Ethel & Ode's is located in Bundeena - a unique beach side town located within the Royal National Park. Just under one hour from Sydney CBD by car, there is also a train from Central Station to Cronulla (1hr travel time) and an hourly ferry that goes from Cronulla to Bundeena (20 minute journey). Please note that if you are staying in Bundeena you are exempt from paying the National Park visitor's fee when you enter into the Royal National Park. There is no direct public transport in/around Bundeena but everything is within walking distance.
We take climate change seriously and try to lighten our load on the earth at Bundeena. The Bunkie has green kitchen bags that are compostable and we welcome you filling them with raw fruit and vegetables, coffee (our pods are compostable), tea leaves, along with brown matter such as nut shells, tea bags, dead leaves, small twigs, hay, straw, wood chips, cardboard, newspaper, and cotton rags. Never place cooked food, dairy products, meat, fish bones, or fat in our compost bin, as these substances produce odors that can lure pests. Other food waste can be placed in the council red bin. We also encourage you not to bring single use plastic water bottles on site as we have refillable water bottles for your use while you stay.
Our bathrooms run on pumps and connect to septic. Our toilet paper is recycled bamboo and is the only products the septic can take. Disposal of anything else such as sanitary products, makeup or baby wipes may cause blockage which will impact your stay and necessitate expensive repairs for which guests will be charged.
Our team attend the property from time to time to attend bins and garden maintenance. They will say hello if they see you but will absolutely respect your privacy.
If you have dogs that need their own holiday; while we cannot accommodate them, we recommend Hanrob Pet Hotel in Heathcote which is only a short diversion on your way to Ethel & Ode's.

Our family’s stay at Bundeena was amazing, and a lot of that was due to this beautiful property. The location and views of the beach were unbeatable. The house was extremely clean and had everything we needed. Catherine was extremely helpful and made the whole process very easy. Definitely will be looking to stay here again for the next family getaway!

Our adult family stayed at the Big House to attend our daughter's wedding at nearby Audley; we walked in and immediately relaxed. The view was incredible, even better than the photos.
The rooms are all beautifully furnished, and bathrooms are spectacular. So much space and light and all you would need for a peaceful getaway.
We loved it and did not want to leave!
Thank you, we will be back.

Absolutely breathtaking view from the house. We knew it would be beautiful, but didn’t expect it to be THAT beautiful. House was very clean and had everything we needed for an amazing time. The beach is in very close proximity. The grounds were very well maintained. It was a gorgeous house.
As far as location, there are a few small places for food in town and a grocery store within walking distance. The ferry to Cronulla is close by for day trips. Bundeena is about 30 minutes from any major commercial areas, but that was a plus for us.
Overall we had an amazing time. Very relaxing.

Property was spectacular, so clean and well presented and a lovely property host. Position was perfect and the view was absolutely stunning, felt like we were in the Mediterranean with calm clean waters at our doorstep. Dolphins, sailing boats, rowers all on view. Couldn’t wish for a better experience.

We stayed in the Big House and it was the perfect property for our family (6 adults and 3 children). the house had everything we needed and the view over the water was spectacular. A short walk into town and to the wharf/main beach was convenient and Jibbon Beach a short stroll away.
We were able to access the property before regular check in time and communication with Catherine was prompt.

From the living room and balcony, we could see the entire bay and within 5 minutes walk was Jibon beach. Both the house and garden were very well designed and maintained. We did not feel a need to go out.

Fabulous - so relaxing
The location and outlook is superb. Dawn and dusk are particularly magic. You are four houses from Jibbon Beach and The Coast Track. The house is very well equiped and the decoration is beachy chic.

From the moment of entering the property we knew this was a special place. Stunning views, exceptional styling in rooms, yet comfortable and immediately relaxing. So many wows.Any questions we had prior to arrival were answered promptly by the owner, who was a delight to deal with. The home has everything you need to entertain, with a well stocked kitchen, lots of serving plates, good quality cookware, crockery etc. Lots of comfortable places to relax both indoor and out.The pathway to the house has a slight slope, which is completely manageable, however for the very young or slightly older should be taken slowly especially if wet. Regardless take your time to enjoy the garden and it’s serenity before you enter. The beach is accessed by the shortest walk from the property and is a beautiful spot to swim, paddle or stroll the shore line on fabulous walks. If you need to relax, have family gatherings or special times with friends, choose Ethel & Ode’s in Bundeena.

Perfection
We stayed here with our best friends over our wedding weekend and absolutely loved it. Hosts were great as they allowed us to host a welcome bbq for 30 family / friends. Beautiful setting, will definitely be back. Only criticism is that we had to follow-up the day before to get the check-in into.

Great location & relaxed beach house
Need to buy some quality wine glasses, plus the installation of FOX TV for sports mad people like me is a necessity whilst relaxing on holidays in high end rental. Also concrete pathway was unsafe for elderly parents. Need to install a ramp &/or re review surface
