About this cabin rental
Welcome to our lovely, recently renovated, historic cabin right in the heart of the Town of Grand Lake. Warm, inviting and charming, you will enjoy all that Grand Lake has to offer. It has all the comforts of home, but is steps from the grandeur that is Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park. Dogs will love it here too with a nice fenced in yard.
Our cabin is one block off the main street boardwalk, filled with great shops, restaurants, bars and many other treats. This cabin is also located directly across the street from the main playground, basketball court, Town Hall, Town Park and the Juniper Library. Walk to everything! In winter, the basketball court is converted to an ice rink — so fun, bring your skates! We have recently added a much bigger front porch for relaxing or watching the kids play in the park. This cabin is for families and people who like to be a part of it all: hang out at the local coffee shops, bakeries, walk to the beach, see the parades, town events, art fair, theater, music festivals, participate in bingo, just meet new people, etc. Of course you will have to take in all the lakes have to offer, such as sit on the beach and play in the sand, rent a boat (or bring your boat!) or go fishing. We offer three kayaks in the summer to make the fun even greater (must sign waiver). And take in the sheer beauty of the area with so many hiking trails, lakes and rivers to explore, and only 5 minute drive to Rocky Mountain National Park. Enjoy Bingo Fridays and Saturdays every week throughout the summer, snowmobiling, ice skating and ice fishing in the winter, book talks for the kids at the library, a show at the Repertory Theater, etc. There is also a private patio to enjoy in the summer. This area is host to varied wildlife, which you have a very good chance of seeing even in our backyard, such as moose, bear, elk, fox, hummingbirds and butterflies. The wonderful ski resort of Winter Park/Mary Jane is only a 45 minute drive away.
The cabin has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. We have recently added a private ensuite above the garage, adding more space and capacity, which includes a beautiful new bathroom. The first floor has been renovated with rustic hardwood floors and a new gas fireplace/stove. The first floor has 1 bedroom with a queen size bed and updated bathroom, living room with fireplace, dining room, kitchen and a mudroom with full laundry facilities. The second floor is sort of a divided but shared area (no doors) with sloped ceilings, with a queen size bed on one side, and three single beds on the other side (perfect for the kids), as well as a small bathroom with an antique claw foot tub, so nice for soaking. We also have a pack 'n play/crib for the baby. As mentioned above, then we have a new large ensuite with queen bed and attached bathroom above the garage, also with a cute alcove with a double bed. Dogs are allowed, please no cats. We would appreciate you cleaning up after your dog as well. Thanks! For safety and security, we have one video camera by the front door.
As stated on the Town of Grand Lake’s website: “Located at the headwaters of the Colorado River and situated on the shores of Grand Lake, Colorado's largest natural body of water, the Town of Grand Lake is the western gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. Home of the world's highest registered yacht club, the nation's highest altitude golf course with grass greens, and Colorado's premiere summer musical company, Grand Lake offers a unique getaway for all. Also adjacent to Arapaho National Recreation Area, Grand Lake has been dubbed the 'Snowmobile Capital of Colorado' due to its access from Town to Colorado's largest network of groomed snowmobile trails. A year-round vacationer's paradise for over one-hundred years, Grand Lake welcomes you.”

Wonderful to be near the Lake and the shops and RMNP. It doesn’t get any better!

Cabin and patio/yard gave us plenty of room to spread out and socialize. Grand County was under a burn ban during our visit so we were unable to enjoy the firepit or charcoal grill. A propane grill as a backup for these situations would be good to bring along.

This was our first time with the Grandson (1 year old). He has a GREAT time. Loved checking out all the rooms and stairs in the house. The dog and Grandson enjoyed exploring the yard. Being across from the town park was wonderful. Less than a minute walk to the swing set, his favorite.
Already looking forward to next year!!!

Great location for families with kids--the park and playground are just across the street. Library, main street, the lake shore are all easy walks. Plenty of sleeping rooms and bathrooms in this older cabin with quirky add-ons. A bit of a yard. Use of kayaks. The common living area/living room is small. As others have said, it could use more lighting -- there's like one lamp for the living room area. Overall a good place for a good family stay in Grand Lake.

It was nice to bring my son and his best friend, who is from Germany and never been to Colorado, up to Grand Lake. GL is my happy place and I knew they would love it, they did. As a single dad I cherish the moments like playing some pond hockey on the lake together and then going to local bar to have some drinks…it was such a nice fun weekend.

Very unassuming from the outside but it was exactly what we needed for 8 people to stay there. Clean, cozy, and welcoming. Very enjoyable time while we were there.

Overall we loved our stay! Plenty of room and bathrooms for 5 adults. If you are able to spend time on the porch it is lovely to spend an afternoon on. Would recommend improving the light fixtures to allow more light. It can get a bit dark and would help.

This cabin is our favorite for stats with our extended family. Lots of privacy for everyone. East Access to the village shops, restaurants and, importantly, the lake.

This is the best cabin to stay at by far. When First looking at the info and pictures it was hard to tell how big the cabin was for sleeping 8 people but when you get there and take the tour of the cabin it is crazy crazy big and comfy and felt like home the whole trip. If your looking to go to grand lake and be close to down town and the lake and a play ground this is 100% the place all is easy walking to each. Thank you for the stay and all you have provided on our stay.

Super cozy cabin. Fit our family of 5 wonderfully. Can't get a better location in town. The playground was literally across the street which thw kids loved! Definitely recommend.

This was our fourth time renting a VRBO with kids in GL and this was the best yet! Right across from the park, really kid friendly, and big enough for space for two couples + kids. The cabin is a cabin, so don't be thrown off by the steep stairs or the bathrooms off the bedrooms only. It is perfect for a getaway and really does feel like a great mountain escape. We had our three year old and one year old and our two friends in from Sweden. The room above the garage is perfect if you are bringing alone non-kid adults to give some peace and quiet :) Enjoy!!

Perfect location and cozy but spacious cabin
This VRBO provided our crew of 3 small family units to enjoy all that Grand Lake has to offer. It’s location just a 5 minute walk from the boardwalk and the lake enabled us to each do the things we wanted yet quickly and easily reconnect for a meal at one of several restaurants. The cabin quarters were perfect and the big rocking chairs on the front porch were always in use. Our dogs were also happy to be with us and enjoyed the spacious fenced in yard.

Fantastic Location
Can not ask for a better location when staying in Grand Lake. The house is across the street from Bingo and the park. Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. The house is very nice and we especially enjoyed the yard and porch. Next time we are in Grand Lake, we hope to be able to rent the house again.

Charming Home nestled in Grand Lake Colorado
Everything was completely amazing. All the amenities, washer dryer, shower and a bathtub, along with access to TV shows. We had a different meal each night in town which was all walking distance and it snowed the whole time, we couldn’t have asked for a better Christmas!!!!

My spouse and I enjoyed our stay very much. The front porch in the evening was perfect. Our dogs were welcome, too, and the yard made our trip even more enjoyable.

Excellent location clean and quiet but a stretch to say it has two bathrooms. Very small. Garbage disposal doesn’t work.

Nice trip except for road construction and steep stairs
Property is adequately outfitted, it was nice to have the fenced yard for the dogs. The lighting inside could have been brighter. Road construction right in front was noisy and distracting. That of course was no fault of the property owner.

Best Location. Cute and Cozy
Really loved this little cabin. Very well equipped kitchen. Eclectic decor with cute little touches everywhere. Upstairs is a little tight for full grown people, perfect for little kids. The yard is great for your dog. THANK YOU!

Neighborhood mess
Very disappointed when we arrived to find that the length of our road in front of the house was torn up. We could not drive on it, nor cross it to get to town or the park. Sitting on the porch was impossible. Huge trucks went back and forth all day with back up beeping and the smell of diesel constant. This was dawn to dusk and ruined the peacefulness of the place. No sitting on porch with your coffee. We actually left a day early.
The owner should have contacted the renters to let them have the opportunity to cancel their trip without penalty.
Granted the owner could not have known what the city planned, but when it became apparent she should have contacted us.
I asked for my money back. She reimbursed me for the day I didn’t stay. 16 hour drive for this! So disappointing.

This cabin was a perfect place for a family vacation with a 3 year old! We loved having the playground so close!! The front porch was our favorite place to sit in the evenings. The ONLY thing we disliked was that the downstairs bed wasn’t super comfortable but besides that everything was great! We will be coming back for sure !

Perfect Location and Clean Comfy Cabin
This was our fave place to stay in Grand Lake and we try to stay every year. Clean, lovely cabin with tons of great touches and we loved the layout - kitchen was roomy and perfect. Beds were comfortable and the shower was fantastic, not to mention the soak I had in the upstairs tub was wonderful. We will 100% be back to this property

WONDERFUL CABIN!
Everything about this lovely cabin was as promised. It's right in the heart of town with shops and restaurants just a minute away. The cabin is very clean with comfortable furniture and the kitchen is well stocked. We didn't use the upstairs but the bed downstairs was heavenly. The fenced yard was perfect for our 2 dogs. We had only one question regarding the tv which Barbara responded to quickly. The front porch is lovely for relaxing. We definitely look forward to staying here again!
