My wife and I enjoyed our two week stay at The Perch with friends and family. The facilities were modern, clean and very functional. Our hosts very specifically outlined area attractions and practical necessities. Their guide also detailed expectations for use of the cottage which made it easy to feel comfortable using the space. We had a very peaceful comfortable stay.

We had an incredible time at the Perch. As we had hoped, we were there on a perfect fall weekend when the leaves were vibrant and out in full form but the weather was warm enough to soak in the sun and spend most of the day outside. The cottage perfectly accommodated 5 adults and we enjoyed making a full thanksgiving feast in the well-stocked kitchen. Getting out on (and in!) the lake was definitely my favorite part of the weekend. David and family were incredibly professional and helpful. They even deck out the table for our thanksgiving feast. Thanks for sharing your cottage with us! We would absolutely love to come back sometime.

We stayed at the Perch for 3 nights in July. The cottage was spotlessly clean and supplied with everything a family could need and more. The owners have thought of every detail. They provided so many little extras that made the stay very pleasurable from the welcome sign at the door, to the complimentary bottle of wine and coffee for the keurig machine, plus so many things for us to use such as games, marshmallow roasting sticks, movies, and more. The kitchen had every utensil and dish you could possibly need. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We were made to feel by the owners that they cared for their cottage and they cared about us as their guests. We were very impressed by their management of the rental. I feel I must include a note about the trek from the cottage to the lake. I did not realize when I booked just how far away the lake and dock were from the cottage and how steep the grade was.. For me, being at the cottage is all about being at the lake for the view as well as swimming and fishing, etc but given the terrain and long hike to and from we rarely went down to the dock and there is not much of a view from the cottage. There are no chairs on the dock, although the owners have made a sitting area with Muskoka chairs and a gas fire pit closer to the shore which was lovely. However, it was not the ideal cottage for fishing, swimming or hanging out at the lake that I am accustomed to. This is in no way a reflection of the owners as it is simply the limitations imposed by the landscape, however I feel compelled to note it for those who also are looking for time at the lake. The cottage itself was lovely, and just as the pictures show. It was exceptionally well maintained and the owners were fabulous. We had a great time! On a side note, we took a day trip into Perth and that was well worth the drive. It is a gorgeous town with historic buildings and lovely shops and restaurants. Overall a great little vacation! Thank you David and Lucy!

This isn't a cottage, it's a home! As soon as you put your stuff away you'll feel like you've lived there forever, because David and Lucy have thought of everything! One of my favourite things was the ladder on the dock. I'm not a big lake kind of person, so the angled ladder with big steps was really nice for me to hang out on! As everyone has said, the stairs are a lot. But we brought a soft cooler that we would fill with drinks, and spend all day at the dock. Send the kids up when you need something! They're young and sprightly lol I absolutely loved it here, and so did my whole family. I recommend the perch 100%.

We had a relaxing week enjoying all the water activities. Thanks so much David & Lucy for sharing your beautiful cottage.

Beautiful cottage off a very beautiful lake. One challenge was the many steps you needed to take to the water...but well worth it when you got to the bottom. It was a mini hike everLake was clean and the temperature and was perfect . It was a mini hike everyday :) The hosts had everything well stocked and also gave us the privilege to use their boats, which we all enjoyed VERY MUCH

This cottage had everything we needed for a family getaway. The cabin was comfortable and stayed surprisingly cool even with the hot weather outside. The kitchen had every utensil a cook would need. The screened in porch was a bonus. The lake was warm and calm, perfect for jumping off the dock, swimming and kayaking. The kids were entertained all week inside and out, with the selection of board games and comic books. Communication from the host was fantastic and the welcome package had all the info we needed.

We returned to the Perch this year having first visited last July, and it felt like home from the moment we pulled up. The owners are so friendly and responsive and have really made the effort to make guest feel welcome in their property. The cottage is super comfortable for relaxing in, very well stocked with everything you could need or want. The lake is absolutely beautiful and great for swimming with a nice deep entry off the dock. Deck chairs by the fire pit are a great place to relax and read, or enjoy the tranquil view. The beds are all new and very comfortable and the fans and small A/C unit keep them cool in hot weather. As there are a lot of stairs down to the lake the property might not be suitable for people with mobility issues - but we would recommend it to anyone else, and would happily rent again in the future! It is really a great "get-away from it all" little piece of heaven.
