This house is clean, even the tops of the baseboards and enclosed front porch. The kitchen is well stocked and there are plenty of towels. It is walking distance to the market, churches, coffee shop, and ice cream shop. I was more comfortable here than any short-term rental I have used. The owner offered to stop by as we checked in and was a great guy. We stayed for a long weekend.

The house was immaculate, had everything we needed and the location was perfect for attending the Rock Hall Triathlon. Rick was easily reachable and even stopped by in person to welcome us. He was very flexible with check in and check out times around the race. Highly recommend.

Wonderful home, walk to coffee shop and ice cream
This home was ideally situated within walking distance of a coffee shop, ice cream, a small but well stocked market, and a fresh produce/deli store. Walk to restaurants as well. The home was well maintained and clean. Communication with the owner was easy. One full bath upstairs and one full bath off the kitchen. Would definitely rent again.

Perfect Weekend Getaway
House and location was perfect for a long weekend in Rock Hall. House has been nicely updated, super clean, super comfortable, and stocked with everything you could possibly need. Best of all you can park your car and walk to the harbor restaurants as well as coffee and ice cream shops on the main drag. It was especially nice for 4th of July fireworks because the best view in town is just a short stroll away down the street.

Rock Hall rocks!
Marked by the mermaid on the rock, the house on Sharp Street was clean, well furnished, and well equipped. The ice maker needs attention but all other gadgets worked. Loved that 4-slot toaster. We spent a happy August here.
Since the house may or may not be available again thru VRBO, let’s concentrate on Rock Hall, a charming old middle class town surrounded on all sides by impressive yachts. Everything is in walking distance from Sharp Street - including one’s favorite boat - but the accoutrements of daily life were most easily and generously available. Start Fresh, for amazing fruit, vegetables, bread, and other goodies: 2 blocks away. Bayside Foods, with its dazzling mural and endless supplies: 3 blocks away. And closest of all, Java Rock, a terrific coffee (and wine by the bottle), bun, and sandwich shop with outdoor tables in the shade filled with the kind of customers who give Rock Hall its welcome - and honest! - slogan: “Nice people live here.”
A bit further are restaurants with a range of price points. We went to Osprey Point for a birthday, Watermen’s Crab Shack for a farewell, and Ford’s Seafood for supper when we had been too busy to cook. Every Saturday morning found us 10 short miles away at the Chestertown Farm Market with alluring side-street dashes to the Natural Foods Store or, oh dear, Evergrain Bakery. Croissants to die for….
Whether or not you can enjoy Rick’s Sharp Street house, give Rock Hall a good look. You do not need a yacht.

Incredible!!
Love the house! It was way better than expected, even though it looked great online. It was way bigger than we thought and loved the grill in the back. And you seriously can’t bet the location. So close to everything in town.

Fun, relaxing stay in Rock Hall
We had a lovely time in Rock Hall. There was enough room for all seven of us with no crowding. Backyard was perfect for us with gas grill and picnic tables. Rick and Patty were very helpful. Thank you for a successful first vacation since the pandemic hit. We recommend this beautiful house and location highly!

Great place to watch the race!
We rented so I could participate in the triathlon. It’s right on the race route and just down the street from the race beginning/ end/ & transition area. The house has a cute charm and the kids loved it.

A nice home in lovely Rock Hall MD
We enjoyed our stay at this house in Rock Hall. It is a charming place. Even though it rained (on and off) for two of the three days we were there, it was an enjoyable stay. The house is minutes away from the bay and a 15 min drive from Eastern Neck island. Rick and Patty are very helpful, with prompt communication and attention to detail.

Yearly father/son outing
This was our third stay in a property owned by Rick Kessinger, once in another property and twice in this one. It is spacious, clean, and within walking distance of anything needed. He came over to greet us personally this time for we never had met. He obviously cares about his visitors and takes pride in this property.

Excellent, Clean, Spacious, and Idyllic
This property takes hygiene seriously. There is Lysol cleaner in every bathroom, the kitchen, and entryway. The bedding was freshly laundered. The mattresses were excellent - not the springy kind you get at some vacation homes. The kitchen even had spices and seasonings available and some starter oil. They have a crockpot, a toaster, two types of coffee machines, and even give you paper towels and toilet paper. They don’t pinch pennies. The house is great for remote work with internet fast enough to support up to three virtual meetings at a time. The town has a cute market and grocery shop and coffee shop on the corner. One marina is 10 minute walk away, and the other is a 30 minute walk. There is also a small beach nearby. Only minutes by car. Everyone waves to you. There are several cute shops in town as well. Plenty of parking in the driveway. Cute farms and hikes nearby for young kids. Lastly, the house is spacious. You don’t feel like you are stepping on each other’s toes but there are large enough areas to all hang out with each other. The property owner clearly cares about this home.

Great Location!
The house was very nicely located for us to walk to the main street (one block away). We brought skateboards and scooters for the kids and teens to get around. They really enjoyed Civic park that was only a few blocks away. Ferry Park was a short drive as well. We were able to walk to the grocery store to get items we needed and to the coffee shop on the corner. It was nice not having to drive everywhere. The house was very nice, clean, and included the linens, and pantry items. The owner was nice and easy to work with.

Rock Hall Rocks
Perfect comfortable house for our family of 4 adults & 2 teenagers. We enjoyed the Harry Potter Festival, tour inside historic homes in Chesterton, great food a short walk away at the Waterman’s Crab House watching the sunset from the deck, & coffee shop a short walk away.
The house was well-equipped with a comfortable living room, a lovely porch for relaxing, grill & tables on patio, washer/dryer, well equipped kitchen. Thoughtfully furnished. Would enjoy returning there.

Very Accommodating for Large Groups
Nine of us were on the Eastern Shore for my son’s graduation from Washington College in Chestertown, MD. Rick’s home was very accommodating for all of us. We were there for three nights and it was spacious enough that we all had our own space. Thank you Rick and Patty!

Ideal spot in Rock Hall
We found that the Mermaid House on Sharp Street met all our needs and than some. Tastefully decorated, clean and accessiable to all in Rock Hall. We attended a wedding at the Osprey Inn so we found it very convenient. We would definitely rent again although the men missed ESPN and the GOLF channel. The owner was very pleasant to deal with. Definite wonderful place to stay.

Our family enjoyed the amenities of the house and property. The back has 2 long tables under umbrella and a nice grill and room for our 2 year old granddaughter's small pool. The third floor was a nice bonus for our family with the little ones. We will rent here again.

Family getaway over Memorial Holiday Weekend 2018
We had a wonderful and relaxing time in Rock Hall at this vacation rental. Our group included 7 adults and an small toddler staying 4 nights.
The home was spacious, clean and bright. We absolutely loved the screened front porch for morning coffee and a great place for our granddaughter to play and keep her toys. The backyard was fenced with a nice patio and had a great grill for grilling. What a great central location! It was in walking distance to the town center, a playground across the street for our granddaughter to play safely and the beach was a five minute drive. Patsy was very welcoming and helpful making our stay easy. The home was well stocked of supplies and kitchen necessities. Bring your bikes!! We rode all over town. We want to come again and will definitely call Rick to stay in his home!

Small Town Charm
Will start of by saying renting from Rick is a pleasure, when our first request fell through he was happy to offer 2 different options. This is our 2nd time renting for him and he makes things very easy. Was great to meet him to this time. The property manager Patsy is a sweetheart she helps with any questions or issues that come up, offers recommendations for places to check out. The house was great, loved the historic details from door knobs to the old wall safe. Very short walk to Main st and the local coffee shop. Was surprised with all the wildlife in the back yard (seeing how it's in town), from deer to turkey. Great to watch from the back patio. Area is quiet has the small town neighborhood sounds (elementary school, church bells and fire horn) but it isn't even noticeable after the 1st day. Only had 1 issue with vcr and Patsy was happy do anything to get it taken care of right away. I do recommend bringing your own dvds or renting from local grocery store, cable did not give a variety of channels.
During your stay to take the short drive to Ferry Park Beach to watch the sunset, sail boats and just take in the view. A MUST area to visit is only a short drive to Chestertown great historical area.
We miss the area already hope to be back again . Thanks again to Rick and Patsy .
