Walking distance to downtown and the courtyard very pleasant to sit and read.

This charming cottage decorated with antiques and, oh so many books, was perfect for our weekend. Its location made it an easy walk into town and the coast walking trail. The house was clean and had all the amenities needed, except salt and pepper in the kitchen. (I realize that’s a very minor thing.). The bed was comfortable as well. We would stay here again the next time we visit San Diego.

We liked the property overall and enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much, Anna!
Things we liked:
Comfortable beds
Great main bathroom shower
Washer and dryer
Lots of seating
Lots of towels, including beach towels (so grateful to find those)
Charming older cottage in a lovely neighborhood
Walkable to La Jolla Cove, La Jolla Shores Beach (there is a coastal trail a short walk down Park Row) and shops
Responsive host
Things we didn't like:
The kitchen gets extremely hot when using the oven.
Torrey Pines Road is SO LOUD. It was not peaceful to spend time on the patio, which was sad because the patio is beautiful.
La Jolla is a great place to vacation and we are happy that we had a chance to visit and stay in Anna's home.
Endless hot water

Well, the home is charming, cute, and the location is amazing. Cute little patios and lots of charm and flora. The street behind is busy and only heard while in the backyard. Inside it is quiet. My only improvement would suggest remove much of the contents as it is overly filled. This said, it is like going to grandmas. The second shower is limited on privacy. Location makes up for 99% of the challenges. Owner is sweet.

Stayed for our daughter's wedding. Perfect location, walking distance to the cove and wedding venue. It was also great to have a dog friendly place. Had everything we needed for our stay.

Kinda like visiting Grandma’s unique and interesting 90 year old cottage in one of America’s most beautiful “villages.”
Tons of space for 4 adults and a dog, very comfortable beds and furniture too, fantastic kitchen and laundry appliances, almost unbeatable location a couple blocks from downtown AND the coastal walk.
The property does back up to a busy street so the quaint and peaceful-looking garden usually comes with quite a bit of traffic noise. Total peace and quiet inside the house at all times though.
We would gladly stay here again.

This cottage is quaint and located in a perfect spot to explore all that La Jolla has to offer. Easy walking access to village restaurants and La Jolla cove. It’s a perfect couples retreat and communicating with the property owner was a breeze. 5 stars for a memorable stay!

Wonderful property and location; shops, restaurants and groceries within walking distance. Very comfortable stay and easy communication with Anna. Some items such as paper towels and more than one dishwasher pod would be useful. Overall, a great stay and we would definitely stay there again and/ or recommend to others. Thank you Anna!

As soon as we entered the house we were aware that it smelled very musty. Running the dehumidifer for two days did little to improve the problem. Opening windows, once the rain stopped, helped a little, but the smell came back. The house looks to be about 100 years-old, and the host has put some effort into redoing the kitchen and bathroom. But the house really needs a good code of paint. The host was very responsive to questions and when I suggested she needed a plumber to look at a leak in the water heater. Maybe wait until the rainy season ends before staying here.

The location of this property is perfect for visiting and hanging out in the village. We parked upon our arrival (parking is limited) and walked daily until we drove to the Farmer’s Market and into San Diego on Sunday.

We had a lovely stay at Anna’s home. Anna was responsive to any questions and the property’s location was great. Parking could be tough in the afternoon but that just gave us a good reason to walk or stay at the beach a little later. Overall, highly recommend.

La Jolla Getaway
The house was very well situated for exploring not only La Jolla but San Diego in general. The beds are super comfortable, there are plenty of towels and the kitchen is well stocked. If you are a light sleeper the road noise may bother you, you need to be strategic with parking. Spaces are hard to find during the day if you plan to go and come back a lot. When you leave and don’t make it back until after five, parking will not be that bad. Overall nice stay and would book again. Anna is very responsive and good with communication.

Stay-cation La Jolla, CA #locallygrown
Love. Love the property. I am already planning another visit. I enjoyed the location. I was able to urban hike, walk, run and. visit the nearby shops and beaches. I was concerned about the traffic noise, but it wasn't an issue, even with the windows open. At times. I heard "traffic", but overall great location for everything. The only thing that I had a little problem with was working the keys and locks on the door, and screen doors. Loved the large kitchen, and amenities for cooking, beverages and food service.
I had my sister over for lunch, and she showed interest for making reservations for her own stay. Thank you. I felt like I was at home.

Charming Beach Cottage in Beautiful La Jolla village
Enjoyed the location -walked easily to beautiful views at the coves- restaurants- shops-comfortable beach cottage -a little warm in afternoon but cooled easily by opening to screens for cross breezes- enjoyed the patio - street noise not an issue for us - slowed at night. Well outfitted. So grateful for the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful place with so many memories for us. Perfect location for mom and sisters getaway weekend. Hope to stay again!

Great Location
We stayed here for a few days and had a great stay. The location is great and close to downtown La Jolla which makes it great to stroll to breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks etc. We parked our car once and walked everywhere to explore.

Loved our stay!
Such a charming, quirky house. A plus regarding the location: We could walk everywhere in La Jolla. And we never had trouble with on street parking. Minus on the location: The backyard was very noisy with traffic just on the other side of the wall. However, I discovered a small secondary patio that was much quieter and I could start my day there. Loved having our dogs with us and we walked miles and miles on the beautiful La Jolla cliffs.

La Jolla Classic Cottage
2nd bathroom situation could be more fully explained. Nice patio. House is old and shows its age, but manageable. Lighting is mostly by lamps, many of which were missing one light bulb. Parking can be a challenge and getting in and out of the La Jolla area can be an adventure during rush hours. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, and beach - very nice!

Great quirky house
We enjoyed our stay, everything you need for a break provided. Quirky gothic house, interesting collection of mirrors and candelabra. Great library. Bit too cool to use the pretty garden , the busy highway behind the wall and out of sight not too intrusive in garden and fine in house. Good access to main streets and coast.

Super host
Our host was let down by her cleaner causing a few challenges with our stay. She went out of her way to make things right. At times these things happen and it’s usually not the event you remember it’s what action is taken. I would be delighted to visit again knowing we would have such a super host.

Great Location….very comfortable!!
Very comfortable bungalow in heart of La Jolla. Walk to everything…..but very accessible to I-5 if you want to go anywhere. Very comfortable beds and living spaces and great outdoor patio. Parking is easy except midday as folks working in town (waiters, etc.) park and walk down to Prospect & Girard Sts. But rest of time you just pull up front. Anna is very responsive host and lives right nearby if you need her.

Great Girlfriends Getaway!!
Just stayed at this lovely cottage for a small girlfriends getaway and had the best time! Central to so many things…Old Town, Balboa Park, La Jolla Shores, the Village, Coronado Island, etc. stayed quite busy during the day and enjoyed downtime with a glass of wine and a movie in the evenings.
The appointments in this cottage are amazing…very eclectic and interesting. Also, the beds are super comfy. Had a great time and would stay here again.

Anna who owns the house is a designer and it shows. The home looks like it could be in the pages of Architectural Digest, but in a very cosy and lived-in kind of way. The courtyard is a wonderful place to lounge or eat. The location is a quick walk to the sights of downtown La Jolla. The only minus is that it backs against the big street into La Jolla. Sometimes the cars can get a bit loud, but for a vacation rental it wasn’t a problem. And it didn’t disturb our sleep.Highly recommended

Wonderful Host, Nice home
We had a wonderful relaxing visit at Anna's home in La Jolla. Anna was very accommodating, allowing us to defer our trip when the pandemic first hit and throughout as the travel protocols changed over the following 18 months; many hosts would not have been as accommodating, but Anna was a true professional and always sympathetic to the situation, and worked with us for many months to find a mutually acceptable time to reschedule our visit - we really appreciate it! The home is a wonderful beach cottage in a great location in downtown La Jolla - walkable to everything, and very relaxing. The road noise described in prior reviews can be loud, but it dies down in the evening. We had a wonderful time - thanks Anna!

We really enjoyed our stay. Overall it was very pleasant. It is a well designed home with a nice architectural flow to it. It’s nicely appointed with antique furniture that is more comfortable than it looks. The kitchen is great, with a beautiful new gas stove which looks almost out of place among all the antiques in the place. It has a lovey backyard, with a dining table, comfy lounge and a charcoal grill. It’s not without minor shortcomings. It is right on Torrey Pines Blvd, the main artery in an out of La Jolla, so there is street noise. And in warmer times (like this time of year), you need to keep the windows/doors open as there is no AC, and so you hear the traffic noise more. La Jolla is not generally a hot area, and so no surprise that there is no central air. But if it were really hot, this might not the most comfortable place to stay. The only thing to keep in mind is there is only street parking and it can be tough to find spots depending on the time of day. But we had good parking karma, so hopefully you will too. Overall highly recommend for the space, the great location in a very nice neighborhood, walking distance to great restaurants, coffee shops and shopping.

Great location
Very comfortable for us. Would not have worked if there were two couples. Second bathroom is at other end of house, through the kitchen and laundry room, containing only toilet and sink. Second shower located in laundry room, but no door to block it from kitchen, meaning no privacy.
Anna was great. She dealt with two problems effortlessly. We had a plumbing issue and it was fixed in half an hour! Also she came and personally dealt with the cable company to reset the cable for us.
We were not totally happy with the noise level when sitting outside on the otherwise lovely patio. The neighborhood, and neighbors, are great.

beautiful home
A beautiful home in a great location with easy access to downtown, the ocean, and Vons grocery store. The backyard was really nice although there was a lot of noise due to traffic. Otherwise, the house was perfect.

This place, at first the not having AC was a shock, but I contacted Anna she told me to open front and back doors and the place stayed at 68-70 the whole week. Anna was extremely responsive to everything I asked and in most cases less than a hour. The only issue was with parking and that was only from 930-530 after that we had two cars parked in front of the house, and never parked further than the park. If I get the chance to stay here again I will.Great house
