Beautiful traditional-style house. Very close to castle, parks, and historic district.

The property is located within walking distance to the Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen Garden, which are both worth visiting while in Kanazawa. The facilities provided inside the house are amazing, as it is equipped with all the basic essentials that you need. The design and the comfort of the property is another highlight :)

We could immerse ourselves in Kanazawa thanks to this property because it has very traditional features yet ultra modern for facilities ( washing machine, aircon, kitchen etc). Location is fantastic - surrounded by local houses. You know what? There was a play station set with steering wheels set - that was cream on top when you are travelling with a teenage son.

Lovely large apartment with heaps of equipment. Easy to eat in or close enough to walk to restaurants. The owner picked us up from the train station, which was great. He also gave us lots of information.

It was located in an ideal setting. just in between the Geisha district and the Kanazawa castle.
not much. I wish they had bicycles in the property but that’s pretty much it.

Zaimoku-an's host met us at the train station and was in contact ahead of time to convey the logistics, and set-up our meeting at the train station. It was a big help and really helpful in helping us orient to the neighborhood and house. A great start to a a great visit. I really enjoyed the opportunity to stay in a house during our visit; the washing machine and kitchen/refrigerator.
Zaimoku-an was in a pretty central area but still not amazing for buses, which he had been using in other stays.

Great experience. Met at the railway station and driven to the accommodation. Thorough explanation of the property, and plenty of maps and suggestions for nearby facilities (restaurants, etc) and sights. Full laundry onsite, and parking also (for those who need it - we didn't). Plenty of room for our family of four. Lovely and warm also. Kitchen facilities good enough for a home-cooked meal two nights. Convenience store a couple of minutes away.

The place is simply amazing and very comfortable. I usually do not like futon beds but those were very comfortable.
The property has 2 bedrooms on different floors which is nice for a bit of privacy.
The place is ideally located to visit the city Kanazawa (parks, museums, old district, fish market). All in walking distance.
In fact, we loved the place and the city. I highly recommend to stay there when you visit Japan
In addition, one of our sons needed to see a doctor during our stay and the owner of the place was super useful.
Difficult to say.
Like any of Japanse style house, the furniture is usually minimalist and we lacked a sofa to sit comfortably.
But this is the style and usually, there is not this type of furniture.

Walking distance to almost all the tour sites. Not very roomy but with everything you possibly need. Also parking space is available.
We like to cook here but need to buy oil, salt and pepper. It would be very nice is kitchen with basic seasoning ingredients.

There was a bakery right next to this property and it was such an amazing perk.
I would have love it if there was a full length mirror somewhere in the house so that it didn't restrict getting ready to just the bathroom.

Great location & nice little house. Lots of local touches made it much better than staying in a hotel. Good facilities. Enjoyed sitting on floor & sleeping on futons for a change.
Liked everything. Just would recommend some hooks for hanging wet towels in the bathroom.
