About this cottage rental
Thank you for your interest in Camp Willow and our rustic cabins! We have 2.5 acres of lakefront property, cottonwood trees to sit under, a fire pit to hang out around, and canoes & kayaks for your recreation.
Our cute little cottage is a park home located in a quiet and serene place along the Guadalupe River. One bedroom with one bath plus a large sleeping loft upstairs. The sleeping loft has 2 queen beds but due to a short 50' ceiling, it is designed more for sleeping and leisure activities. The loft overlooks the den, the water and property because of the large floor to ceiling windows in the den area. The den has a queen sleeper sofa. The cottage has a full kitchen with small dishwasher too. We have put a 8' x 12' deck on the front with patio furniture, a bench built into the railing and a bbq grill for your outside enjoyment. The deck overlooks the lake as well.
We are pet friendly but the property is not completely fenced off (only 95%).
If you have a larger group, we have a matching cottage near this one that can house your additional group members. Please inquire for more information. This piece of property has a total of 4 rentals, nicely spaced that is a great location for family reunions, company retreats, etc.. The full 4 unit property can sleep up to 38 guests.
5 minutes from Schlitterbahn, Gruene and the river outfitters.
15 minutes from the outlet mall and Texas State University or ZDT Amusement Park in Seguin.
30 minutes from Canyon Lake.
40 minutes from Sea World, Fiesta Texas/6 Flags, the River Walk, Austin.
Floating - Rockin R Tubes will pick your party up and take you home after a day of floating and socializing on the Comal River.
We are located within 5-10 minutes of Schlitterbahn, the Comal River, the Guadalupe River and Gruene Hall. Texas Ski Ranch is 20 min away and offers wakeboarding, axe throwing, eating, live music, special events& more. Each of our accommodations comes with free passes to the Texas Ski Ranch. Passes include either free 2 hrs of wakeboarding or 1 hour of axe throwing. Enjoy!
New Braunfels is the gateway to the hill country so it is a great place to ride motorcycles or bike tour.
Great location for Family Reunions, Weddings, or Graduations.

It was a great property, nice location, fun time

Great little place. Much cheaper than a lot of other rentals in town. My only complaint is that things that other places provide like trash bags or a hair dryer we had to go buy. Beds were super comfy and great property.

Property was beautiful. Condo was very clean and provided everything needed. We came here on July 4th and everything was setup and ready for our family by the property managers. Though this condo is closer to the road, it seems to be the less used one I felt. We rented the full property as a surprise get together for our parents as we all live in different states and rarely do they see us all at once. We had our parents stay at this private condo location.

Great little spot! There wasn’t a pull out bed in the sofa but luckily we packed an air mattress!

we had 7 people in our party. This will sleep 7...two beds in the loft (2/bed) a master bedroom, and a couch. It was tight, but comfortable. It is about 100 yards from the river. It feels like you are in the country, even though you are 5 mins from stores and the freeway. very neat experience

Maria, the housekeeper, was awesome. She answered questions and was exceptionally thoughtful. The house says it sleeps 7 or 8 and thats way inaccurate. It sleeps 6 and even tben, thats a LOT of people for such a small space. The location is great and the kitchen had everything we needed. There were some "rough spots" in tbe cabin- like a buckled flor tile, a crack in the base of the bedroom door, a few places where the drywall was messed up- but the cabin was exceptionally clean. It is tiny, but was great for a little weekend getaway.

One review below pretty much hit every point and complaint. Parked in 1 of 2 designated spots to see overflowing trash cans, odor flies and gnats everywhere. Walked into cottage to a musty smell. Old car fresheners hanging everywhere as well as glade air fresheners. Doors walls and light switches filthy, in need need of painting or at least decent wiping down and scrubbing. Carpets dingy and stained.need to be replaced. Table and counters obviously not wiped. I used roughly 6 plus Clorox wipes, all but last came out gray. Sofas and table chairs just as grimy, worn and in need of replacing. Blinds bent or broken, drawers broke or missing, doors didn't close properly. Bedding stained. Tub and restroom floors had hair. We had to walk in sandals or socks and place towels over bedding because we were so grossed out. And that was after spraying down entire house with disinfectant spray. And I cannot leave out the insects. Not just gnats, flies but those tiny little roaches in cabinets, stove and microwave.. Outside bbq pit was left with idk what that was charred and stuck to grill and holes at bottom of pit which made it impossible to cut of airflow. Then there is the issue of wasps. I saw at least two at the cottage and there is obviously one under the pier as wasps were flying all around us.
One thing I can say for sure is cleaning is not done correctly or with chemicals. Prior to leaving I sprayed the cleaning solution under the sink to clean tub and counters and the entire house smelled like bleach. Which is what I should have walked into.
Location is nice and cottages have potential. A little money needs to be spent to do some updating, fixing , painting and fumigation. And I hate leaving these type of reviews but being a long time VRBO guest as well and having to pay "cleaning" fees is a bit ridiculous when I have to clean myself.

My family and I loved the Willow Park Cottages. Absolutely beautiful and so nice to be right on the water. We enjoyed kayaking and swimming on the river. The firepits and string lights at night were so tranquil. Thanks for having us!

The house was a nice little quiet place away from everything. Don’t know where you can really fit 8 people if you don’t mind a tight squeeze I suppose but it was perfect for my family of four the living room only has seating for three, 7 if you include the kitchen table chairs. Nice house and Maria was very helpful and tried to help us in anyway. Thanks

I couldn’t sleep with that extra large bookcase hanging right above my head with thunder storms nearby. I was waiting for it to come off the wall sounds strange but this happened at my sisters house and nobody was under it

We enjoyed our time at Camp Willow. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Our cottage was so cozy. It rained a majority of our stay but we still got some time in the water.

Just what we needed to lay our heads down it is small but we did not spend much time there so it was perfect for us
Loved they had 3 washers and dryers on cite
And hot water and great pressure
We did have to buy a cheap set of pans (which we left at the location for other people) to make breakfast but not big deal
The beds were comfortable and it was clean
Great outdoor views and close enough to everything

There was a little hiccup at the beginning, the cabin we booked was double booked and occupied when we arrived. The cabin was clean and had the amenities, but could use some updating and deep cleaning. It did sleep 4 adults well and overall we had a good experience.

We entered the house that stunk extremely bad and was covered up with air fresheners. The house doors and cabinets inside were falling off hinges. We had roaches in the house. The futon in main room was broken and rocked back and forth. Damaged walls, ceilings. Drapes held together with close pins! And the smell ... so bad we had to wash all clean clothes when we we got home- luggage had to be defumigated in garage. It smelled like cigarette smoke covered up with air fresheners.
We trust on VRBO to only have quality rentals for our family. We are long term VRBO clients and have never been so disappointed with a rental. In fact over 20 years of using VRBO I have NEVER complained before.
We were told to text owner with check out details which we did and she never responded.
I feel that my family should be reimbursed for this stay and this rental should be taken off VRBO until substantial remodeling, painting, defumigation takes place.

We loved it! It was the perfect location. 13 minutes from river road, so it was a quite calm area to enjoy peace at.

The property was very dirty with dead insects in the curtains. We had to chase the check in info which turned up on an email at 10pm the night before. There was very little cutlery in the unit. I lost an earring down the side of the cooker...don't look there it was disgusting!

Wonderful place..Loved the location sits back just enough to have some peace and quiet, but close enough to other attractions to enjoy them as well..Owners were responsive if needed..Wish I would have booked a longer stay which I will certainly do the next time around..I loved the size of the cottage made the family come together with no kids hiding out in their rooms(lol) we played hard all day and grilled out and watched movies in evenings..thank you for a great stay..

Really enjoyed our stay, only downfall for me was cookware. I love to cook breakfast but was very limited on what I could use, but could've brought my own though. July 4th fireworks were off the chain. Kids & I had a blast using kayaks

Too expensive for what you get. Bad beds and house for hobbits. Truly the WORST beds with springs in the back. We ended up sleeping on the floor. Which was better than the bed. The loft area is so short you have to hunch over to get up there. Kitchen only had 5 forks and it sleeps 8. Also parking is difficult, only 2 cars for this cabin.

Loved it! I will be going back. Close enough to attractions without the noise. It was just what we wanted. Teenagers went to schlitterbaun , we hung out and then floated the river. We came back, cooked out and swam in the lake. Didn't catch any fish.

I loved the location of this cottage! The longest drive was 15min to the Comal, it was great! Since the Guadalupe wasn't flowing we just hung out in front of the cottage in the lake and it was just as amazing to me. The only thing is, if you truly bring 8 people you better love them. It was quite cramped for just the 5 of us, about the size of a giant RV and there were some things that needed to be fixed around the cottage, and the glass table is a thigh destroyer (sharp corners in such a small space). Other than that I would definitely recommend and most likely stay here again.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed sitting out by the lake but unfortunately the cottage itself is in some desperate need of repairs/renovations.

The cottage is small, had the necessities we needed and also accommodated our dogs. Our other family members rented the gray house, which had several mouse droppings and roaches. They'll review it on their own. The major draw back about this cottage/reservation was the lack of communication from the owners. When I originally booked this cottage, I had reserved 2 nights. Once I found out that my family could join us and availability was open on this property, they decided to come and stay 3 nights. I tried to add an additional night to my reservation but the owners would not return any of my texts, phone calls or emails to do so. So we ended up arriving a day after my family did. Overall spending time with our family out weighed any negatives and it was a great time. The owners did communicate with my other family member via texts/emails and allowed us to have a late checkout, so thanks for that.
