A great week with our family…close to all our favorite places in RI.

This is a charming, comfortable cottage with direct access to salt pond waterfront. We enjoyed kayaking and quahogging and the grandchildren had fun crabbing. Definitely bring water shoes! The beach pass allowed us to enjoy the BIG surf at Blue Shutters Beach. A 5 minute drive away is a terrific farm stand/sandwich shop/bakery. Very convenient.

I brought pots, pans, dishes, blankets and pillows from home. When we arrived, I realized that I did not need to as everything was very clean (almost like new). You can not beat the location. We all enjoyed our stay including my 2 year old grandson who loved playing kick ball in the huge yard. The weather could have been better..fishing at West Beach was great for my husband and 13 year old grandson. Loved it… would definitely rent again.

Since my children are all adults, the past three years I book a beach house as their Christmas gift. We could not have been more pleased with the cottage and its location. My boys and grandsons love to fish and boat, this was a perfect location to keep everyone happy. I am originally from Rhode Island and typically would beach in Narragansett. I was impressed with how much Charleston has grown and the convenience of the location. Years ago, that wasn’t the case.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return next summer😊😊😊 5 stars for sure!!!

We stayed here so we could attend a graduation. Location was great and house was even better than online pictures. The outside area is the best feature and we really enjoyed sitting under the gazebo and watching the sunsets.

Nice week enjoying the beach with family. We enjoyed having a nice lawn for yard games.

We loved the Ocean Breeze cottage with everything we needed for a family vacation and celebration of Mothers Day on Quonochontaug Pond in South County. The backyard was great for relaxing and games and easy access down to the pond. Short drive to East Beach and nice kayak across pond to Weekapaug Beach. Enjoyed walks on the nearby National Wildlife Refuges and dinners in both Westerly and Wakefield (Matunuck Oyster Bar was amazing) as well as treats from Quonnie Farms down the road.

The house was as described in the original posting. Everything clean and in order. We used the beach passes. We didn't use the kayaks and the backyard is pretty buggy, so we didn't spend too much time out there. I'd stay there again if I found myself in that area.

We particularly enjoyed being on Quonnie pond as the sunsets were beautiful as well as watching the fishermen going out in the AM. Location it great. Easy to get to the beach with the car or with a bike. Also, not far from grocery stores.

As peaceful as it gets
Beautiful private property close to Blue Shutters. Bring bug spray, once the sun sets the skeeters are out. Couldn’t get enough of the view, so careen. The house was spacious, clean and comfortable. My husband fished from the kayak. We also clammed and made linguini and clams one night. Communication with owner was helpful and friendly. Beach Pass can be used at blue shutters (our fav) or Charlestown beach. Bring your bocce balls, great yard for it! Outdoor shower was a plus. Felt great at the end of a long Beach day. AC unit in living room did a good job of keeping house cool. Fans in bedrooms were used w every night and we were comfortable.

Priceless
This was a week to just hang out and have fun with my adult children and grandkids. It was amazing!! Young families lives are so busy, there never seems to be enough time to just hang out together. We spent our time between the beautiful beaches and the great small coastal towns, parks and great dining spots. We ended almost every evening sitting around the campfire. Just amazing!!! The house was great with four adults and 2 preschoolers, we had more than enough room. I packed way too much. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable.

Perfect for our family of five!
We had a wonderful time in Quonnie! The house is just as shown and VERY clean. Diana and Jen were wonderful hosts helping during our move in process and the beach pass was very convenient. Kayaks were great for getting to and from our boat and the kids had so much fun on the pond. For future renters make sure you bring bug spray as the mosquitos can be vicious - but the view is perfection! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

The location was wonderful. We could not find a better beautiful view. T
The down size the beds did not have sheets or pillow coverage. Wr did not locate sheet until the second morning.. The TV was not properly connected. The paper products were very low. Limited information about attractions in area.

Beautiful spot for Fall weekend
Great location for URI Parent’s weekend with picture-perfect pond view and sunsets. Good size for our 3 adult party.

Perfect for a weekend getaway
Really good location. Enchanting blend of country remoteness and Oceanside charm. Just make sure to bring your own water.

Salt Pond view
Very clean but was not as spacious as we expected. We paid for 9 guests but only 5 of us stayed as it was too confined for us with only one air conditioner. They did supply fans which helped. The kayaks were very, very nice. It would have been easier to get them into and out of the pond if there had been a small dock to use.

Wetland vacation
This property served the purpose. We spent nice days at the beach conveniently located nearby. The house was clean and the appliances available. The rental agreement was clear but seemed uninviting. There were a few simple things that could be included or we could have bee informed to bring them which would have made our stay more comfortable. These include: place mats for outside, clean/new mattress pads( one had a gross stain),shower curtain for the outdoor shower and blinds for the kitchen window.

A little slice oh heaven
First of all, the place is bigger than it appears from the pictures. It was immaculately clean… I mean really clean… everything was in good working order. There were plenty of dishes and glassware. The view is great … so quiet and serene.
Would love to come back next year (if it’s available… it’s listed for sale)

Amazing sunsets
The location of the house is fantastic. Besides the direct access to the pond and spectacular sunsets, the rental comes with access to a really beautiful town beach just minutes away. We also enjoyed all the nature hikes that are just minutes away. The rental had everything we needed including really good WiFi.

Lovely setting. Comfortable house
Perfect spot. Close to beach and hiking wildlife refuge areas. Or just sit in backyard and enjoy magnificent waterfront view and sunset.

Not what we expected
One A/C in living room extremely loud.Unable to open windows in Living room, the handles were removed. Kitchen is stocked with cast offs, not a singe sharp knife or salt. Plastic under the sheets, made for uncomfortable sleeping. The owner came over to fix stove and DID NOT wear a mask. We left a day early. A poor return for our money.

Summer 2020
We had a very relaxing stay in Charlestown. The home has a beautiful view, and was comfortable for two families. The yard was perfect for the kids to play. close to the beach, and near some great fishing spots.

Not Worth Price
My first ever review, so bear with me.
I just didn't think I got the value for the price charged. We rent in RI every year, so I have a good baseline to compare to. This was my 1st time at this property and it wasn't nearly as good as other places we've stayed at.
The Good:
Owners were very nice. Good communication throughout. Very easy to deal with.
The yard and water access was great. Sunsets were spectacular.
The Bad:
-Property was a little old & run down.
-Listed as being air conditioned. And yes there was a window unit in the living room. One window unit. But when sleeping in the master bedroom on the other side of the house, that one AC unit was subpar.
-Says it has an outdoor shower. Technically that's also true. But when you arrive you find that it's only for use to rinse sand off your feet, not to shower in. When one of us did try to use it for an extended rinse off, there was no drainage, so the water all runs off onto the patio & floods the outdoor patio area.
-The grill looks like a $49.99 Joblot clearance item. Tiny and grungy.
-We didn't have much of an issue with this, but as far as privacy: beware that the owners live in the big house adjacent to the rental, with a 2nd story deck that overlooks you in the backyard.
So nice place in general but not as advertised and not nearly as nice as comparably priced beach rentals we've enjoyed.

Enjoyable experience
We were very pleased with this property. We spent most of our time outside on the patio in the backyard, which has stunning water views. The owner was very responsive. The only issue we had was that the life jackets for the kayaks were missing. The owner responded to my message immediately and brought new life jackets in less than an hour. The house is about a mile and a half from the beach, so I recommend renting bikes. We rented from Napatree bikes in Westerly, which conveniently offers drop-off and pickup. Overall, we had a wonderful vacation and would stay at this property again.

Great location, but property needs TLC
Awesome location right in Quonnie on the pond. We loved using kayaks and having access to Blue Shutters beach. However, the house was not very clean. Most dishes and cups needed to be washed before use and we didn’t realize until arrival that we needed to bring our own TP. Overall, a good trip.

Thank You
Thank you, Diana and Jennifer, for allowing us to stay at your summer rental. This was our first time renting a house using VRBO. The house was very clean and well equipped. The evening sunsets were delightful. We used the kayaks a number of times and our grandson had a blast. Traveling to the Blue Shutters Beach was a short 10 minute drive. Having provided a town beach pass made shuttling our family to the beach a hassle-free snap. The only reason that we are choosing not to stay at your house again is a desire to be able to walk directly onto the sea shore beach from the house.

Okay for a quick stay and nice view
We enjoyed the view and backyard but the property wasn’t very clean. There were cob webs, the shower was dirty and there were black hairs on the king bed. The linens that were provided weren’t clean either. The place needs a good scrubbing and better upkeep. The pots and pans all need to be replaced. I was disappointed that they didn’t provide sheets, towels, soap, toilet paper, paper towels or trash bags. Beds were hard. And the portable one is broken so we couldn't use it. Checking in was easy. It’s also hard to find Uber’s in the area. Sunsets were beautiful and the place was ok for a quick stay.

Amazing and private!!
What an amazing property! Our family spent the entire week playing in the huge yard, at the private beach and in the water. Drank our coffee by the water, grilled local seafood dinners, and took the kayaks and a picnic to the island a short distance away. A wonderful property for families - we didn't even need to head to the public beach, everything was right in our backyard! Thanks for an awesome vacation!!

Lovely setting!
This is a small, but comfortable, house on a beautiful salt pond. Two of the bedrooms are roomy; one is smaller. The kitchen and dining room areas are comfortable and well-equipped. The living room is rather small, but opens up onto the backyard and spectacular views of the pond! It would be nice if there were some bikes and beach chairs available as there doesn't seem to be anywhere to rent these nearby. Overall, a very comfortable place to stay.

Great spot for relaxing, summer get-away
We love this spot!! Looks small but spacious and comfortable inside, with all the amenities you need to enjoy your time on the shore. Close to everything - Clamming, bike riding, lunch at Matunuck Oyster House and the Andrea and be sure to check out the Galapagos Boutique!! This is our second stay and this is truly a gem. We'll be back!!

Fantastic Weekend!
This house is perfect for a max of 8 people! There is only 1 bathroom but even with 3 teenage girls, this was not an issue for us! The house was perfect size, beds were comfortable and roll away twin bed fits in one of the bedrooms so all 3 kids could sleep in 1 room. We brought our own bed sheets and towels. The house had everything we needed for cooking breakfast and late night snacks. We ate out during the days. The views were breathtaking and the owners were so easy to work with. We will definitely stay here again. The price, location and the amenities were perfect.

Very basic house but lovely setting
Overall our group was disappointed with the quality of the beds and the lack of basic house supplies. Per the house listing, we brought all of the necessary bath towels, beach towels and bedsheets, but arrived to find no bathmat, no hand towels, and insufficient toilet paper for our 2-night stay. The beds were also unsupportive and uncomfortable.
Separately, we were not warned ahead of time that a repair crew would be fixing the back doors in the living room when we arrived, which left strong off-gassing/chemical odors in the main living space for the rest of the day. This was particularly unpleasant for the two people staying on the sofa bed in that room. We understand the repair was delayed, but a heads up that a few people would be working in the house for the first 2 hours of our short stay would have been appreciated.
It's a very beautiful setting by the water, but we wouldn't choose to return.

Beautiful Location
Rental was on beautiful Quonnie Pond. Location was private and quiet. Beds were comfortable. Blankets could have been of a better quality. Kitchen was well equipped but cabinets could have been cleaned and unusable items removed. Frustrating not to have enough space to put your food. There is a great pantry closet in the kitchen but needed to be completely emptied. The gas grill was falling apart with rusty grill grates and very little gas. If felt like with a little updating and attention to detail the rental would have felt worth the price.
