This was our 2nd stay at the Casa Alegria. Some definite improvements with house furnishings, and kitchen appliances. We absolutely enjoyed our stay there again. Property owner, Raphael and Natalie were all very accommodating. Like I said HOME AWAY FROM HOME COMFORT, nothing else to add. We have booked for next year already. Cheers!!!

Another great stay at Casa Alegria! Love the location in a bucerias neighbourhood with great options for food close by. Our kids aged 2.5-5 had no problem with the easy, short 10 min walk to the beach. The house, grounds and pool are well supplied and maintained and the communication with James and Rafael is great. This place is perfect for any family or group of friends. We will return!

The images do not do this property justice, it is amazing! I stayed here with a group of 10 friends to celebrate my 30th and it was perfect. It's like staying in your own boutique hotel. Rafael was super helpful in getting us checked in and even came back to help us when I had questions. Would definitely book again.

The gang was very satisfied with the accommodation, large house and with a gang of 12 adults never felted crowded. The grounds had ample space 2 play games outside, the pool even though not heated was very much appreciated. The kitchen was fairly well stocked. The location was fantastic, within minutes you could be eating or purchasing food, all within walking distance. Thanks Larissa and James for your accommodation. We certainly wouldn’t hesitate to book again in the future.

This property is amazing. Beautiful living spaces, nice large kitchen and dining space, comfortable large bedrooms, great pool and outdoor space. We went with 6 adults and 4 children (ages 4, 3, 2 and 6 months). This property is great for children to run around, and has a gate at the top of the stairs. Being in the neighbourhood (a short walk away from the 'tourist' area) is a highlight of this property. So many places around to go for dinner, or order take out (as we preferred with small children) and bring back to the house. Raphael, the property manager was there ready to greet us (even though we were a little early!), is very friendly, and if there were any issues with anything in the property (like needing batteries for the AC remote) he was just one text away and very quick to respond. I very much recommend this property and hope to return sometime in the near future!

This property was the perfect place for our week-long family Christmas trip! We had 8 adults and 2 toddlers, age 2 and under. The upper level where the kitchen, living room, and two of the bedrooms are located has a gate at the top of the stairs that we were able to utilize to keep the wobbliest of the two toddlers from trying to go down the stairs. There was plenty of seating between the couch, the dining room table, the stools at the kitchen island, and the seating area on the balcony. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped for us to prepare some meals. It really is indoor/outdoor living as the main living area is open to the elements, but we loved the experience! However the bedrooms can be closed and locked and are each equipped with a fully functioning bathroom, AC unit, and fan. We had no issues with keeping the rooms nice and cool at night while sleeping or even during the day for naps! Rafael met us at the property, showed us around and was very helpful in scheduling a van to take us into Puerto Vallarta. We ended up using the same guy, Arcadio, each time we needed a taxi service. One of the toddlers still uses a pack n play for sleeping and they provided that for us. It took us a while to find the most ideal way to get to the beach with two strollers, but we eventually found a fully paved path along mostly residential roads. You do have to cross the highway, but there is an underpass for easy access. It still only took us 10-15 minutes to get to the beach, maybe a little longer on the way back because you have to go up a hill. Right at the beach's edge is a huge market where we purchased most of our souvenirs as well as a town square with vendors and restaurants. You're definitely staying in a neighborhood, but I never felt unsafe and everyone was extremely friendly. Some of our favorite places to eat were the little taco shops and bakeries just a few blocks down from the house. We did most of our grocery shopping at the large supermarkets within driving distance, but when we needed to restock on milk or other simple things, the little convenience stores within a block radius had what we needed. The pool was pretty chilly, but it was so nice to at least dip our feet in and most of our group still swam in it. There is plenty of seating and umbrellas around the pool as well for lounging. The house was very clean and the flowers/gardens were gorgeous! All the staff we interacted with were great! HIGHLY recommend staying here!

Nine of us; my wife and I , her kids, my kids and significant others spent 9 days at Casa Alegria. It was ideally located in a residential area of Bucerious. You can walk to shops, restaurants and bars. 15 minute walk to the beach. Awesome house and location.

We waited 3 years to finally stay in this house (medical problem and then covid) and were so happy to finally go. The hosts were wonderful in rescheduling TWO times with no additional fees and were always quick and so kind in their replies. We had an extended family together and the 6 bedrooms were awesome to have so much space. There is so much space the pictures don't even do it justice. It felt like we were still at a resort because it is so pretty. We loved the beauty of the home and yard. The floors were not super clean but that might be due to the open air nature of the house. Rafael was amazing and came to fix things once in a while and also setup our transportation for us to return to the airport. We were able to use the inDriver app the whole time for other transport. The beach was a 10 minute walk, even with all the kids and a stroller. The house is in a neighborhood but we LOVED being able to see all the life around us. There are tiny markets everywhere so getting water, milk, eggs, bread and beer that we were always running out of was easy. We wished we had walked up the street sooner because there were more restaurants, a nice fruit market and more! We did go the the Chedraui on the first day and that was difficult with the language barrier but we did it! There is a meat market on the main highway that we went to as well. Get the Carne Asada!
The reviews helped me so much with questions and planning so I wanted to share some information here.
1. The bedroom with the 2 single beds has its own bathroom and we were going to have the kids stay in there. However, the other two downstairs bedrooms were joined with a Jack-and-Jill bathroom so we felt more comfortable having the kids and parents sharing those spaces. This left the grandparents in the single beds, haha.
2. The housekeeper and landscaping crew arrives and walks into the property unannounced which threw us off a bit. It was a bit strange to have them doing yardwork around us while we were by the pool. We understood as they have to do it sometime! One thing that did bother us was the housekeeper arriving around 8:30 on the final day as we were trying to pack up. It was stressful trying to pack and get out of the rooms for them to clean and she wasn't aware we were leaving so it was confusing.
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home. We made amazing memories!

This is a beautiful property with a lot of space for groups to get together or have time on their own. We often gathered around the lovely clean pool or on the upstairs patio with the great view. The property manager Rafael and housekeeper Nathalie helped make our stay comfortable and were always available. We walked most places and used taxis for longer trips. There were small groceries and other local shops within a block or two as well as good restaurants including Buces Burgers and Culi's, but we often ended the day at a beachside restaurant watching the sunset, a 15 to 20 minute walk away. The house had large rooms and the kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. The wifi was dependable. The beds were comfortable and there were big fluffy towels.

This property was exactly what we needed! We travel to this area yearly with our kids and have found we most enjoy renting a casa with a pool rather than staying at a massive resort. The pool / outdoor space is clean with many chairs to lounge in. There were enough pool toys & floaties for the kids. The home is huge, beds are very comfortable and the kitchen was totally stocked. We went to LaConner, which was a quick taxi ride, for breakfast and snack foods but ate dinner out each night. Our family loves engaging with the culture when we travel, which made the home extra special. The neighborhood is exactly what you’d expect- kind neighbors, Kids playing and many people out on the streets. We loved Culi’s Restaurant, about a block up from the casa. The food was delicious and presentation was fantastic. We actually visited the taco & burger stands about three blocks down the hill the most often. Natalie came three mornings to clean and Raphael was knowledgeable and kind. Both did wonderful jobs while working around our family. We hope to be back again soon with more of our friends/ family!

The place was beautiful, clean and big. We had more than enough space for three families and spent most of our time around the refreshing pool. It is about a 15 min walk to great food, a big beach and shopping. The house is in a lively working class residential neighborhood and we would stay here again.

We stayed here as a family of 10 in late June. This was our first experience staying outside of a resort so we didn't really know what to expect and had to reset our expectations, but in a good way. The house is awesome, and plenty of room for everyone in the family. The ac's in each bedroom worked well for sleeping, and the neighborhood was lively. The house is almost hotel like in that each bedroom is accessible from the outside, there is no "interior" to the house if that makes sense. The living room, dining room and kitchen are all open to the outdoors. We felt safe when we were at the house, and even when we walked to town. Both Raphael and the housekeeper, whose name has escaped me, were fantastic. Thanks for everything!

We stayed for three weeks with our 6 adult/teenaged kids and flew in my folks for the last week (10 people in total). What an amazing and comfortable experience! From the start the owners were responsive and super easy to work with. They answered all of our many questions and were polite, accommodating, and very inviting. The house is 100% exactly as advertised. The photos of the property set a good stage but there isn't a way to accurately portray the relaxing atmosphere of the courtyard and pool area. Our teenagers had online school and I worked while there - absolutely no issues with the WiFi speed even with all of us working away at the same time. The kids loved walking to one of the three kioskos in the immediate area each evening for snacks or drinks. We all felt completely safe and without any issues. The Chedraui market is super close and has better prices on groceries and needed items than at Walmart. The home was well maintained and Rafael (maintenance man) was very accessible and very helpful. There was an accident with one of the windows being broken one night - Rafael was there the next day and replaced the window while we were at the pool. We didn't even know he was there! He even gave us a few recommendations for places to eat and a store to buy a piñata for a birthday party. :-). Natali, the housekeeper is super sweet and very helpful. Gabriel, the property manager is great. He speaks great English, is always available, and is like a personal concierge if needed. He connected us with a fishing trip for the kids, an in-house Mexican prepared meal service, and other fun things. The only negative thing I could say about the property isn't about the property at all. The neighbors to the south are very 'festive' people. We were there over Christmas and New Year's Eve. Both nights they partied well into the morning hours. Other than those two nights it was quite by 10:00 (other than a sporadic dog bark - which is typical for any neighborhood). Even the neighbors add to the experience of the trip. Overall, I'd give the property a 10 out of 10 rating. The house and property was great, service excellent, and memories for a lifetime! Thank you James and Lara for the use of your beautiful home! We'll be back!

We arrived to a home that was well thought out, comfortable, had all that you needed to have a relaxing, fun time. The beds were so comfortable (and pillows too!), enough blankets, we enjoyed the kitchen and all that it had available so we didn't have to worry about needing anything. The staff were so friendly and did a great job. The outdoor grill and seating were perfect for enjoying family time. The pool was amazing (but there's no shallow end, so glad we brought floaties!) and we enjoyed meeting a couple of local iguanas that live in the trees. The showers and bathrooms were clean and well stocked with quality towels. Overall, we were so thankful to have brought our family together at Casa Alegria!
