Great location and host was fantastic! It was even better than we expected. The house accommodated 8 adults easily and was extremely comfortable and cozy. Access to the water was a bonus as several in our party were over 65 - they were able to walk without much difficulty. We hope to be able to stay here again soon. What a wonderful getaway!

The home and accommodations were all well done. I definitely recommend this rental. The lake access via the beach or the dock was very nice and we used them both a lot. The canoe needs a paddle, as the kayak paddles don't work well with it. I had one son who arrived after me bring a paddle so we still made good use of the canoe.

Love all the life jackets available! The sandy beach is great for little ones. We lucked out as the water temperature was perfect for swimming and floating. Lots of fun jumping off the dock and also having a campfire. We played charades on the deck with the nice outdoor couches.

Deep water, good fishing! As super-hosts ourselves we can be a bit picky, and we would definitely vacation here again.
Our group had ages 8 to 80s and everyone had a great time! The house was lovely; the beach, boat dock and decks were all put to good use - great fishing, great views (and loved watching the red-headed woodpeckers nest). Beds were comfy, kitchen was well stocked and there was plenty of parking. Level lot made for easy loading and unloading to get our toys to the water. Thanks for the memories 😊

Nice to have bathrooms on every floor. Swimming off the dock was great. Pictures were accurate. Only misleading item was it stated it sleeps 18 but the price per night is based on 15 and then the add on for each additional person.

The house was spacious and easily accomodated our family. I do wish that the description would have been more clear about the need to either bring plenty of personal towels (kitchen and bath) since the washer and dryer were not to be used for personal towels or to be sure and rent towels from the owner. I'm not sure if the washer and dryer were available to launder the rental towels. Luckily, one of our party came later and was able to bring plenty of towels for us to use without laundering.
Also, there is an inventory list of all items that are supposed to be in each space of the house. It would have been nice to have the loveseat that was inventoried in place on the main floor living space. There was really only enough comfortable seating for 5 or 6 in that space without the loveseat.
The house was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare our meals.
The lower level was very peaceful, cool, and was my favorite part of the home. My youngest grandaughter was fresh from girl scout camp and learned to kayak on her own had a wonderful time using the available kayaks! The dock had plenty of space and it was very nice to have a covered area to avoid the direct sun and the couple of showers that passed through the area.
Overall this home was comfortable, had a great view of the main lake and the neighbors to the left were friendly and kind to us "renters". ;-)

Beautiful house and view on lake Gaston.!! After booking it,owner stated some repairs were being done after the holidays -like the indoor fireplace wasn’t working and we specifically looked for a place with a fireplace so that was very disappointing . Some cleanliness issues but the owner was informed and will address it. Lots of rules and inventory lists in every room to follow exactly. We Rented linens as we had a large group and it wasn’t convenient to all bring our own. Never had to rent linens before. Had to count them before and after. Owner was kind and friendly, calling us at the end of stay. Pet friendly was wonderful-great space for pets. Grounds are well kept and the dock/boathouse was great. Kayaks are available. Would definitely rent again and recommend as long as you follow all the rules to
Take care of the house.

We stayed at the crows nest for Christmas and it was perfect. There were 15 of us total and everyone was beyond happy. Booking was easy and if there was any questions the owner was fast to respond. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need to prepare a meal. The younger folks really enjoyed the game room. Although it was super cold we enjoyed watching the sunset and sunrise on the huge deck. There are 2 refrigerators and that came in handy with all the food and drinks we brought. Sleeping arrangements were perfect for our group. 3 different levels gave us even more privacy but yet we were all still together.
We enjoyed our stay so much we are thinking about looking into a visit sometime this summer or next Christmas. It was the perfect Christmas for our family.

This was the oddest rental experience. It started with none of the beds made and the sheets stuffed in pillowcases did not fit one of the beds. We scrambled to find a make do for the 75+ adults in our group who needed help getting set up. There were things not so great in between, but we could have overlooked them. The framed inventory of every item in the rooms, lamps with no light bulbs, this was odd. Icing on the cake, an invoice for the $13 pool ball missing and getting reprimanded by the owner for not racking the balls and getting called a week later questioning if we broke an Adirondack chair. Luckily, we took pictures when we left, all chairs were in tact. Owner could improve customer experience.

Greatly enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Very clean and offers plenty of sleeping arrangements. Easy access to boat slip as well.
Would recommend adding new storage shelves for Groceries as 1 cabinet is not enough.
Very happy with stay overall and recommend to anyone.

Fix
Rose Marie was very obliging when things went wrong. The house was fine. Needs some work. Didn’t like that beds were not made and the sheet issue was a problem. Beds should be made. Sheets were left on beds in a pillow case for us to make up. Some were wrong sizes. Couch on porch needs new cushions, they were very moldy.
Location was good, view beautiful, enjoyed the kayaks. Just needs a little upkeep. Rose Marie was great to work with.

Beautiful view.
The view and location of this property was excellent. The house was a great size for our group of 6 adults and 2 children. The easy slope to the water was perfect for all ages. The furnishings were well worn. The sheets were clean but stained and past their prime. We were very disappointed in the rented towel package. Again, the towels were clean but should have been replaced a long time ago. On every door and room wall, was an inventory list of contents clearly stating guests would be charged for anything amiss. I've never seen guests treated this way.

Great relaxing getaway. Only noted cobwebs in some windows and rooms. Hot water system could be upgraded to instantaneous. Would still recommend or rent again.

Pictures don't do any justice
Much more beautiful in person. We enjoyed being under one roof, something we haven't done since childhood. This was what we needed...it was sooo peaceful and it had everything we needed...toys for the kids....canoes and boats for the men..a lovely beach area, patio and kitchen for the women.

Great time even offseason
Wonderful views of the Lake. House is very well equipped. The teens loved the first floor and it was nice they had their own space. Owner is very responsive. We had zero issues. House was clean and everything was in working order. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Find Another House
The house is just OK. There are a lot nicer houses on the lake for this price. The property owner is very difficult. Be aware, she makes accusations of property damage that are being disputed. She claims we damaged a table we didn't even use. The mattress in the upstairs bedroom needs replacing. It was so mushy in the middle, it was like sleeping in the crease of a hot dog bun. It took several tries to get the dishwasher to work. Several of the mugs were chipped. There was a leak in the pipe in the upstairs bedroom. One downstairs room has zero windows. One of the downstairs bedrooms does not have a fan. The couch was uncomfortable. The pullout couch in the loft was like sleeping on nails. The kitchen countertops are tile with grout. Can you image all the gross things that collect in that grout?? According to the check out book all kitchen towels must be accounted for, however, none were provided. There are a lot of better houses on the lake.

Fun and Relaxing!
We had a great time at this beautiful property. Loved sitting
inside and outside watching the water and stars--beautiful scenery and great house location. We needed a relaxing getaway and we got it! House and kitchen were extremely well stocked with anything you could need or want for entertainment and enjoyment. Host was super welcoming and responsive. Would love to visit again!

Fabulous house and property!
Gorgeous house with all the amenities of home! Whether sitting on the dock, at the firepit, in the swinging chair or the expansive deck, it was truly a spectacular view. There are no houses directly across the water, so it is an interrupted view of nature. Options to get into the water- shallow sandy beach or jumping in off the dock- a real crowd pleaser for all ages! We will be back!
