About this cabin rental
The Couple's Cabin is a sweet log 'post & beam' construction in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Open all year long, this couple’s hideaway is tucked in behind the main house with the front door opening onto US Forest Service land. Total privacy and beautiful scenery. Because of the large windows in the living room & kitchen area you will feel as if you were outside - even when you are inside. Deer on the hillside and in the backyard are a common sight.
This cabin was the “home show display model” for a local log home builder thus everything is top of the line – cozy and comfortable. The large side-by-side refrigerator/freezer will accommodate food for as long as you choose to stay. You have a fully equipped kitchen with dishes, pots & pans, coffeemaker, microwave, crock-pot, toaster, blender, dishwasher & stove and a gas BBQ grill, small fire pit and table & chairs right outside your front door. The night sky is star studded and brilliant. Lovely!
All linens and towels are provided. Very Comfortable King size bed. The bathroom has a large shower with LOTS of hot water. This will be your retreat after a busy day of sightseeing in the hills. Ideal location just a mile from Hill City, SD – The Heart of the Hills – turn off of Hwy 16/385 onto Village Court into the Storm Mountain Cottages continue across Spring Creek to the private property behind. This is where you will find your Black Hills nest AND life is good!
During season the rate is $129.00 per night; stay six consecutive nights and the seventh night is FREE. Season is Memorial Day through September. A three night minimum stay is strongly encouraged. First two weeks in August 2018 the cabin is rented by the week only - in honor of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Winter Season rate is $99.00 per night. Fall & Spring Season $109.00 per night. We do charge a $60.00 cleaning fee per stay. You can be assured of a absolutely clean home when you arrive. Your reservation deposit is ½ of your stay with the balance due 30 days prior to arrival. There is a required rental agreement with a security deposit of $500.00 secured with a major credit card. If cabin is left in the same condition as when you arrive, the damage deposit will not be charged . If warranted due to damage or extra cleaning an itemized statement will be mailed to you along with the credit card charge for the repairs.
Cancellation Policy: Re-scheduling your stay is always permissible without loss of deposit monies. Cancellations made 31 or more days prior to arrival will receive a full refund of the deposit. If cancelled within 30 days of arrival the initial deposit will be forfeited. Partial deposit may be refunded if the property is re-rented. There will be NO refunds for no-shows, late arrivals, or early departures.

Love the log cabin feel. Close enough to conveniences. Within short drive to attractions. Cabin was a home away from home. Clean and well stocked with necessities.

We spent four nights in the Couples Cabin. Overall, our stay was pleasant. The cabin was cozy, clean, quiet, and well equipped. We made good use of the kitchen, which was well stocked. The location was perfect for exploring the area – we visited Mount Rushmore, explored Custer State Park, rented electric bikes and drove the Spearfish Scenic Byway.
However, the WiFi in our cabin did not work properly. The internet connection ranged from unable to bring up a web page, to taking 1-2 mins to partially load a simple web page. Annie tried to reset the Linksys range extender in our cabin but it had no effect. I had to drive to a local cafe to connect and do my work. WiFi in the local businesses worked just fine, but nothing usable in our cabin.

Couples Cabin is a beautiful, clean, private, peaceful cabin. We were very fortunate to have found this place to stay. Pretty much everything was provided in the cabin kitchen was stocked very well with all that you would need to cook a meal. Lots of extra bathroom towels & the bed was very comfortable.
If you can’t find something to watch on TV they have a huge selection of DVD’S . Chipmunks in the window in the kitchen are quite entertaining

The Black Hills Sanctuary - Couples Cabin provided a very quiet, comfortable and convenient place to stay during our first trip to the Black Hills, as it provided easy access to Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park and other area attractions. We enjoyed having a couple of meals at the outdoor bistro table, and it was nice having access to a grill. The kitchen was well equipped for those that like to cook, including several spices that we enjoyed trying. We saw deer on several occasions, and having the bird feeders to observe outside the kitchen window was nice. While the cabin interior is not overly spacious, and there were a few nuances from being on a well and septic system, those were minor inconveniences at best. And the king-sized bed was very comfortable. We'd highly recommend this cabin as a place to stay in the heart of the Black Hills.

the cabin was very nice sized for the two of us to stay in. its not huge but still has plenty of room to have the feeling more of a home setting than a hotel. it was excellent for a 'Just Us' weekend!!!

We enjoyed staying here except three wasps somehow got into the cabin, about one per day. That became too much to deal with, despite Annie (the host) bringing us some wasp spray, so we left after three of our five nights. Annie refunded two nights. The cabin is great and Annie is great; it's unfortunate that wasps ruined our stay.

The cabin was very nice. The only issue we had was with our mobility issues. Some of the accommodations were not as accessible as we would have liked. This was all on me though as I did not thoroughly check things out. We loved the location and the cabin was very clean and decorated so cute. It was very homey.

The "Couples Cabin" was perfect for our little get-away. It was quaint & cozy, and the perfect location if you want to be right in the Black Hills and close to so many great tourist spots. Despite the snowfall, we enjoyed hiking in the surrounding area and coming back to our cozy cabin. It had all of the amenities that you would need - it felt like our home away from home. We highly recommend it!
