What a wonderful place to stay in Panama City! Our flight was delayed over 3 hours and we arrived at the penthouse wry late. Juan was still there waiting for us. He greeted us warmly and gave us a comprehensive tour of the penthouse. The penthouse itself is stunning with the perfect blending of the historic and modern. We throughly enjoyed our stay and you will too!

Really cool unit! Great mix of original architecture, modern upgrades and very interesting art. It’s well equipped and the ample AC is a great respite from the Panama heat and humidity. The entire process of booking and check-in went very smoothly, and special thanks to Juan who was always available to assist. The only cautions I would offer are there are lots of stairs, and the highest bedroom is very noisy at night with music coming from multiple rooftop venues. Boy those Casco people know how to party!

The rooms are as fascinating as the city surrounding the home… like staying in a living museum. When we needed a break, we enjoyed coming back to the house for a dip in the pool. Everyone associated with the listing was friendly, helpful and responsive making our trip even more enjoyable. We highly recommend Juan for any outings you may have.

Nice apartment, but you have to go up four flights to get to it, and there is construction right next door, so there banging all day. We didn't have air conditioning in the living for the whole stay, and at night there was disco music from a nearby club until 2am. Lastly the beds are old and soft, and they don't have a grill as pictured on the ad.

We loved the location of the penthouse. Juan was very very helpful with luggage, and fixing some problems with water.
1st floor of penthouse was nicely appointed. We would stay here again.

This is truly a special property. It's absolutely stunning; beautifully renovated with natural walls and flooring. It's walking distance to cathedrals, government buildings, great restaurants, bars, etc. Or you can view it all from the rooftop swimming pool!!! The host was amazing; attentive and helpful in every way. There are a lot of stairs as it's the penthouse, which may be difficult for elderly or those with bad knees. I will definitely stay here again, highly recommended!!

Casco Perfect
We stayed two nights with our older boys and had a really good time. Panama City was hot as expected, but the A/C kept us cool in the rooms. The pool was refreshing on a nice July morning. We could walk to all the old town sites, restaurants, shops, bars, and mini-convenience stores. The house is very unique with a perfect Casco Viejo old town vibe. It has 3 levels, so lots of options on who sleeps where. Stairs are steep, but not a big deal for us. Loved the Peruvian restaurant 1 block away. We also enjoyed the beat from the roof top bar about a block away as we had a few local beers on the our own rooftop terrace, but we didn't hear the loud music once we went inside, we brought earplugs just in case, but didn't need them. Just great overall experience!

Party Area
This property is located in the party part of the city. Loud music, horn honking and black vultures grunting don’t allow for sleep. The music plays until 3 in the morning and the vulture concert starts at about 5 in the morning. The linens/towels were in need of replacement. We were there for a family wedding. We had a 2 year old and the stairs presented a challenge. The cleaniness was less than desirable. I guess if you are there to party, and only stay a night or two, this location will suffice.

Celebrating in the old city
We wanted a unique place to stay for our group and this met our needs. Great views from the upper levels and balcony, large table for card playing, well equipped kitchen and pool area. Close to restaurants and bars and yes you can hear the noise late into the night but we adjusted to it after the first night. Convenient place for pickup by our driver and good neighbor for walking if you stay close by.

Perfect Location, Really nice Apartment!
The Apartment was in the perfect location close to amazing restaurants, coffee shops and sites to visit. The pool was cold, which was perfect for the 90 degree weather, a great way to cool off. The views were amazing. The artwork was really fun. The beds were really comfortable, and the air conditioner kept the rooms nice and cool. Aylin was quick to respond to questions. There is a free parking lot by the water right near the apartment, if you can time the parking correctly to get a spot. You can hear the music from the roof top bars if you are sitting outside, but once in your bedrooms, you cannot not hear it. We would definitely recommend this apartment in this wonderful neighborhood, it is the place to stay!

Unique space with amazing views
This apartment was so welcome and lovely after having spent five days aboard a monohull sailboat in San Blas Islands with our family of six. The location is perfect for launching out to explore Casco Viejo. The other review are correct in mentioning the noise at night from the pumping beat of rooftop bars. We brought ear plugs and that helped. The taxis and cars are also likely to disturb you if you don't bring someway to drown out the noise. Check in was easy and as we had arrived early we were allowed to bring our luggage up to the apartment while it was still being prepared for us. There are a lot of stairs as this is the old watchtower for Casco Viejo but we found it only added to the charm of the space. There is a wonderful restaurant on the ground floor called Todo Avo and the food and coffer were delicious. There are some signs of wear and tear in the apartment such as the patio furniture and some rust on gates, but we felt very comfortable and happy in the watchtower apartment with our family. We definitely recommend it for your stay.

What a cool place!!!!!
We loved our stay here. The location cannot be beat and the property is just so interesting! I'm very glad I read the reviews before booking, because there were some definitely some challenges, but since I knew about them, it didn't ruin our trip.
Pay attention to the comments about music ALL NIGHT LONG. As loud as if it were in the room with you. White noise machine took care of it on the main floor, but there's nothing to be done about it up in the penthouse. If you like the nightlife, it won't bother you at all!
Cleanliness was a bit less than I'd hoped for, some issues with linens, but there were extras and the hosts responded right away when I reported it.
There are a lot of stairs up to and in the apartment. Again, I knew this, but my 76 year old Mom is still zinging me about not warning her adequately! Of note, the lights are out in the stairwell to the upstairs restroom and bedroom, so bring a flashlight, it gets pretty dim in there since the stairs are dark stone.
I also knew the outdoor furniture had some complaints....from a year ago. I suppose I thought it would have been replaced by now. I really wanted to sit in that swing by the pool, but it's broken. You can still hang out up there on the pool deck, but you can't sit anywhere other than in the pool, which is PERFECT after wandering all over Casco for the day.
The comments about the bus boys from the restaurant downstairs being willing to carry up luggage? Does not apply anymore. There is a new, GREAT, restaurant there, but don't ask them if they want to carry your luggage up for money, they DID NOT LIKE THAT! We made up later after eating their delicious food, but it was a rough start to our trip, carrying all our luggage upstairs my scrawny self while my Mom cackled behind me about "all these stairs".
There is no welcome book as I'm accustomed to from other stays, so make sure you ask about the wifi before you arrive. Again, hosts responded immediately to help.
The hosts are AWESOME. So nice, so helpful. We utilized their driver friend, Walter, whom I also cannot say enough nice things about. He met us at the airport, made our trip to the apartment so easy and stress-free. The hosts were available to answer any question or concern I had and they would have even done more, I'm sure, if I'd complained. But again, since the previous reviews were very accurate, nothing that happened made me wish I were anywhere but there. I'd go back in a heartbeat!! <3

Casco Viejo hidden gem
Me and 3 other friends stayed at Aylin's place which is located in Casca Viejo. The property is very nice. I really enjoyed deck on the roof overlooking the city. The property is ver spacious and environmental friendly. I would recommend this property to those who do not mind stairs and love open space. Aylin is also a very thoughtful host and regularly checked up on us via Whatsapp to see if anything was needed.

A great apartment in the Old City
We really enjoyed this apartment. The previous negative review wasn’t wrong about the loud music (we just turned on our white noise app) or a bit of outdoor shabbiness, but those were minor things, truly. The apartment is very pretty and the bathrooms were awesome and Aylin provided everything we needed. Lots of towels, which is always nice. The location is in the heart of the old city, which was great. Lots of terrific restaurants within three or four blocks. Several outdoor spaces as well; we loved those. And the pool was nice to have. There’s a queen or king in the master bedroom and then another normal bed upstairs. But there’s a big couch as well. This was a very good AirBnb in my opinion.

Poorly maintained, noisy, exterior areas neglected.
Too bad, 10 or 15 years ago this was someone's dream home. Now there are light bulbs burned out in almost every area, the handle fell off the lower shower and thus no hot water could be had, the outdoor furniture is disintegrating; only 2 usable chairs on the lower level balcony, upper level pool area none and top level patio furniture is mostly unusable with the recent addition of some 'cheap' Home Depot patio chairs (not in character with the original unique design of the upper levels). Photos urgently need to be updated and most of all, it would only be fair to prospective tenants to inform them that on the upper level you must keep the windows closed at night because within 12 feet of your bedroom door is a bartender serving the roof top lounge for the neighboring hotel .. literally eye ball to eye ball, the door opens towards the back of the bar. About 1 block away is an even worse roof top bar that on our last night blasted incredible decibel levels of boom boom boom until just past 3am .. no reason for one business to interfere in the peace and quiet of another business's guests but until some sort of decibel control is put in place in Casco Viejo that will continue to be a problem at this rental location. 3 blocks away are rentals and hotels that still do not suffer from the boom boom of roof top bars. We were told that this was the celebration of Fiestas Patrias but in speaking with other visitors in the area this particular location seems to be the one that gets it from both sides all year long ... Another down side to this address is that because the Presidential residence is a block away in the opposite direction, there is absolutely NO stopping in the street .. loading and unloading luggage must be done at the next corner up .. what a hassle that is. Finally, when I considered booking here I asked about a bathroom on the same level as the 'penthouse' bedroom (this rental is spread out over 3 floors and is two floors up from the street), did I misunderstand? .. turns out, you must leave the room ( AND get dressed if the bartender is on duty next door) go down one flight of stairs to access the bathroom at night .. a little uncomfortable for anyone who needs to relieve themselves during the night. So, even with new patio furniture the noise and bathroom situation would probably deter me from ever renting here again. Finally, Aylin & Paola, the house staff, did a wonderful job in their duties and allowed us to check out late.

Holiday in Panama City
The location of this stay is ideal for seeing the old city, Casco Viejo. You are a short walk to the sea, restaurants and bars. There is a perfect coffee shop, Cafe Sucre, a few steps up the street.
The apartment is spread over 3 floors, and is located above a pizza restaurant, which is very convenient, and the make great mohitos too.
The apartment is air conditioned and comfortable. Our hostess was there to greet us, and quick to reply to our text messages.
