Kuapa Villa is a quaint 2,000 square foot interior, recently remodeled, marina-front, simple relaxing older home with A/C in all bedrooms and ceiling fans through out the house (main living areas do not have AC)
Makapu'u Blue tile marina front pool, large covered back deck, and amazing marina and Koko Head Crater Volcano views.
You will love the location of this home, as it is very close to tons of amazing sights, great shopping and restaurant options, and loads of other fun activities and attractions. It also offers direct access to the calm waters of the Hawai'i Kai Marina via its very own private dock and a pair of ocean kayaks for you to enjoy during your stay!
Located on a quiet residential peninsula, Kuapa Villa is perched right on the water in an area known by the ancient Hawaiians as Kuapa Pond. The area was once one of the largest fish ponds in the Hawaiian Islands but was dredged and filled in the 1960's and 70's to create the large private waterway now known as the Hawai'i Kai Marina. These marina-front homes have become some of the most sought after residential properties on the entire island, and for very good reason. Residents and visitors alike fall in love with the safe, quiet streets on land and the similarly safe, quiet waterways of this completely private marina. It's one of the only places in the entire state where you can take a boat or paddle a kayak to dine at one of the many nearby marina-front restaurants!
One of the best features of this neighborhood is its extremely proximity to a myriad of exciting - and useful - destinations. A quick 5-minute drive will bring you to most everything you will need to enjoy your vacation to the fullest....
For some serious underwater fun, you will find world famous Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve just over the hill, with its pristine white sand beach and some of the best snorkeling on the entire planet. You'll also find Maunalua Bay, one of the premiere water sports adventure locations in the entire state, with several different companies offering water sports galore, including jet skiing, parasailing, surfing, stand-up paddling, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, wake boarding, and the exhilarating "Jetpack" thrill ride!
If land-based activity is more your thing, there are several great hikes close by, including the immensely popular Koko Crater Railway Trail which offers a great work-out on the ascent and rewards your efforts with spectacular ocean and mountain views from the summit. If you're lucky enough to have your stay coincide with a full moon, take this hike in the late afternoon and watch an unforgettable full moon rise over the Pacific!
If shopping is more your thing, you will delight to find 3 different shopping centers within 2 miles of the house! Choose from tons of great boutique shops and restaurants, as well as multiple grocery stores (including Costco!), drug stores/pharmacies, and even a multi-plex movie theatre.
Should you feel the urge to drive farther than 5 minutes, you will be thrilled to find out that you can get to most parts of the island in under 30 minutes, including Waikiki and Honolulu!
Take the scenic drive around the east side and within the first 10 minutes, you'll be soaking in the picturesque coastline views of Koko Head, Sandy Beach, and Makapu'u. Make a pit stop at the Halona Blow Hole to watch this natural water spout shoot ocean spray dozens of feet into the air. If you stop here during the winter months, the keen-eyed visitor will almost certainly be able to spot Humpback whales frolicking in the deep waters just offshore!
Around the corner and continue driving past the sprawling pristine white sands of Waimanalo Bay and you'll soon reach the world-famous beaches of Kailua and Lanikai. Just a short kayak paddle off shore of Lanikai Beach are the picturesque Mokulua Islands. With plenty of nearby kayak rentals to choose from, I highly recommend you spend a day to fully explore this iconic island treasure!
Head the other direction (west) and you'll soon find yourself in world famous Waikiki, with its myriad of shopping, restaurant, food, bar, and night club options, as well as ocean sports activities galore like surfing lessons, canoe surfing rides, submarine tours & catamaran cruises. Keep heading west and you'll soon find yourself at Ala Moana Center, the largest outdoor shopping center in the world, with more than 300 shops & restaurants.
Another 5-10 minutes will bring you to the historic sites of downtown Honolulu, including 'I'olani Palace (the only royal palace in the United States) & the historic Chinatown district. There's also Honolulu Harbor where you can dine and drink right on the waterfront, or board one of the many ships for a sunset dinner cruise or even a late night "booze cruise" for some real fun!
Venture a few miles farther west & you'll find yourself at historic Pearl Harbor where the U.S.S. Arizona still sits in the waters where it was sunk 75 years ago on December 7, 1941 which indeed turned out to be a "day that will live in infamy".
On days when you're not feeling quite as adventurous, just relax at home and take a dip in your own private backyard oasis instead. Kick back and soak up a few warm rays while you gaze at the stunning views of Koko Head across the marina. Soak in some warm rays on the back deck, then take a dip to cool down in your own backyard oasis.
Although the house is close to Waikiki and Honolulu, rest assured it is completely removed from the considerable urban sprawl of the big city, allowing you to relax in peace and quiet during the downtime of your vacation.
Out of respect for the serenity of this quiet residential neighborhood, events, parties, or loud music are not permitted.
Come enjoy warm sunny days, cool nights, and a great time with family and friends at the Kuapa Villa!

Great location. Minutes away from shopping, Koko

The property is located in a very nice quiet neighborhood. Our stay here was nice. Beautiful swimming pool with the view of a beautiful lagoon. Overall, the house is nice. It can use a few updates. The bikes that are in the garage are not functional at this time, one of the seats is very loose. Maybe some updates on the bedding and beach towels and chairs would be nice. Other than that our family stay here was very safe and nice.

What a great stay we had! The house accommodated the six of us comfortably and was nicely located in a quiet neighborhood with shopping access and such nearby. We made good use of the kitchen the back patio and the pool. The bedrooms were the only rooms with air conditioning and unfortunately the rest of the house was always too warm. But we’d stay again!

First off, kids loved the pool and the pool toy accessories. Then we can talk about the adults' favorite things. The welcome email had detailed directions, clear instructions, and good local suggestions. The grandmother in our group loved that we were so close to Costco. The house was clean when we got here and had several staple items already setup. Towels were clean and fluffy, soaps for hands/dishes/laundry already enough for what we needed. Refrigerator was already cold and making ice. The beds were super comfy, like super comfy! What's the catch? Well, if you're not used to living near the water, there were a very few water bugs and that could freak a few people out. There were already some Raid cans, so that was an easy fix. And the bathrooms were so pretty, but the tub was a little slippery, so just be careful or wear shower shoes with grip. We packed lite and utilized the laundry, it was a great help and a good pair of machines! It was definitely worth staying here and out of the hustle n bustle. We venture everywhere we could and it was so nice to come back to the private pool in a quiet setting. Then go for an evening walk around the neighborhood. Would definitely rent here again for next Oahu trip.

Rainbows, yoga on the dock and hours of fun around the pool - at the foot of Koko Crater - are just a few elements of our family’s time at this lagoon of Oz. All of our beach needs, bikes, kayaks, the nearby sites and local restaurants offer something for everyone. The hidden gem, Portlock Beach, is perfect for little ones. We all agree that we’d come back to this spacious and relaxing home.

This house is fantastic for a family visiting Oahu. The pool is definitely a highlight. I was worried because it isn't heated that it would be cold but it wasn't! We enjoyed the outdoor space. The check in and out process was also easy.
The stay would have been better if details were taken care of. The garage door doesn't shut unless you pull on it to help it along, the master bath shower drain is clogged which is gross, the TV remotes have bad batteries, the light over the stove is burnt out, the coffee cups are the sort that can't be microwaved, the stove was dirty with food down the sides, the outdoor grill was not cleaned and the recycling was full to overflowing from other guests. Even though we put the recycle bin out the truck didn't come as scheduled.
Also the air conditioning is only in the bedrooms and the common spaces are incredibly warm. (We had unseasonably warm weather) The air conditioning unit in the master bedroom seems to barely keep up even with the door closed. The ceiling fans are dirty, the toilet in the master feels like it's not bolted down. The carpets have stains and next door is under construction so there are many people around and starting work early with construction noise. Thankfully my family is early risers anyway. These are all small things but annoying. Felt like the house needs some attention. The bike paddle board and kayaks are great additions!

Room for my family, clean, enjoyed the pool, and outside area, especially the marina. Everything you need is here, shopping center close by. Many thanks for a memorable time.

Excellent property, quiet location with a pool. Safeway, Costco, Longs Drugs stores so close by, makes shopping easy.
It was really tough to leave.

Overall, the property is better equipped than most VRBO's. There is a two-person kayak and stand-up paddle board, life jackets, pool toys, etc. The kitchen is new and well-stocked. The layout of the house is very nice, with big patio doors to the pool. There is no air conditioning except for in the bedrooms. It got warm in the late afternoon, but we never actually needed the air conditioning. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, and we loved being on the canal and ability to explore with the sea kayak and stand up paddle board. The pool is beautiful--unheated but it was warm enough for us. There are some things that are in a bit of disrepair, but we enjoyed our stay here very much and would definitely stay here again.

Great Location
House was nice, good location. Someone entered the house while we were not there. Not sure if that is a regular thing for owners to enter the property without giving notice.

Family Vacation
We loved our stay at this Hawaii Kai home. In a quiet neighborhood away from the busy, crowded touristy areas. It's a nice drive to a variety of beaches and lots of options for day trips from this location. The pool and patio make it a great spot to spend the day too and the kitchen has all the amenities needed to make meals for your family. Large area to gather for games and family time. Big towels, pool toys and the nice washer and dryer were all appreciated during out stay. I would definitely recommend this home to families and would love to stay here again.

Great waterfront property with pool!
We stayed here for a week with our son & daughter-in-law. The view is spectacular! The pool was wonderful! The breeze was perfect with the open windows & we used the air conditioner in the bedroom. We enjoyed kayaking in the double kayak! Our son used the paddle board! The beds were very comfortable & there were large beach towels provided. We did a few excursions & hikes. This house was in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. We had everything we needed & enjoyed our stay!

Wish we could stay longer!
This house is in a quiet neighborhood east of Waikiki Beach in a marina. Great restaurants and a Safeway grocery store nearby. What really makes this house exceptional is the pool, lanai and dock on a canal that leads out to the ocean. Honestly the view is wonderful. Kitchen and bathrooms are great. Met a couple of the neighbors and they were wonderful. Lise, the property manager, is a dream to work with. This house has a kayak, stand up paddle board, pool floats and fishing poles. Only complaint is there needs to be a couple more lounge chairs by the pool. Truly hated to leave.

So glad we stayed here
The pool and location on the canal were the best. The neighborhood was super quiet and people were nice. The location in East Honolulu is great for access to the island and for proximity to the city. Really glad we stayed here.

Family Getaway
We love the Hawaii Kai area. We appreciate how relaxing the neighborhood is but nearby to stores and restaurants. The house was equipped and stocked with everything we needed and so cozy and comfy to come back to after days out exploring. From booking to stay we had a great experience!

Perfect location
We had a wonderful stay. The property is in the perfect location where you’re close enough to everything but still far away enough to feel like you’re on holiday. It is an older house but it was clean and comfortable. Pool and dock were the highlights. Lise was always super helpful and responsive. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning!

Soothing home to help you rest.
This house has everything you need to be able to enjoy the island. They have beach towels, goggles, flippers, sunscreen, beach chairs, kayak, stand up paddle board, which can be used in the little marina around. The manager Lise was wonderful and reminded me to take garbage out and brought us new life jackets to use for the kayak. You are in as great location where you can drive 39 minutes to Waikiki or go the other was and be to target and Ulta in 25 minutes.

Beautiful location!
The location was beautiful and the neighborhood was quiet, and conveniently close to Safeway, Costco, restaurants, fast food, gas, movie theaters and more. The home was lovely and exactly what we needed. It ended up being just 4 of us instead of 6 and we had a ton of space to relax in. The master is huge and the extra bedrooms were a good size. We had family meals at both the indoor dining table and the outdoor table on the patio and loved both areas. We used the paddle board every day as well as the pool, and even just sat on the dock with coffee every morning, just enjoying the view. My daughter had to work from home from 6am-2pm for 3 of the 6 days we were there, and had several video meetings, and the internet worked well for her with no problems at all. Check in and check out was simple and easy, and Lise was wonderful, quick to respond, and a pleasure to work with. Mahalo and a hui hou Lise! We look forward to next time!

Great property on the water
We needed a private house with pool doe a safer distanced vacation with our young kids and this place delivered.
Only issue happened when the landscaping guys did their job, unfortunately aerosolizing pollen off the flowers at the front of the house and into one of the bedrooms. We had no warning to close the windows for that time to prevent the subsequent allergies.
But otherwise, great stay!

Comfortable home in a wonderful location
We had a wonderful stay at Kuapa Villa. The home is situated on a cul-de-sac, was comfortable and spacious. The pool was refreshing and the view of Koko Head and the peaceful marina was a really special backdrop - a nice way to start and end each day. Great location, close to shopping and activities and easy to navigate to other parts of the island. Lise was warm, responsive and gracious throughout our stay. We had a lovely stay and wished we were still there.

Nice place
Nice property that met our needs. It could be made really awesome, with some fresh paint and new carpet. Also the wood laminate floor kept me constantly worried with the pool just outside. I recommend replacing with a waterproof flooring like LVP. The deck outside is really slippery- we slipped. a few times so be careful! The outside patio area ambiance could really be elevated with some soft lighting or twinkle lights. Overall it was a nice house and it met our needs. Great location and close to everything. The property manager Lise was outstanding and a pleasure to deal with. She returned any communication with us promptly!

Relaxing Family Getaway
From my initial correspondence with Lise to our final checkout, everything about this property & stay was fantastic!
Great response to any questions along with wonderful insight about the area beaches & tips.
The pool was amazing and the home had more space than you think from looking at the photos.
Very quiet & safe neighborhood & easy to get to grocery & shopping.
We had 6 total people & all had a great time! I cannot wait to return!

Paradise on the marina
From beginning to end the process to rent this property was flawless. It was so nice to have our own home and private pool. The best feature of the house is the indoor outdoor living space., the whole back wall is floor to ceiling windows, with large glass doors that open to the outside. These are screen to keep closed so the bugs stay out. The island breeze and birds chirping could be heard through out the house. It was lovely! Each bedroom had air conditioning, which we used and the kitchen was well appointed. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner. Location is fantastic. Costco, Safeway, restaurants and even urgent care is with 10 minute drive. You will love your own private dock on the marina. Every day we took the paddle board and kayak out. We are a family of 6, 4 kids, ages 11-19. Everyone had a place to hang out and yet we were able to spread loads of quality time together. Thank you Liza for quick responses and the aloha welcome and well wishes. We will not hesitate to return and highly recommend this amazing home.

Nice home for a family!
Renting the property went easily! Enjoyed the patio dining outside by pool! Dock was almost unusable as a large boat docked there! This reduced water activity & fishing enjoyment! We would rent again if guaranteed full dock! Had an enjoyable stay as my grandson graduated from the University Chaminade & he’s a local now so he took us to places away from the tourist crowd of Waikiki!

Easy check in/out. Clean location exactly as advertised. Property owner and manager were easily and immediately accessible when we had questions. We were traveling with 4 older family members & this single level place was perfect for our needs. We loved using the kayak, too!

Hawaii Kai Stay
We had a nice stay at the house. AC is only in the bedrooms. It might be too warm for some but with windows open it wasn't too bad. It is an older home in good shape, pool was nice, view of the water and sunrise very nice. The neighborhood was quiet and we felt safe. It's a good place to be in Quarantine.

Loved the house
Too bad our Hawaii vacation was the start of the COVID-19 crisis and everything shut down in the middle of our trip. But we were happy to be in the house and not a hotel. We used the pool, kayak, and paddle board to make the best of it. Great location and neighborhood (quiet, on a cul de sac)..

Fabulous family vacation
My family and I had a lovely stay at this property! It was clean, comfortably fit 6 adults and, very accommodating for my father who has mobility issues. The location is removed from the crowds which we preferred. Our favorite part was the pool and outdoor space, which was like an extension of the living area. We were out there every day (even in the rain thanks to the huge covered area.) Lise was very easy to communicate with and super responsive. We had a couple of light fixture issues which she was prompt to fix. Thanks Lise, for your kindness and hospitality!! We hope to return soon!
