Everything was great! Response times from host were fast. Gift shop worker and tour guides were very polite and better than the other homes we had visited!

Greatly enjoyed staying at the Destrehan Plantation. As a history major, this place hit home with past history of pain and suffering within a tranquil setting.

The cottage was perfect for one or two people. I just stayed one night but it was all I needed. The tour of the house was amazing! Ann was the best tour guide. Nice to have a discount tour ticket with the cottage. Very lovely stay.

We really loved our stay here. We also took the tour of the plantation and Emma our guide was great. Love this place.

The site was very nice, and we had the opportunity to visit the outdoors museum and have a guide tour the next morning before leaving .
The cabin was clean, cute, and very county- stile, but it was a pity that the furniture may not be moved, so we could not eat comfortably in the table. On the other hand, I recommend the property owners to update the pictures on the website or to paint the cabin's outsides to look better.

Cozy Home Away From HoE
We loved our stay at this little cottage! Learning it’s history was quite interesting! From the outside it looked so tiny but the space inside was more than ample! The bed was very comfortable and fridge came in handy for water. We could not have asked for a better place to stay during our trip. We enjoyed our tour of the plantation and walking the grounds. Walking the levy is enjoyable as well. I agree with a previous reviewer some rocking chairs on the porch would be lovely. Close drive to New Orleans. Recommend taking HWY 61 or 48 vs the interstate. You drive slower on the highways but with the stress and traffic of the interstate it takes the same amount of time. Property owner was very quick to get back to us with any information. Overall we HIGHLY this place to couples coming to the area.

Cozy Cottage
We were visiting to do work on area homes after Hurricane Ida. We wanted a quiet place to relax and rest. The cottage was perfect. The only thing missing were a couple of chairs on the porch. Sitting outside in the evening and enjoying the beautiful trees, listening to the frogs and watching the sunset was our favorite part of the day.

A Wonderful Experience
We loved the Margarite cabin on Destrahan Plantation. It is rustic, but very comfortable and the setting is fabulous. We spent hours on the tour and exploring all of the buildings that have been preserved as part of this historic site.

We very much enjoyed our stay! Spacious, clean, comfortable cabin; nice property; and very close to the airport, as well as some good restaurants. Good value.

Cute cozy cottage
This is the cutest little cottage. Is welcoming and relaxing. Everything we hoped it would be. I guess the only issue was that there was a small leak or some type of minor plumbing issue under the bathtub. As a homeowner myself I worried about it but never got a chance to tell the manager. The managers communicated with us and gave detailed instructions on everything from check in to local restaurants. At 10 am it is an early check out but you can request a later check out. Also rental comes with a reduced rate of the plantation tour which I highly recommend. Overall I would definitely tell my friends about this place!!

Marguerite Cottage did not disappoint.
We loved our stay in the Marguerite cottage. The cottage was nicely decorated and had everything we needed. The Destrahan Plantation was beautiful with so much history. Our tour guide “Rose” was very informative and the house was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We so enjoyed our stay and would love to come back.

Great for Locals
Wonderful place and great to work with. The place was amazing and honoring the “plantation” style with a lot of wood decor.
The Destrehan plantation was a wonderful place to stay. I only wish we had more time. Being local, we will certainly return.

Great staff
This place was amazing. Even though tours were shut down due to the virus, they arranged a private tour for us along with 2 other young ladies. The Plantation is beautiful, the cottage was amazing. The tub was awesome and the robes they provide were to die for.

Beautiful stay at this historic cottage
We loved this cottage, the beautiful setting with the oak trees and spanish moss and the proximity to everything we needed was only a couple minutes drive. The cottage looks much smaller from the outside than it is inside. Lots of room and wonderful decor. Thanks so much for the hospitality!

History abounds
Beautiful artsy cabin. Hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The local historic society has done a great job reviving the plantation. Take the guided tour it's informative and very professionally conducted. There are original Louisiana Purchase documents signed by Thomas Jefferson on display. If you have an opportunity to spend the day here, do so, you won't be disappointed.

Charming, unique stay
Very cute and charming property, loved the rustic feel. The decor (antique) was wonderful, it felt truly nostalgic. The outside could use some fresh paint... it has seemingly faded some since the picture was posted to the VRBO website. It was clean inside, and the bed was super comfortable, but we did see a couple of cockroaches and lizards inside to cottage (to be expected for a property that old). Check-in was extremely easy, the location was great, enjoyed touring the plantation the next day. I would definitely recommend this cool “adventure” and staying at this particular cottage!
