Fun, funky and in a great location! Plenty of great outdoor space to hangout, play games or just watch an amazing sunset! Close to open space, state park and beach fun.

The home is a very eclectic blend of styles, furniture, and construction with what seemed like multiple additions to the original house. We would have loved to see more upkeep on the house itself. Overall, it met our needs and we were really happy to get some time together as a family in beautiful Birch Bay! We mainly came for the time on the beach and tide flats which was just across the road that runs in front of the property.
Some things we enjoyed about this particular property:
-Checking in and out was a straight forward experience
-Multiple seating areas both inside and outside to relax and hang out
-Multiple BBQs
-It's across the street from the beach
-The house has adequate space both inside and out for a family to gather and have a good time!
-Ron is a great host and was available to help with any questions that arose.
-Birch Bay is absolutely beautiful in the summer!
A couple of things we were disappointed on:
-The small camping trailer in the backyard is quite run down with sagging roof, not leveled properly, and shouldn't be counted in the number of "beds" that this house sleeps.
-The layout of the house was really weird including a random shower in the bedroom (!) while the rest of the bathroom was on the other side of the wall.
-In another part of the house the walls did not run floor to ceiling, including the bedroom and bathroom that was attached to a small second living room and kitchen, making for a little less privacy.
-The main bathroom shower leaks and you can see damage to the drywall above the shower.
-There is a leak in the roof that left an area in the dry wall above the stairs with a small hole and water damage.
-The garbage compactor did not work
Overall, we really did enjoy our stay and we were quite happy to have a place large enough to meet the needs of our family in such close proximity to the beach! Come and stay in the summer and enjoy beautiful Birch Bay! Thank you, Ron!

while property had good water views it greatly lacked cleanliness. A dirty cleaning rag and windex was left on one of the beds. Refrigerator was with left over stuff with food stains and overall place needs through cleaning. With Covid-19 we felt very uncomfortable and vacated property within 2 hrs of check-in. Owner did not even respond to our email with the issues we raised. Totally disappointing experience.

Lovely plums on the tree. Good home for families with small children. Room inside and out. The fire pit was great along with other amenities.

We did a girl's trip over the weekend at this place and its absolutely amazing! I recommend it to anyone who wants to have a great time at Birch Bay. Everything about the house is so cool! Thanks again Ron. We hope to go back again and again.

Every guest was amazed & delighted by this property. Everyone wanted to tour every room to examine the eccentric floor plan, novel knicknacks, beautiful color scheme, & odd electrical system. And at the end of the day everything, strangely, worked just fine. We were not in need of any more bedding, cookware, lights, towels, dishes, cooking counters, dining areas, or beds.
Thank you for a delightful experience. Thank you for sharing this home with our group.

We enjoyed our stay. Loved how close the beach was and the campfire every evening was so much fun. Kitchen was well equipped with everything that we needed. The plum tree in the backyard was a pleasant surprise.
Only suggestion for improvement is for the bedsheets/pillow cases to be cleaned properly prior to guest arrival as some beds appeared to be dusty. Perhaps those rooms have not been used recently.

We came with our family of 7 adult and 7 kids. We did not feel cramped, the kids had so much space to run around and explore outside. There's beautiful blackberry bush in the back by the trailer which we enjoyed every morning. The sunsets are breathtaking. I love being right on the beach. The long driveway made it very easy to park a lot of cars. Tons of outside chairs. Fire pit was beautiful.
Nice TV and fire TV stick appreciated.
This property has a lot of charm and it's mismatch colours and decor adds so much character. You feel like you're in Mexico!
More than enough plates, cutlery and cups for everybody.
Four bedrooms, a lot of bathrooms.
Two pull-out couches, three living rooms
Thanks again

The place was perfect for our Christmas get-away. We have a big family and we all fit in this house. It also is well-equipped with basic necessities and you will never get bored even if you are just inside the house. We went on winter time with not much outdoor activities to do but no regrets at all! The owner, Ron is also very accommodating. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends and relatives!!!

The home was perfect for 19 of us for a great birthday party weekend! Very casual and comfortable accommodations. Kitchen was well equipped and easy to prepare food! The house was awesome for clusters of us to play games in the various gathering areas! Sitting around the outside patio fire was also great. The neighbourhood area was great for all our outdoor running enthusiasts! We will definitely book again and be back!

Our family has been going to Birch Bay since the early 1950's when we lived in Bellingham. For the past 40+ years we rented the same cabin at the south end of the Bay, beginning with my grandmother in 1968 and almost continuously through children and grandchildren , with our last stay in August 2013, when with growing numbers, we needed to find a place that could accommodate our growing families . We found this property toward the north end called Fairview/Hillview which we rented for the first time in August, 2014. Though somewhat difficult for some of us "older" members of the family who had been so connected to the previous cabin after all those years, to make a change, it accommodated all of us with a great location across from the beach and plenty of yard space for the grandchildren to play safely . The accommodations provide different levels of privacy as needed and worked well for our family. The owner, Ron, had high expectations of his tenants and we appreciated his attention to detail. It was a great experience, and we look forward to going back next summer as well. Great place- you won't be disappointed.

This property, Fairview/Hillview, worked really well for our family of 3 generations (15 people).
There were bedrooms downstairs on the main floor for those who don't do stairs well and two bedrooms upstairs for people who wanted a little privacy. The main floor had plenty of space for everyone, there are two kitchens if you rent the whole house like we did, there is a T.V. room off the Fairview kitchen, a nice large living area with plenty of seating, a dining area and direct access outside to the patio/fire pit area.
Ron, the owner, was very easy to work with, reservations, paperwork etc... all went very smooth.
We look forward to more stays at Fairview/Hillview.

This is a perfect place for large groups--located right in the middle of the Birch Bay curve and close to amenities, set back from the road, with a very functional and well-furnished kitchen. The two refrigerators came in handy for our group of 10, and we also appreciated the extra off-road parking available. The well-placed round tables, with extra folding chairs, encouraged group interaction. We enjoyed the unique and eclectic decor including travel posters and a lighted interior palm tree! Overall, a charming 40's style beach house, clean and well-maintained.
