The pool and views were amazing. We could see PR and STX… The AC in each bedroom was so great. Having 2 kitchens renting the whole 5 bedroom was perfect. It is located just 17 min from the U of the Virgin Islands where I worked for the whole month of November, 2021.
I will be renting this villa again it was just perfect.

The view was everything
This property is on the west side of the island. The west side is a little more quiet and would be considered away from the city. But the city is only 15 minutes away. When we arrived at the airport our rental car didn't show because our plane arrived after 5pm and they closed, so we took a taxi. Doug gave us very detailed GPS coordinates. It got us there just fine. There is a few signs to watch for as you are approaching Fortuna Rd. Rafael met us there to let us in and answer any questions we had. My husband and I stayed on the top floor, my twins on the main level - each with their own room, and then my oldest son and his girlfriend in the lower level. Our bedroom was like a loft with no door, so if you want it to be super private just be aware of that. It's still pretty tucked away you can't see the bedroom from downstairs. Each bedroom has an air conditioner. The main house doesn't have AC, but there is patio doors with screens that you can open up. It really felt great on the deck, the ocean breeze was pretty amazing. You could probably sleep outside on the deck if there was a cot or a hammock! We ate outside on the deck every night! There is mosquitos so make sure to have some bug spray. I think with all of us in and out of the house and opening the doors they just made their way in. We got to see 2 resident turtles that live under the deck, they were so cool! They would come out and eat some of the fallen fruit from the trees. There were a lot of cute little lizards, there was a HUGE iguana that was sunning itself on the top of the driveway one day! It scurried pretty fast once we started the car. There is beach towels, and a basket with extra sunscreens. There is some sand toys in the laundry closet. There is a washer and dryer which is great when you have dirty clothes. We made a day trip to the "cost u less" on the other side of the island for a food run. We also did a boat trip with Captain Bryan with Seas of the Day Characters and Tours. It was so incredible to get to see St. John's and the kids went snorkeling and saw sea turtles. The other days we just hung out at the house and cooled off in the pool and hung out on the deck in the shade, and also in the sun. This place was a little slice of heaven if you love to relax away from crowds and just have family time. I would say the view and the pool was my favorite part of the house. And of course you have to see Magens beach which is 20 minutes away, but so amazing!

Awesome place for a group
Stayed here for a week in July for my birthday with a group of friends. The place was clean and everything worked perfectly. The view is exceptional and the pool water temp was awesome for nightly swims. We would definitely stay here again. Two points that were not deal breakers but other people should be aware of; this house is on the far west end of the island, which is quiet and for us was perfect but if you are wanting to go to red hook or east end activities its about 40 min drive. Also, the master bedroom is upstairs but does not have a door relying only on the stair case for privacy. This was not really an issue for us but might be for others.

Peaceful Slice of Paradise
Beautiful home on the quiet west end of the island. Excellent communication with the Owner/Host. The home provided a terrific retreat for my family. Wish we could have stayed there forever!!! The beautiful ocean views and sea breezes were exactly what we needed and all available amenities allowed you to do as much or as little as you wanted to during our stay.

Stones Throw – What a beautiful place with magnificent views. Photos do not do it justice by any stretch of the imagination. Once you walk on to the balcony you are in awwe. Very quite and secluded area. The property is gorgeous, two decks, perfect pool with a little bench area hidden in the trees. The house feels like a summer home, very comfortable and homey with everything you need and more. Two kitchens, a grill, washer & dryer, everything you need to have a great stay is there. I recommend rent a car, and be prepared for the drive if you plan a lot to do on the island as well, taxi and bus system not readily available out here. The owner Doug was great and answered any questions we had and quickly obliged any request we had during our stay. We made some great memories here and definitely recommend to anyone. Thanks for having us!

Villa had unbelievable views and decks to enjoy them from. The pool was perfect for adults and kids. Very quiet and tranquil end of the island. Would recommend renting a car as taxis can be pricey especially when heading to the east end of the island.Communication with owner and property manager was excellent.

Forever in our Hearts
When you go on a tropical family vacation and the general census of the entire group is that one of their favorite parts of the entire vacation is the home we got to call ours for a week...........you know you found the perfect spot! We could not be more impressed with this piece of paradise. It had absolutely everything we needed for a home away from home. The views were amazing, The stay was peaceful, Doug provided all sorts of advice on site seeing, It is just far enough away from the crowds to be able to enjoy solitude but close enough to everything that we needed or wanted to do. The kids loved the pools, we loved the breeze in the evenings, the sunsets were phenominal- I could ask for nothing more. Should we ever return to St. Thomas, this will be the only place we will ever stay.

Fantastic vacation. Fantastic property.
Our family just returned from Stone’s Throw today, and we miss it already. The property is located high in the hills on the west end of St Thomas. Breath taking views, tranquility, calmness and privacy are just a few of terms that best describe the property. The 5 bedroom house it well equipped with everything you might need plus things you didn’t know you needed. Little extras like games, cards, CDs, kids toys, crib etc are just some of the special touches that make it feel like a home, not a rental. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen is very functional with all necessities ( blender). The decks and balconies are the signature statement of the house offering breathtaking water views. Whether it was coffee in the AM or a sunset cocktail, you will appreciate every moment spent soaking in the unobstructed views. We had 8 adults and 2 toddlers functioning quite fluently throughout the spacious home. The pool is a treat to have at your fingertips. Doug ( owner and host) could not have been kinder or more accommodating. He is extremely responsive to questions or needs. Also, In a random act of kindness, he even brought fresh cut lilies to our 3 1/2 year old granddaughter, Lilly. She was quite impressed. Doug also provided coolers and chairs for us to use on our daily beach excursions. Plenty of beach towels for everyone too
Rent a good vehicle and embrace The Island driving experience. It’s about 20 minutes to the airport, 30 mins to Charlotte Amalie and Magans Bay Beach or 45 minutes to Red Hook.

Spectacular View in a Garden Like Setting
The property is on the west end of the U.S. Virgin Islands. It is located 20 minutes from the main city center. The location is beautiful, peaceful and quiet. Due to the elevation on top of the mountain, the views of the island and water are spectacular. The home is very spacious and surrounded by a beautiful garden with flowering plants, bushes and trees, including fruit trees. This is a great place if you are looking for a quiet getaway.
The owner Doug was extremely hospitable. He met us at the airport to insure we could find our way to the property (not identified on Google Maps, but near major landmarks). He checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Doug went 'above and beyond' to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We couldn't have asked for a more gracious host!

Peace & Quiet
We were on the island installing the new airport seating and chose this house based on its location away from the "hustle" of Charlotte Amalie. This house is literally at the end of the road and takes about 20 minutes to get there from the bottom of the mountain. Loved the drive twice a day. The house is very secluded and quiet which was welcomed after a hard day's work. The only issue we had was when the Solar power ran out & Rafael had to come switch it to the main power. Same thing happened with water and Rafael had to switch cisterns. Every time we contacted Rafael he was there within 10 minutes to fix the issue. The views from the porch were absolutely amazing and a constant breeze could be felt during all hours of the day. We loved the split level layout with kitchens on both floors. I would highly recommend this house to anyone who is looking for some relaxation or peace & quiet after enjoying everything St Thomas has to offer.

West is Best
We rented the villa for a month and it was perfect! My husband and I are building a house nearby and I have long dreamed of having a "house raising." We needed a place to put up our friends who came and helped frame up our home. We couldn't ask them to come work without providing a beautiful getaway. The first two weeks there were 4 of us, so we only paid for the main portion of the house. We took the entire house for the rest of the trip. There are two kitchens with the whole house, that is not clear from the pictures. We did not use the second kitchen much but the main kitchen had everything we needed. At one point my 85-year-old aunt visited and there were no stairs necessary as she stayed in one of the rooms near the main kitchen. We all spent almost every minute when "home" on the main deck (plenty of seating) eating, drinking, talking, and enjoying the million dollar view. The air-conditioners in the bedrooms were used by some, not others (our choice!). The house is comfortably isolated yet the owner has several properties close by and Peter and Nicole were there right away if we needed anything. We rented a Dodge Grand Caravan which carried 7 of us all around the island. Our favorite swimming beaches were 20 minutes from the villa near the University, the airport, and town, Brewers and Lindbergh. There is a hotel called the Island Beachcomber at Lindbergh that has a cute beach bar/restaurant with long-time local employees who are very friendly. I would highly recommend Villa Stone's Throw for a group getaway as it was a great value and an all around fantastic experience!

The Perfect Family Getaway
The villa was a perfect quiet getaway for me and my family. From the moment we arrived in St. Thomas, Peter and Nicole were extremely helpful. They are so knowledgeable of the island, what to see and do. The drive up to the Villa which is located on the West end of the island has some breathtaking views, but the views from the villa were just spectacular. The villa was a great place to come back to after a day at the beach or sightseeing. It was very relaxing, spacious and comfortable and the sunsets were just amazing. Stone's Throw is perfect for a large family or a couple of families. Travelling with 2 young boys 6 & 5, they could not get enough of the salt water pool. There were days we didn't even leave the villa. They just wanted to swim all day. We even lucked out and saw some whales spouting water one day. The grocery store is just a 15min drive away along with restaurants and shops. All in all this was an amazing trip and we're so happy to have stayed at this villa. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to St. Thomas. Thank you Peter and Nicole!
