Neighbourhood overview
Prince Edward County is full of exciting things to explore - from wineries and breweries to fine dining, arts and culture, shopping and of course the best in farm stands! It's impossible to list all of our favourites but we are more than happy to share recommendations to suit your tastes.
Getting around
Prince Edward County is much bigger than one might think. You will need a car to get around the County and explore every nook and cranny. Bicycles are also availble for local runs to the Blueberry, Strawberry patch, the County Cider Company and Fifth Town Cheese factory - please let us know in advance and we can help you make arrangements to have bikes available. There are plenty of galleries, shops wineries, breweries, farm stands, artisans and local producers to keep you very busy during your stay. Please to try and take in a trip Sandbanks Provincial Park or check out the Dunes if you can. If you long for a quieter secluded beach, we have a few recommendations for those too! Prince Edward County has something for everyone all year long.
Other things to note
Being a country cottage, we are on well water and a septic system. We ask that you keep that in mind when showering and keep it short. Only toilet paper is to be flushed down the toilet, everything else goes in the trash. There are 4 cottages on PC Lane, please do respect the neighbours by not blocking the laneway. Please also respect the privacy of the neighbours, and they will do the same for you. The Property is perched on top of a somewhat steep hill, please keep that in mind if you travel with children. The large deck does have two latched gates. The gardeners will come once a week to cut the grass - please let them do their thing and they will be gone before you know it. You are in the country, there will be bugs! Please keep the doors closed so the bugs can stay freely outside and not bother you inside. PETS: We are pet friendly but all pets must be approved in advance when you book - we reserve the right to decline depending on type of dog, etc (dogs only). For anyone bringing dogs, we ask that you please bring a blanket for pets to protect the furniture and to keep dogs off the bed completely. With the extra cleaning involved we do add a $10/night per pet surcharge (maximum of 2 dogs). Most of the other Lane residents have dogs, some like to roam. If this is an issue for you, please keep the gates on the deck closed.

The check-in instructions were outdated/incorrect; a minor matter that the owner corrected beforehand.
It rained for 2 days before we checked-in - we opened the door and the ceiling fans were running - we quickly realized why - the place was damp and very musty. And the kitchen chairs had a coating of dust on their seat rears. We didn't stay beyond 5 minutes and only asked for a refund of the cleaning fee, not for the 3 night stay and the owner refused. The owner claimed we stayed 1 of the 3 nights - we did not. Anyone considering staying here should also be aware that the bedrooms are tiny - slightly larger than the beds.

Our stay was great and pretty much as advertised. Was a little disappointed with sound transfer in bedrooms and bathroom a little tight but otherwise your place has lots of charm and was thoughfully put together for your guests. We had a great time and would come back again!
Best regards, Nancy, Janet, Kelly & (Parker - Kelly's dog)

The big decks and lake views make this a very peaceful cottage retreat.

The Raven's Nest was exactly as described and pictured. Clean and newly renovated. Cleverly designed and had everything you could possibly need. Beautiful view from the deck and nice access to the bay. The shared beach was lovely and we basically had it all to ourselves. PEC has lots to offer if you want to stay busy and explore. But if you are looking to simply relax and unwind you could not find a more peaceful location. Also great communication with the owners including recommendations and tips for our stay.

A beautiful location and cottage. Lots of room to spread out. We were looking for a quiet place to relax for a week with family and everything was up to our expectation and more.

Had a wonderful time at this property. Very clean and stocked with everything you’d need. The cottage itself is very comfortable and the view is beautiful. Our hosts were very responsive when required. Would recommend staying here 100%. A peaceful time away but close to everything PEC.

A lovely little cabin in incredible surroundings. The landscaping is very special and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Rooms are small and there’s no sound barrier, but outside of that it’s perfect. Thanks for having us!

Kitchen excellent and well-equipped. Barbeque great. Garden was lovely. Beds were comfortable. Bedrooms/bathroom small. Fairly dusty around the edges - could use a good cleaning.

We booked this cottage early in the year (during lockdown) and looked forward to it for months. It didn’t disappoint. The cottage and property are lovely and peaceful with beautiful views. Once we purchased water shoes, we enjoyed swimming in the lake. We went on a few fun outings (Sandbanks beach, Mustang drive-in, Caddy Shack mini golf and dinner at Drake Devonshire), but mostly we just enjoyed relaxing at this home away from home. The weather was HOT but the ceiling fans made it all OK. The hosts are responsive and great and they provide all that’s needed for an enjoyable stay. Highly recommended!

We had a great stay at the Raven's Nest. The cottage was very clean and comfortable, with a beautiful deck overlooking the garden and the lake. Rapid communication with the owners and easy check-in. A well-equipped kitchen. Conveniently located near the Glenora Ferry terminal and a short drive to Picton. Everything was exactly as described in the listing. Many thanks to Stephen and MaTTI!

Raven's Nest is a lovely little cottage. Beautifully decorated, nicely finished, and in a quiet location, it's the perfect spot for a getaway week or weekend. The proxomity to nearby towns was so convenient and yet you still feel like you are in a restful spot. The hosts were communicative, accomodating, and thoughtful. Our only tips to would be renters.. there is no air-conditioning and no laundry but if those aren't deal breakers for you we would highly recommend!

Perfect spot for a quiet weekend away in PEC. Cozy cottage atmosphere. The pictures don’t do it justice.

First impression of the cottage? Very clean and cozy. Nestled above the lake amongst the trees, the large deck was an excellent space to relax and bbq meals overlooking the view and beautiful sunsets. The cottage is situated between two others, however, neighbours respected our space and when present (which was not all that much) where not at all intrusive during our week-long stay. The cottage stayed cool during hot days thanks to the ceiling fans and I could not have had better rests in the very comfortable bed. Not far from Picton for any needed items and groceries. Good location to depart from for adventures in the county! The beach is rocky as described, so come prepared with some water shoes. Otherwise enjoyed access to the waterfront. Overall, it was a great getaway.

Cottage is clean and cozy! Great location for exploring wineries, cider, towns and lake on the mountain inn!

Great stay overall. It was a beautiful little cottage away from the main areas of PEC but still doesn't feel too secluded. The place felt modern and not dated. The backyard slopes down and a few steps away from the shared beach. Kitchen was fully stocked. Beautiful sunset view from the beach or deck. Instructions were very clear and hosts were responsive to inquiries and got back to us in a timely manner. They gave detailed recommendations and was caring of our experience. Note that the bedrooms do not have ceilings so you can hear people in other rooms at night, not a problem for us. We would totally love to stay at here again when we come back.

What a great property! Location just outside of the city to avoid the people, yet close enough to do things or go shopping at the many stores that line Main Street. The property was extreamly clean and well appointed with everything we needed to make meals. The deck was a perfect escape for morning coffee and steak dinners in the evening. The fire pit area was also a great little hideaway to cook hotdogs and smoores before heading to the best night sleeps I've had in a long time! The owners were super fast when responding to the many questions we asked them. Their recommendations on things to do and see while visiting were spot on.
We look forward to staying again next year!

Great location and view of the water and sunset. The cottage is nicely renovated and has plenty of ceiling fans to keep cool. Some blinds on hot days would help though. We enjoyed the fire pit and being close to the water. The neighbouring cottages are close but we were lucky to have quiet neighbours.

We had a fabulous time at MaTTi and Stephen’s house. The decor is gorgeous and so relaxing. We loved the deck and spent ages out there reading and watching the birds and butterflies. Our dog loved swimming down at the waterfront. We were sad to leave!

We visited with our two kids (ages 3 and 5) and had a fantastic time. The cottage was perfect for us - quiet, relaxing, and very neat and tidy. Thank you for having us at your lovely home.
