Private, modernized 2bd apt with an eat-in Kitchen, full Bathroom, living area with 65-inch 4K TV and office area, high-speed Wi-Fi internet, private spacious porch and free outside parking on premises. House located close to a train station. Within walking distance to local coffee shops and restaurants. Its location is in a village of Croton on Hudson, 45 min from NYC, along the Hudson River. There are sidewalks on the main streets of the village, so there is no need to get into the car if you wish to enjoy a cup of coffee or an ice-cream cone, closest car rental is just 16 min away by foot if you desire to explore nearby river towns or farms. House is in close proximity to many local restaurants, a supermarket, nature trails and historical sites which makes it an ideal place for a weekend getaway, holidays celebration or business travel. Beautiful landscapes.

The entire 2-bedroom apartment is located on a second floor of a multifamily house with a separate entrance and a spacious porch.

To keep a clean house and keep allergens away, please don’t wear outside shoes indoors as there will be individual slippers provided.
Both bedrooms have a Queen size bed with a tilting, adjustable mattress powered by a remote. A full bath has good water pressure with toiletries and hair tools provided.The larger bedroom has a 50” 4K (UHD) TV with streaming.
A fully-equipped, eat-in kitchen with modern stainless-steel appliances: a large French-door fridge, a dishwasher, a microwave and a gas stove (with a hood). There are pots, pans, dinner ware and small appliances. There is a powerful blender for smoothie lovers and an espresso/cappuccino maker.
There is a 65” 4K (UHD, HDR) TV in the living room coupled with the latest Xbox One X to entertain you during evenings as well as 4k Blu-ray playback. A number of recent 4K UHD Blu-ray films are provided. There is also a ‘Game of Thrones’ monopoly for a classic table top game night and a tic-tac-toe board on the glass coffee table.
For those working remotely, there is fast WiFi, a desk.
Warm evenings are great to spend outside! There is very private veranda with great view and a couple of comfortable chairs to enjoy a book or a good conversation.
There is designated parking provided on the private driveway and there is also additional free street parking.
You will have access to the whole apartment. There is key-less entry with a provided code. There will be fresh towels and toiletries provided in the bathroom. In addition, Black Cow, our local coffee shop, is a 5 min walk. Black Cow has a large variety of different coffee from all around the world and they roast their coffee beans themselves.
Usually I am available to meet and greet all guests. The apartment offers privacy if you prefer but I can also suggest things to do and provide directions to nearby attractions and landmarks as needed.
Although Croton on Hudson is a suburb of New York City, there are some wild animals and birds that you may encounter from time to time. During summer time there are blue jays and other birds living in magnolia trees near the house and on occasion deer and raccoons could be spotted. A beautiful hawk lives nearby and can be seen in the morning as it flies above the house.
Away from industry and pollution, enjoy a breath of clean air and the outdoors. If you go hiking, take note that poison ivy has been spotted in the area and, as always, there are risks of ticks in any woods and tall grass, so dress appropriately. There is abundant information about ticks and tick bites on internet, it is worthwhile to be informed.
Streets in the village are illuminated but driveways tend to be a bit darker. It is noticeably darker at night on the street, compared to a large city like New York, but as an added bonus, you could see stars! Mars’ red dot is easily seen with a naked eye as well as white dots of Jupiter and Saturn. Orion's belt, Ursa Major and Minor, Vega, Polaris and many more to be discovered.

Great getaway in Croton, property was very conveniently located in village near local restaurants etc but also on a quiet street. The apartment was well equipped with everything we needed. Maria was a great communicator and we felt well looked after.

Maria's place was spotless and passed the most important criteria - comfortable beds and good hot water. The location for us was great - walking distance to Croton-on-Hudson village, easy parking. The apartment worked well for our needs but to get up to it there is a flight of stairs that is relatively steep as is common in an older home. Maria was a fabulous host and answered communications quickly.

Our family traveled from LA and Chicago to Croton to meet our new grandchild and felt very lucky to find lodgings in Maria’s 2 bedroom apartment. The accommodations were very clean and featured a fully equipped kitchen including gas stove, microwave, coffeemaker, cutlery, dinnerware and even cooking ingredients (spices, olive oil and pots/pans). The bathroom came with quality toiletry products including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc. We were very comfortable during our 6 night stay. Maria was hospitable and always responded promptly to our emails. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The property also accommodated a parking space for the vehicle we used for sight seeing. We were extremely happy with all the great amenities and will undoubtedly return for future visits.

Enjoyed our stay, and truly appreciated all the curtesy Host provided us from the very beginning. We needed a place to stay like home while our home was being renovated and this suited our small family just fine. It’s a small apartment but a family of four can navigate for short stay. Apt was clean and as described and our host was very communicative and on-site the day we arrived to personally show us the place. Would recommend if you want a quite neighborhood in a sweet local town.

I’m afraid this listing didn’t live up to our expectations, except for the fact that it was in a convenient location From the photos we didn’t expect a rather rustic and spartan interior, but a modern apartment. The television dwarfs everything in the tiny living room, where except for a small chair there is only a large uncomfortable leather couch to sit on. All the overhead lights are glaring and there isn’t enough light otherwise. No lamps and only one bedside table in the main bedroom, for example. The listing promises coffee, water and milk, but there was none, though the host did come over right away with coffee when we contacted her. The kitchen had everything we needed, though we didn’t cook any meals. Also, we did not see the printer mentioned in the listing. The entire apartment smelled and the linens both had a fragrance to them that was off-putting to us.

We were very comfortable at this property. The beds were great and the kitchen was well stocked. Although there was a Keurig in the kitchen, I loved walking to the Black Cow for coffee and a scone every morning. We were visiting family nearby so we didn’t spend much time in the apartment but it was in a great location for us and served our needs. There is off street parking so no worries there. The neighbors were very friendly as well so all and all a pleasant experience.

This clean and comfortable property was perfect for our family. Convenient to West Point and 5 minutes drive to catch the train to NYC, it is very thoughtfully appointed for cooking meals, doing some laundry and enjoying a quiet and restful visit to the area.

Easy to find, excellent parking. You do have to walk upstairs, but it doesn’t bother me because I am an active person. The rooms were clean. The beds were amazing. 11 minutes drive from Harry Potter forbidden

Maria is so accommodating! She makes a point of seeing you in person to make sure everything is ok. My husband and I got Covid when we were suppose to stay and she worked with us to make other arrangements. The apartment is clean, spacious and has everything you need for a pleasant stay. We have stayed in many air b and bs and rented places and this is one of our favorites. Also can’t beat the location or the parking!

the property was conveniently located, short easy drive to the train station. we felt safe. it is an old house, over 100 years old, so there's some creakiness, but that only added to the charm. it was very clean, had all the amenities we needed. we enjoyed it very much. it had all the modern fixtures, coffee maker(standard) and Keurig, free wifi, free netflix. the town was quiet and peaceful, with a number of good, small restaurants and eateries.
the hostess was very friendly and accommodating. very responsive to questions. she is a very nice lady and we enjoyed our chat with her.

We were in the area for a family Halloween excursion and this was in the perfect location. It’s pretty close to everything we wanted to do while on our mini vacation. The apartment was great, very clean and had everything you could want to make it feel like a home away from home. Property owner was very friendly and accommodating. Over all we were very happy with our stay and will definitely come back again if we’re in the area!

We came into town for the Blaze but used the apartment as a home base for our day trips to the Bronx and Manhattan. The apartment is accurately represented in the listing with numerous amenities such as toiletries, games and basic non perishable kitchen items. The flat is very clean, the beds are exceptionally comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet and walkable. The MTA north is minutes away for easy access to Manhattan. The Shop Rite is also close and has a fantastic selection of food. Maria is an accessible and friendly hostess! Don’t miss the sunset on the Hudson while you’re there!

We visited Croton so we could go to The Great Pumpkin Blaze and visit other local attractions, and for the second year in a row we stayed at this charming home just up the road from the downtown area. It is remarkably clean, spacious, and comfortable. Maria is a most gracious host! She’s communicative and willing to offer help or local suggestions if needed. Staying here is an excellent choice if you’re doing anything touristy anywhere near the area. Hotels aren’t all that close and for the price honestly don’t compare to the locally personal and cozy feeling you get staying here. We’ll be back!

My husband and I came in for a 5 day stay. We picked this property from the great reviews and it was close to the sights we wanted to see. Maria is the sweetest and checked in to make sure our stay was the best experience. The property was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We look forward to staying again in the future.

With full kitchen and a bathroom stocked with most anything you may have forgotten, this is a nice alternative to staying in a hotel. Maria is a wonderful host and she communicated with us to make sure we had everything we needed. The super-comfortable bed was our favorite feature in this apartment.

We had a GRAND experience from the introduction to our hosts to our nine night stay. There are stairs but the view of the trees & sky from the porch makes them worth it & are doable.. Maria was great, greeted us upon arrival and walked us through the apartment. The in town location was very convenient for our trip. The off street parking was especially convenient. Being able to have our dogs with us was very important to us as well. The apartment was clean, had two great tv’s. Lots of dvd’s and games were available for us also. The kitchen had all the things you might need to cook your own meals and lots of nice touches like spices, olive oil, coffee, tea, even cereal. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom had lots of toiletries available in case you had forgotten something. It was also very quiet which we really liked. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

I don’t think our stay could have been much better! We needed accommodation for our small family (me, husband + kid), and because we couldn’t find a dog sitter, our two dogs were with us too. It was a luxury having two bedrooms! We also enjoyed being in walking distance of great coffee, ice cream & restaurants. The street can be kind of busy, which was a bit much when walking the dogs, but not a problem otherwise. The apartment itself was very quiet.

She greeted us and spoke with us everyday when we ran into her to check on our stay. The rental is the second floor of an older home. The floors creak, but the place is immaculate. Maria has it decorated very nicely and it is very well stocked! Not only with essentials (paper towels, tp, dishes) but also entertainment (movies, games, things to do around town), and kitchen nice to haves (coffee, creamer, sugar, even some cooking ingredients). The beds are comfortable and the linens are soft and wonderful. AC was great and ran as needed. Shower is small, but again, all toiletries are well stocked (more than expected). Location is wonderful - walking distance to restaurants and ice cream, etc. lots to do. Very safe! We ran out of time to do everything. Would definitely stay again. The only caution is you do have to do a flight of steps to enter the rental, and the cell service outside the rental is terrible. Maria does have great service inside the rental, but our carrier must have a dead spot in that area, without WI-FI we had no reception. Soon after you leave that area it picks back up. Not sure why. Otherwise, highly recommend this place!
