You cannot see the river from this property if there are leaves on the trees. It is not “steps away”. It’s down a steep driveway, across the street and over a guardrail.
The floor was dirty. I went barefoot for a little bit the first night, and the bottoms of my feet were black.
The TVs are not smart TVs, so you can’t stream anything. You get basic TV with about 30 channels.
The WiFi was out most of the weekend, unless you had Verizon, which had a weak signal, you couldn’t even receive text messages.

The home was well maintained. The beds were comfortable. I was able to contact the host and they replied very quickly.
The home is not able to be found on Apple Maps, but google maps takes you there. The directions provided were also helpful.

Property owner earlier before arriving refused to give me her phone #, but she posted her # and her husbands # on their frig to call of any problems, makes no sense at all. The door on the front porch was unlocked when we arrived in the dark at 9:00 pm. Very unpleasant by all means since the other door had a combination key entry process. My son went in first to make sure no one was in the home. i sent a text to the owners # to report the problems, but her number must be a land line number. So I called her # yesterday and it went to voice mail directly and I left her a message of all the problems. She has refused to call me back because I have not heard from her. I have rented from VRBO for over 35 years and never ever had any problems with any property owners. This is the first case in over 35 years and I am not pleased with this owner, Jo Ann Ray. If VRBO wants great business and reviews then if I was the owner of VRBO I would cancel this lady's home from your listings, but this is my opinion only. I am not totally pleased with the owners response and very suspicious. I would suggest VRBO do an investigation. The home was very clean and hidden in the mountains. Price was reasonable. According to the area code on her phone # she is located in the area. We liked the home, but not pleased with the owner at all. Thanks, Ken C.

We’ve stayed here before and love the proximity to fishing spots. This was the first time it wasn’t really clean, there was visible clumps of dust in just about every room. I didn’t reach out, since we didn’t spend a lot of time inside. But if you have allergies or asthma I’d be mindful of the current condition of the property.

Clean and comfortable small ranch style house that has everything for an enjoyable stay.

This place met all expectations. Overall, it was a great value and was centrally located to where we wanted to be. The home was clean, comfortable, and well supplied. We highly recommend! We were in town for the opening day trout tournament.

Easily accessible for handicap…clean….homey…well stocked…great washer and dryer. Overall great stay as it was our first time to stay in the area. Truly appreciate you letting us stay in your home. Thank you again!!!

In Cherokee for 3 days to trout fish. Emily’s Place was a great place. House was very clean and comfortable. Not far from where we normally fish and just a few miles to town and restaurants. Very peaceful to sit on the porch and listen to the Raven’s Fork River, below. Had all the amenities that we needed and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Definitely will stay there again.

It was so close to everything we wanted to do and just a precious house to boot. Loved it. We will be back

My girlfriend and I had a great stay. We went during the off season, so many attractions were either closed or under maintenance, but we still had a blast. My only qualm was that the listed address threw my gps for a loop. For future guests, try clicking on the image above the address instead. This should give you coordinates that will take you to the correct road. Beyond that, a great stay and no doubt a future booking should my girlfriend and I come back to Cherokee.

The house was very clean and comfortable also convenient to all of the attractions !!!

Let’s start with positives. Home was 4/5⭐️ clean. Tons of towels and extra blankets. Beds were comfortable queen bed softer than the smaller, double. Fully equipped kitchen with all you needed. Plenty of toiletries. Nicely decorated. Not far from town, stream for fishing, or entrance to Parkway. Easy to locate and access. Owners were easily accessible and kept good communication.
Negatives: —driveway is steep! Would not be a big deal, we are in the mountains after-all. But we trailered our motorcycle and it was EXTREMELY tricky to maneuver to get it backed in and the bike unloaded! Thank goodness Husband is amazing at backing a trailer and his truck is a beast to pull it up the hill. It was even more interesting getting the bike back up the hill after riding. —-didn’t like seeing dirty towels in basket in bathroom from previous visitors or maids? —dusty behind and around tv, windows and sills, and shelves in laundry (wouldn’t have noticed had i not missed trash can and dropped something) —-cell service was limited and wifi was not connecting, although owner gave his multiple user and passwords, nothing worked. Again we are in mountains but we had a sick grandson at home so better communication would have been ideal. Stilll a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and would visit again, without the bike! Much needed RnR for my husband and myself. Thank you.

This sweet home was a peaceful stay! The trees were changing colors and the Mountain View was spectacular from the front porch! The sound of the river was so calming for an enjoyable relaxing time on the front porch. The house was clean, and smelled nice! The bed linens are soft and cozy the beds are super comfy! It had everything we needed for our stay! Easy communication with host! Can’t wait to come back!

Quiet surroundings peaceful very clean secluded but easy to find

We spent much of our time away from the home hiking in the park. Evenings were very quiet sitting on the front porch. There was some traffic noise on Big Cove Road but this all but disappeared in late afternoon. The home was comfortable with bedding that guaranteed a great night's sleep. We will not hesitate to stay here again. It is well off the beaten path, just what we wanted. Peace and quiet.

This two bedroom one bath home was perfect for my husband and I. We rented it for a week and it is nestled up on the hill and Cherokee, which was centrally located to other places that we wanted to visit. It is handicap assessable with no stairs, which was perfect for my husband. it had granite countertops and nice appliances and a full washer and dryer. I would recommend this place.

In the area for a 2-day golf tournament. The location was great. The place was very clean and comfortable. Hearing the River was a good perk! Would stay again and highly recommend it!

We looked a long time to find a place with a recliner and wheelchair accessible. The shower was amazing for wheelchair bounded people. Absolutely no steps anywhere in this place. The shower was not in a tub but it was its own area, and a wide doorway to get into the bathroom. This place was perfect! The area was quiet, with beautiful flowery bushes. The lane to the driveway was very steep, but once you got onto the property it was completely flat and private. We would stay here again and again.

We celebrated our 25th anniversay this week and had a great time. The home was very comfortable and location was great. We saw Elk everyday we went out just down the road from the home.

Great location (make sure you follow the directions the property owner gives you-GPS had put us 13 miles away 😉) . Clean and comfortable. Property owner very quick on answers to questions. We enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed stay. Hiked up to Mingo Falls, visited Casino, fished in the beautiful river and relaxed on the front porch. Comfortable beds, just as described. Would stay again if in the area.

The house was perfect! Perfect location and peaceful! Easy check in, looked like it had been a while since someone had been there but overall very nice! Definitely will be coming back to Cherokee!

My husband loves to come to fish and this gives us room to move about while there. We also can do some cooking instead of eating out

Emily’s Place was the perfect Cherokee rental for my partner and I. The views are beautiful; you can hear the river rushing from the porch! The property was clean and very private; the home comfortable and impeccably decorated with a combination of Cherokee and Christmas elements. The kitchen was great and especially well equipped! All of the amenities of Cherokee are just a short drive from Emily’s Place - we really enjoyed visiting Mingo Falls, Oconaluftee Islands Park, Qualla Java, Native Brews Tap and Grill, Qualla Arts And Crafts Mutual, Museum of the Cherokee Indian, and Sew Tsalagi. Thank you for the lovely stay!

Nicely built 2 bedroom house with full kitchen, laundry room, living room and full bath. My husband and I enjoyed 3 nights and 2 days at this nicely decorated house. The location was convenient to Cherokee and shopping. It is located in a quiet spot close to the river. It’s was enjoyable sitting out on the porch and listening to the river and seeing the surrounding mountains. I would recommend it to anyone.

This is such a great place to stay in Cherokee! It is convenient to everything yet nestled away on a hill. Up to date appliances and comfortable furniture and had internet in case you need to work a bit as I did. Check out was so easy and required very little work on our part! Loved our stay and will definitely be back next time we are in Cherokee!

Great, out of the way spot near mingo falls

Just as described; excellent location and just what we were looking for as a weekend location. Actually saw more elk around the cabin than in the park! Would be a place we'd like to return to!

This charming house is so close to everything the beautiful surrounding area has to offer. The house was very clean, comfortable and well stocked with all the necessities. Would stay here again when in the area.
