Cute place, pretty neighborhood, great location!

My wife and grand children and I stayed for a week at the La Jolla home hosted by Mike who was very responsive to any and all of our inquiries. The house is larger than it appears in the photos and the kitchen is very well equipped. Beach equipment (wagon, chairs and kids toys) are available. The house is an easy walk to the commercial section of La Jolla but in a very quiet neighborhood. We had a delightful stay.

Very nice location in La Jolla. Close to beaches, restaurants and (most importantly) my son's wedding venue. Check in process and communication with property manager was excellent. House layout was great and had pretty much everything we needed. Hope to stay here again when we return to San Diego.

Very well situated near the beach, stores & a farmer's market that was there when we stayed. Dog friendly. Nice barbecue set up. Comfortable beds and pillows. No problems, all good!

The location is great. The house still needs some TLC but the owner has started some improvements. We had a couple of issues with lights and the washing machine, but the owner was very responsive and the problems were corrected in a timely matter. We would stay here again.

Charming older home with fabulous walkability rating. Ocean, restaurants, church, shopping all within 15 minutes.

Old property fairly well kept but has not been modernized. Clean, most of the amenities and little extras. Good room for 2br property. It worked and we enjoyed our stay but was a bit older and outdated.
2.0 / 5.0
The best thing about this property is the location. The home is not the kept up unfortunately. The kitchen cabinets were dirty inside and old condiments left in the refrigerator. We could not use back patio due to dirty, spider -webbed patio furniture. TV cable worked when it wanted to (host didn't respond until day 2). Gas fireplace was not working, and we were instructed not to burn wood. Bedding was inexpensive. Pictures looked great, but this home is very dated and could use some updating and repairs.

If you are looking for a place in La Jolla, this place is in a good spot to enjoy what it has to offer. Rear yard needs some clean up, but really wasn’t an issue as we spent a lot of time at the beach, which is a short walk.

We had a great stay at this property! Clean, on a quiet street, and an easy walk to nearby restaurants and the beach. The house has a few "older house quirks," but most importantly it was well stocked and clean. Beds were terrific! If I had to give one caveat, it's that the driveway has a little lip on it, so be careful if you're driving a low to the ground car so you dont scrape the bumper, but that's really not a flaw, just the way it is. We'd gladly come back!

Cozy clean home for our family of 4. Within a mile walk of beaches, seal rock, restaurants, stores. Quick drive to San Diego to see the zoo, sea world, uss midway museum. We would recommend Verdes el Ranchero, The Cottage for breakfast, El Pescador, Nautilus Tavern, and Hennessey's Tavern.

This is a cute house in such a great location for walkability. The size of the property was perfect for 4 to 5 adults. The beds were comfortable and we loved hanging out in the cozy tv room. Unfortunately, the property is very dated and needs a little TLC. The outdoor area is really unkept, dirty and falling apart. The front window screens had holes and the bathroom showers need a good scrub. We still enjoyed being together in such a good location.

We hosted a wedding at the Cuvier Club in La Jolla. This house is less than 10 minutes from the venue, but on a quiet residential street. Yes, it is a bit older and more worn (it felt like a real beach house) as others have written, but it was also very clean with plenty of towels and linens and modern kitchen appliances.
The biggest appeal for us was the spaciousness of the two sitting areas and the kitchen/dining area (don’t let the pictures fool you). We had 3 hairdressers, a makeup person and 9 people come over in the morning, and there was plenty of room for everyone!
The outdoor courtyard in the center was a great place for pictures too.
We would happily stay here the next time we are in the area.

The rooms are much bigger and spacious than what you see in the photos. A comfortable place, walking distance to everything, super quiet, beds are comfy, and huge shower head was nice.

Despite the unusual rainy weather pattern 😅, we had a great time in this La Jolla VRBO. The home is in a quiet neighborhood and within walking distance to the ocean. We did get some afternoon sun a couple of days so we were able to use the back patio. Excellent restaurants in the area, we would recommend The Taco Shed, the burritos were wonderful and the service was fast. The home was cozy, does need some minor repairs and a new mattress on the queen bed but we would recommend this VRBO. The owner Mike was nice and answered all our questions. We would rent again and recommend!!!

We rented this property for a vacation with our 3 and 6 year olds. We explored La Jolla/San Diego, Legoland, and the zoo which were all within a 30 minute drive. The property is in a great location and super clean with everything you might need nearby. Easy check in/out and quick communication with the owner made it a great experience. Will definitely rent again!

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay getting away from the cold MN winter and spending time with our son who joined us from LA. The home was just as advertised and met all our needs, the neighborhood was quiet and safe, and we especially enjoyed walking-distance access to restaurants and the beautiful beeches.

This is a cute little house in a great location. You can walk to the beach or to many restaurants/shops in La Jolla.
It was clean and all the appliances worked and were "newer". Furniture was on the nicer side.
The backyard wasn't really usable as we were there in the winter and it is in the shade much of the time. It needed a bit of cleaning with dead leaves and old pots lying around.
The major issue was the cracked and dislodged tile in the hall bathroom. There have been some poor attemps at fixing some of the tile but the whole floor needs to be redone.
The bed sheets are very cheap, microfiber and thin. The bed itself was comfortable and there is a lot of storage.
Check in is a bit different and the VRBO site said to contact the manager. We didn't get a response until after we had entered the house and wondered where the 2nd key was.
I would stay here again but it would be nice for the manager to be a bit more prompt in response and for the tile to be fixed. I enjoyed the sunsets you could see from the small living room windows.

This house is in a great location - close to the beach, beautiful walks, restaurants, shops. The neighborhood is lovely. Michael was very responsive to concerns as well. The bathroom faucet had a steady, fine stream of water and couldn't be turned off - Michael had a plumber come out and take care of it. The house definitely needs some attention overall, however. The primary bedroom doorknob was held on loosely with lots of duct tape (!), curtain rods / curtains falling down, a kitchen cabinet that was broken, marks on the walls where a fresh coat of paint should be applied, screens with big holes in them. The bathrooms were old as well with cracked tiles on the floor. Finally, the refrigerator had crumbs from previous tenants; a more thorough cleaning job would have been appreciated. We would return - but only if we knew that some of these things had been addressed!

We loved this house. It is lovely, bright and airy. The rooms are all large and the neighborhood is delightful. We enjoyed everything about our stay and would definitely rent this house again.

Nice little house in a great neighborhood. Three blocks from nice bluffs/beaches.

We had a great time exploring La Jolla from this home. The house is just a few blocks from a beautiful beach-Marine Street and less than a mile to great restaurants. The neighborhood is peaceful. The house is older and while not luxurious, it is comfortable and clean. The couches are nice and look newer. The house is spacious with the two living areas. We decided not to rent a car and walked everywhere. From Marine Beach as you walk north you reach the pretty tide pools and then you are almost to all the cafes. We really enjoyed the location of the home.

Such a great place! We loved the location and accessibility to the beach. It was great that they had a wagon and beach toys! If we are ever back in La Jolla we would love to stay there again.

Cute bungalow, short walk to the beach, adequate facilities. Lots of beach needs provided - boogie/surf boards, towels, volleyball, wagon to carry it all in, much appreciated. Highly recommend!

Cute cottage home walking distance from the beach. The street is quiet and walking distance to good food places. Family friendly location!

Comfortable beds and enjoyable living spaces. The two bathrooms are a bonus. It's an older home in an established and quiet neighborhood. The home shows some wear and tear but nothing that detracted from our enjoyment of the property and our comfort. It's a great value considering what newer properties in La Jolla would cost. Pull into the driveway at an angle in order to not scrape the undercarriage below your front bumper.

Great 4 night stay. You can not beat the location of this house! 5 minute walk to the beach or restaurants. Would certainly stay again!

The property is just right for two people but probably ok for four. Easy walk to beach and restaurants. Has air conditioning which was a lifesaver. We recommend staying there.

We had a wonderful 9-day stay at this La Jolla beach bungalow! The home was very spacious, having two living spaces, and we greatly appreciated all the beach gear (chairs, wagon, canopy, etc). This home is in a perfect location! A quick walk to Marine Street beach, which is an amazing spot to watch the sunset. Windansea Beach is also walking distance. Our favorite San Diego, area beach (La Jolla Shores) is also a short 10 minute drive away, and we spent a lot of time there. The neighborhood is super safe and quiet, and very close/walking distance to lots of great restaurants and a Vons grocery store. We can’t wait to stay here again on our next visit!

Best place to stay in La Jolla!

Perfect vacation
We had a wonderful time at Genter St. The property is well located for local walks to shops, restaurants and the beach.
Although neighbors were close, the neighborhood was very quiet.
The house was spacious with two large sitting rooms and comfortable bedrooms. We were relaxed and enjoyed our vacation there.

Short walk to the beach / Spacious
This was perfect for our family! There is plenty of space inside and out. Beaches and dining are a short walk. Kitchen supplies, linens, and beach toys are more than enough. The property is clean and the front yard is charming. Two cars fit in the driveway with ease. We would be delighted to stay again!

Good beach house, easy walk to best beaches
Good house for families and easy access to the beach and the rest of San Diego. Enjoyed discovering this part of La Jolla and prefer it to main downtown area. Nice back yard makes it easy to enjoy the space the house has. House is well stocked. Tiny bit of attention to detail cleaning/tidying inside and outside would make this property even better.

Spacious house with a great location
Really enjoyed our stay. Easy walk to beaches and the park. House had plenty of room (more than we needed). Really enjoyed having cable tv (usually you don’t get that). We cooked at home twice and everything worked great. Outside area could really use some sprucing up. Nice place to sit otherwise. I would definitely consider staying again.
