About this house rental
This house really is a dream vacation home for families. There is plenty of space for everyone and so many places to relax and make memories together.
There are two bedrooms on the first floor, both with an adjacent full bathroom. There is a master suite on the second floor, as well as an awesome bunk room that the kids are sure to love! There is a bathroom in the bunk room with a bath for the little ones. The basement has a ping pong table, as well as buckets of lawn toys because you will most definitely need them to play on the football field sized lawn in the backyard! This house has a great grilling area and the accordion window allows you to pass items and food easily from kitchen to grill. There is a covered patio if you prefer to be out of the sun, and there are also two decks for you to relax on with a cup of coffee or a cocktail. The fire pit is wood burning and perfect for roasting marshmallows!
First Beach is just one mile away from this property, which makes beach days fun and easy. We do have beach chairs for your use!
Sorry, we do NOT permit large gatherings such as rehearsal dinners, lobster bakes, or after wedding brunches. We do however love to have large families and groups of friends who are looking to enjoy the nearby beaches, the history of the area, the fun of downtown Newport, and most of all, being together.

We stayed for a long weekend at The Barn and are so happy with our experience and stay. The Barn is absolutely gorgeous. It is located on a busier road, however, the house is set back far and is set on a beautiful, large property. The owner Teresa was so accommodating, kind, and helpful. The house is clean, organized, and checked off all of our boxes and beyond. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for our long weekend! Thank you!

My group of 7 family/friends stayed here for a golf weekend. The house was perfect - clean, large enough, and exactly as described. All of the bedrooms were great - the bunk room was a hit. Pleasantly surprised by the quantity and quality of all of the bathrooms. The hangout space in the basement was fun - I’m surprised they haven’t fully finished the space down there!
Communication with the host was fine - we did not need her during our stay, but was very helpful to ensuring we were all set leading up to our visit.
The accordion window from the kitchen to the deck was a hit and a great way to extend the living spaces. The yard was a great place to hang out, although the grass was quite long and very thick which made playing in it a bit of a challenge. We were also disappointed to discover that the golf hole at the end of the backyard was not an actual hole, just a pole with no flag. Although we probably would not have spent much time playing with that as there was a coyote family that appeared to have had a den right under the tree next to the “golf hole”. Either way, the yard was beautiful to look at and made for a nice backdrop.
The location was a quick 10 minute drive to the heart of downtown Newport. We ubered and had no troubles getting a car to pick us up at the house.

We had a wonderful stay at The Barn! That back yard is amazing!! The fire pit, the under the deck oasis and the kitchen-to-the-outside window — all so awesome! The property is secluded but close to everything! We loved how close the house is to the bird sanctuary - great place to walk and can’t beat the views. The Cliff Walk, mansion tours, Second Beach, renting mopeds and electric bikes are some of our favs. Thanks for our home away from home.

The house is beautiful! Everything was just perfect. It was my Daughters wedding weekend and the house was large enough for all the bridesmaids to get ready. The house was very clean with plenty of towels and beds were so comfy. The location was great and I would definitely rent this house again!

We had a fantastic stay with grandparents, aunts/uncles and cousins in this beautiful property. The house was immaculate, and outside space was fantastic, even in January. We were able to jog to the beach (about a mile), but the road is busy. The kids loved the bunk room and ping pong table. The master bedroom is ridiculously big. Other bedrooms are small but comfortable (full beds, not queen). We wished there were more sitting options in the living room, but the dining room table was awesome for family meals and games. The open concept was great. Owner and property manager were quick and friendly with responding to questions. Overall, an awesome experience. We would definitely come again!

Our family just got back from a wonderful getaway to Newport for Thanksgiving week. The home was everything we were looking for to make our annual Thanksgiving gathering special. The home provided the perfect setting to create long lasting memories. There was plenty of room to spread out and relax. The bedrooms were great and spacious. The bunk bed room was a hit with our girls who got t spent quality cousins time together. We were blessed with mild weather so we were able to take advantage of the big backyard. The ping pong table was a big hit. The location of the house also allowed us to take advantage of everything Newport had to offer. It was the perfect place to start this holiday season. Thank you !! This house was everything we were hoping for. Great location, great set up, and very clean. It is exactly as advertised. I rented this for a team (work) get together. Had 9 folks staying at the house and it accommodated all of us perfectly. I would highly recommend, and we would definitely rent it again. Not sure we could have had a better set up.

Loved our stay at this property!! A group of family and friends stayed here together and all of us loved the experience!! Every room is very thoughtfully decorated and beautiful. Comfortable beds! The space is a lot of fun with games and ping pong, and an indoor/ outdoor bar top area. If you’re looking for a place that says Rhode Island, this is your place!! Great location, great views from the backyard, and great communication with the owner. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!!

What an awesome spot!
We were traveling with 4 groups in total and this spot was ideal in allowing us all to have our own space to stretch out. Each bedroom has its own bathroom (and all the beds in the bunk room are queens, which was a really nice surprise for the kids).
The property is really perfect for a large group in general - a huge backyard to run around and play games, as well as a large patio with a large dining table, and a separate spot underneath to shield from the sun if need be. The accordion doors that open into the kitchen was a really cool feature – a great spot to enjoy coffee or a drink while enjoying the view. Despite being on a busier road, its actually very quiet and peaceful in the backyard. Everything in the house was nicely adorned, very clean and well kept, and a lot of amenities were provided, which was much appreciated.
The house is very close to everything. There are plenty of stores on the street its on to grab food, coffee, bagels, and whatever else you need. The beach was just around the corner, which allowed us very easy trips back and forth with the kids. Newport is very close – so an easy trip to enjoy the town without having to be close to the “noise”.
All in all - really couldn’t think of a better place for us to spend our family vacation. We look forward to hopefully staying here again in the future!

Wow! We couldn't have found a better house to stay in We were vacationing in the Newport area and attending the Folk Festival with our children, their spouses and our granddaughter. The house was impeccable and had so much to offer. We had coffee and bagels and BBQ's and evening drinks on the large deck, played games in the huge backyard, relaxed in the covered recreation room looking out over the rear property, and played ping pong on the basement. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. The location was central with easy access to beaches, shops and the Festival. Theresa was extremely responsive. We hope to go back next year and years following.

This is a very comfortable property, and a great home to gather friends and family. It's very near to downtown Newport, and beaches. We loved bbq'ing, enjoying the sunsets, the seating areas, and playing ping pong in the downstairs play room. The beds all are super comfortable, and the bunk room has all double beds, so great for the older kids too. The air conditioning was a plus! I hope we can return some day.

Beautiful home!!! Was absolutely perfect for our family group coming from the west coast to RI. The house was bright, well appointed, extremely clean, great bathrooms and very comfortable beds and linens! The gathering spaces were great, especially the huge deck! Had a lot of fun around the fire pit one evening! The home was so close to everything! So easy to get to downtown Newport. So happy I chose to rent “The Barn” !

The process was smooth. Teresa was very responsive and helpful. The house itself was a great setup. The large backyard was great for the kids. The one negative was location on a busy street with limited sidewalks and easy walks in a residential neighborhood. Noise not an issue. Mostly the lack of pedestrian opportunities. Easy drive to great beach ( Second Beach ) and Newport.

Everything was absolutely amazing! The Barn is a beautiful property and we couldn’t think of a better place to have to ride out a storm while on vacation. Everything is immaculate and there is plenty of space. We had a group of ten ladies with plenty of room to hang out and relax. We had a fantastic stay at The Barn! The house is beautifully situated just a few minutes from downtown Newport and has all the amenities you could want. Big, open living areas, comfortable beds, updated appliances, and an incredible outdoor living space. The house was spotless and the instructions from Theresa were clear and easy to understand. She gets back to you immediately on any questions you have and is a fantastic all-around host. Would highly recommend any of her properties!

AMAZING!!!! From start to finish... AMAZING!! Teresa was a pleasure to communicate with and was prompt with answering all my questions. The house is Stunning! We went there for a girlfriends getaway 50th bday celebration. The house is not only spotless but has every amenity you can think of! You don't have to bring a thing. It was such a joy to have soap and shampoo/conditioners in all the bathrooms, all the dish soaps, garbage bags, toilet paper, paper towel. Honestly, for a bunch of women who are "doers" it was bliss to only have to think about who's pouring the next drink :) The beds are super comfy and the bunk room was the highlight! The 4 bunk beds are queens! Having 4 grown women all in one room, was like being at college again. The fire pit was beautiful (they even supply you with starter wood) and the outdoor area was a highlight watching the sunrise and sunsets each day. The location is perfect. Just a quick mile walk down to the beach and then if you enjoy longer walks, we walked to second beach every day (about 3 miles). Can either walk (again if you are active) or short drive to the Cliff Walk. If you can tell, I can go on and on, so I'll stop and let you book this house for your next trip and let you continue with the rave reviews! Thank you again Teresa!!
