Wonderful house
We rented this home for 3 weeks to work remotely and take advantage of the beach, surf camp for the kids, etc. The host was great at communicating all the details and quick to respond to any questions. The house is lovely in a beautiful neighborhood, with all the amenities and comforts needed for a relaxing stay. Thank you!

Wonderful California Mid Century Modern Home
The home is lovely - tucked away up on the mountains of Santa Barbara but super close to town and the Botanical Gardens. And the wineries in the Santa Ynez Valley! Isa and Darryl were great, very responsive and provided thorough instructions on various things around the home. Kitchen was well-equipped and we loved using the Peloton since it was unfortunately a very rainy & cold week. We were hoping to live outside - wonderfully landscaped outdoor living spaces, but the weather didn't allow us to. Highly recommend this property - super clean, nicely decorated. Perfect for our family gathering over the holidays. We enjoyed the Christmas tree and lights as well! Very festive!
Thank you for a great family gathering.

Perfect Thanksgiving rental for family gathering
The property was exactly as advertised. Perfect for our family gathering. Great hosts. One of the best rentals we have ever had, and we have had many.

Elevated getaway
Seven Oaks was the perfect home base for our first trip to Santa Barbara. It’s about ten minutes from anywhere we wanted to be - restaurants on State Street, beaches, hiking. The home itself has a fantastic yard with lots of little nooks to discover. We especially enjoyed the fire pit and relaxing with a little ping-pong. The interior was well decorated, comfortable with all the amenities, and very clean. The short walk to the Botanical Gardens was definitely worth it.

Beautiful!
We traveled with three small children and had some family visit as well. The home is spacious and the garden is exquisite and we could have spent all our time relaxing in their home if we had to. We highly recommend this place!

Stunningly beautiful property and house
The house is the rare combination of being absolutely stunning while also being incredibly comfortable. My sister and I grew up in Santa Barbara, and try to return with our families every year or so, renting varoius houses in the area. This was by far our favorite and exceeded our expectations... the kids loved the trampoline, swing and large upstairs area for reading and games, the adults loved the beautiful landscaping, tree house feel of the whole property, the hot tub and the overall peaceful atmosphere. I especially loved the balcony, which provided a perfect nook for reading . The kitchen was spacious and well stocked, and we took advantage of both the interior and exterior spacious eating areas.
The location of the property is very convenient, situated close to the botanical gardens, several hiking trails and the natural history museum while also being just an easy ten minute drive to restaurants and grocery stores.
Isa and Darryl were available via text to ensure that everything went smoothly (it did!). We feel so lucky to have been able to enjoy this beautiful property and thank them for opening their lovely home to us!

Overall, we had an excellent stay. The only hitch was on Sunday morning we woke up to what appeared to be a pile of dirt at the base of the wall where the staircase leads to the second floor. I wasnt sure what caused the dirt pile or how it got there so I grabbed a broom to sweep it up. When I swept up the dirt a zillion ants came crawling out of the dirt pile. Evidently the ants had come from behind the wall, possibly building a nest or something. Kind of a bummer but fortunately it was Sun morning. Other than that, no problems. We loved the house. Thx again!

Truly a retreat!
The house was a great place to stay in SB. We spent as much time as we could in the outside oasis! The location was remote, yet very close to the beach, airport and State Street. For those that didn't want to climb stairs, the first floor had everything needed. We entertained local friends with breakfast and lunches. The kitchen and dining room provided a wonderful place to serve, eat and visit! We had a local restaurant deliver food right to the house. The glass enclosed den, just off of the kitchen was a peaceful place to visit or watch the hummingbirds on their morning flight. We would definetly rent this retreat again.

Picture Perfect, Rustic Chic Retreat
This was the perfect house for our group of 2 families with kids. The house itself is incredibly spacious and is situated on a flat lot perfect for kids to run around safely. The extra large outdoor trampoline was a huge hit, as were the treehouse, tree swing, zipline and hot tub. The house is located within 10-15 minutes of the best Santa Barbara has to offer and is a quiet retreat with multiple indoor and outdoor seating areas for relaxing and entertaining. The bedrooms offer privacy & serenity and the vibrant pops of color throughout the house add a special touch.

Beautiful yet Comfortable Santa Barbara Get-A-Way
This lovely home is nestled among herbal gardens and towering trees. The home's four bedrooms and two gathering areas can accommodate a large family. The harvest table easily sits 10 people for dining. There is a warm and comfortable atmosphere that permeates each room. Our family had the perfect reunion here as were gathered together from around the country. It truly felt like "home"!!

Fantastic Home!
My family still talks about what a wonderful, unique house this is! We rented it for the week around our daughter's graduation from UCSB in June, wanting a place that would allow us to all stay together, have a graduation party and be in a great location. Seven Oaks exceeded our expectations. The beautiful setting feels serene and secluded, yet it's just minutes away from downtown Santa Barbara and only about 20 minutes to the campus. The numbers in our group ranged from just my husband and I, to 13 on the night of the graduation barbecue. The house easily accommodated that number and parking was not a problem, fitting eight vehicles that evening. The house itself is absolutely gorgeous, the attention to detail amazing, yet I never worried about the children in out group breaking things as it is a very kid friendly home. The "great room" upstairs and the kitchen/dining/fireplace room downstairs were perfect gather spots for everyone. The kitchen is large and stocked with everything needed for large gathering with a great BarBQ outside, off the laundry room. My two favorite areas were what I called the daybed deck and "fishbowl/fern room". The daybed deck was where I found myself the most often; enjoying a book, napping and recharging. (Gotta admit, we jokingly tried to figure out a way to get that beautifully unique daybed home with us!). The cozy "fishbowl" room (so-called, because of the two glass walls, that at night allow everyone to see in and in the daytime makes one feel like you're in the middle of a fern grotto), is such a beautiful, comfortable area that I frequently found everyone perched on every available surface. I just realized I hadn't mentioned the outdoors! What a magical setting! From the small, intimate seating areas that were just like little vignettes, the larger seating areas, the trampoline, tire swing, garden, lush landscaping...wow, what a paradise!
This was a special time for us and I'm so glad we got to experience it while staying at Seven Oaks Retreat. Our memories of that time will always be colored by what a truly welcoming, beautiful home we were lucky to have found. I would definitely recommend this wonderful oasis to anyone! Thank you Isa!

This home makes Santa Barbara our "Go To Destination"
We echo everything shared by other reviewers. Secluded from the city yet right on top of it at the same time. 5 minutes from an amazing hike, only 10 minutes from the ocean. Lovely home only matched by how pretty the outdoor setting and amenities were. We were a family of six - two kids (ages 2 and 9), two 40 something's and two 60 something's - and all of us felt comfortable never leaving the property on certain days. Darryl and Isa made themselves very available by phone / text and made excellent recommendations for our time in Santa Barbara.

Beautiful, clen, private.
We rented this property July 9-15, 2016. We were on a family vacation and had two families. The house has two bedrooms upstairs and two downstairs, which worked well for each family to have their own space. The kitchen is beautiful and big enough for several people to cook together. The outside is very pretty and so peaceful to sit out on the patio in the morning with your coffee. My grandsons loved the trampoline and the zip line. The home was very clean and well stocked with towels soap, shampoo and other necessities. The kitchen is also well stocked with utensils, although we could have used a few more steak knives. My children enjoyed the nearby hiking, and the beach is a very close drive. The upstairs playroom was great for the kids. The owners were very accommodating and easy to work with. We had a lovely stay and look forward to coming back. My only suggestion would be that a high chair and pack and play for babies would be very nice. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!

We found our yearly rental!!!
We spent the perfect week long summer vacation at Isa's amazing home! We are a group of 10 with children ages 2-7. No time to be bored with all the amenities. Absolutely perfect home for a relaxing, family-friendly vacation! Close to everything Santa Barbara has to offer but with the best rural feel. We hope to be back year after year!!

Stunning home, did not dissapoint!
I meant to leave a review a LONG time ago...better late than never ;) Our family of 7 stayed here last summer, which included kids ages 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10. Upon arrival, everything was perfectly clean and stocked. Lots of basic necessities, plenty of clean towels and sheets, even coolers and chairs for the beach. My kids would run upstairs and play in the great room for a while, and then take off outside to play in the grassy yard or take turns on the swing and trampoline. They were never bored! We went to the beach a couple of times which was a short drive away, as well as the zoo. And the garden area was so lovely! The only suggestion I would make would be to include curtains on all the bedroom windows for more privacy. Other than that, the place was perfect. Definitely straight out of a magazine. We would stay again if we have the chance. Thank you!

Wonderful Christmas holiday
Our family (5 adults and two small boys) had a wonderful Christmas week at Seven Oaks. The house and garden were ideal, relaxing, comfortable, and family friendly, but still with attractive style and decor. The house is well provided with plenty of tableware, cutlery and cooking facilities. Additional bonuses were the lovely Christmas tree and the toys made available for the boys. Santa Barbara is a great place for a holiday and this house is in a fantastic setting. We would all love to go back again.

Fantastic place!
This place was the perfect place for our Santa Barbara Stay (2 couples and 3 kids). Wonderful setting. Very calm and peaceful (for great nights of sleep). Super comfortable home with everything you need (we planned a last minute picnic at the beach and I even found a small cooler+ freezer packs to place our food). Simply amazing for kids: we had two young boys (3 and 6) and we did not need to open our toy bag from home. There are plenty of toys inside (blocks, magnetic tiles, puzzles, musical toys, foosball table etc… and plenty (dozens and dozens) of books for kids all ages. VERY impressive.). Also, the outdoor space is incredible and the swing and trampoline were a hit with the kids. The bedrooms are very large and comfortable. Perfect! Would go back in a heartbeat!

What a great experience!
Perfect environment for families. Gorgeous, well-appointed home. Loved that it was nestled in the hills. It felt secluded but was a short drive to all Santa Barbara activities. We shared the home with another family. (So 2 couples and 4 kids total). Plenty of space, all the comforts of home. The outdoor amenities (zip line, trampoline, tree swing) kept our kids busy from morning til night when we were there. The hosts were so friendly and responsive. Check in & check out were easy. Definitely recommend it!

Great home for both adults and kids. Adults will appreciate the beautiful home, quiet setting and gorgeous scenery, plus convenience to SB. Kids will have a ton of fun in the yard on zip line and trampoline. Hosts were fantastic and provided easy check-in and great rec's on everything from beaches to restaurants!

Quiet retreat, spacious living areas and outdoor fun for the whole family
My wife and I had the absolute pleasure to stay in your house this past weekend for our son's graduation. From the moment that we pulled into the driveway, we were struck by how beautiful your house looked, completely lit up, showing the large expanses of glass where there would normally be walls. Walking inside the house, we were greeted by the bottle of wine, lemonade and chocolates. Did my wife tell you that lemonade was our son's favorite drink? We actually shipped him a whole package of that exact bottle. We loved the welcome and congratulations greeting that was written on the black board.
We quickly walked through all of the rooms, and were just delighted by how nice all of the rooms looked. I noticed that your house seemed to have a completely different light fixture for every area of the house. Walking into the kitchen, I was very pleased to see the Bose speakers, and was even more impressed that an Airport express was setup for both floors. We brought along a Bluetooth speaker for the graduation reception, so I was able to connect that speaker to the upstairs Airport.
I was surprised to open the door to the washer and dryer room, because I initially thought that it was a door to the pantry. I opened the door to the backyard, and saw the grill that I would later use to cook our Friday night dinner, which was a variety of Korean BBQ meat that we had purchased in San Diego before leaving. I liked the use of the tall bamboo as a natural screen.
Walking through each of the rooms felt like we were turning the pages of a Better Homes and Garden magazine. We were having a hard time believing that we were actually going to get to spend the entire weekend at such an amazing house. We had a pretty long drive up, so it didn't take long for all of us to get some rest in the comfortable beds that had been prepared for all of us.
When we woke the next morning, we found our daughter already in the front yard, keeping herself busy with the swings, trees, trampoline and zipline. We enjoyed having all of the outdoor seating, and the weather this past weekend was perfect for taking in the serene outdoors. In fact, we never even turned on the television, which is a big deal, considering that I had setup a home theater and media server at our house. We wanted to take advantage of the living spaces, both indoors and outdoors, while we had the chance.
We were truly blessed to have had the chance enjoy such a wonderful weekend with our family and friends.

Cozy Retreat!
The house is comfortable, very clean, and set up perfectly for a rental. The
kitchen is freshly remodeled--big, new, and very well equipped and organized.
It even has a large pantry. Two bedrooms up and two down make it a good house
for two families. Upstairs there's a large play room with a tv and lots of
games. Kid heaven!
The house is nicely set in the oaks, with attractive landscaping, a lovely
vegetable garden, and productive fruit trees. We saw lots of hummingbirds and
butterflies.
Outdoor areas are perfect for peaceful morning coffee or an evening cookout.
Our kids loved the rope swing and zip line, and we hosted friends in the outdoor
dining area.
The beach gear--chairs and boogie boards--was handy and well-organized. We used
it several times.
We loved the location. It's very private, but also close to downtown, the
beach, or the mountain trails.

Perfect, right out of a magazine
Wow, did we ever love staying at Seven Oaks. Rustic Santa Barbara living at its best. Right up the street from the Mission, tucked away in its own private neighborhood sits this beautiful rustic home. As a creative person, I loved how every bit of this great home was aesthetic. From original paintings to great quality homey furniture that made me feel like visiting a friend, absolutely everything on our wishlist to enjoy a relaxing vacation was there. Airy space, comfy beds with plenty of room for our two families to have shared space and personal space. Boogy boards, beach towels, outdoor candles for the table, books for every age and interest. One night we made a chocolate cake from scratch and every pan, measuring cup, bowl and mixer we could have wished for was there and so organized. Thank you for amazing hospitality. This is a truly special place that made a great memory and we look forward to our next visit.
