This was our 2nd stay at Al’s property. Awesome location, beach right across the street. Easy walk downtown to all the restaurants, shopping, bars. Great tropical pool in the back yard. This house is huge with plenty of room to spread with friends and family. Al is an awesome host and is always a phone call or text away.

We were a group of 4 old friends on a week-long beach getaway. The location of the house was excellent, just steps from the beach, and within walking distance of the town, shops, and restaurants. Al, the host, provided lots of great advice and checked in with us several times during our stay. The house was comfortable and well stocked with supplies (paper products, laundry and cleaning supplies, beach chairs and towels, etc.). The nicely laid out kitchen was very large allowing the four of us to cook together. We enjoyed our stay.

The house was very musty smelling when we first walked in and didn’t seem clean.First day we had cockroaches owner sent neighbor over with a can of raid, second day sewer blew out a brick on the pool deck and we had fecal, toilet paper and urine gushing out of the hole and flowing into the pool. He told us a plumber would be out the next day. At that point we packed our bags and left. It was unhealthy to stay, we only had a week with our kids and grandkids. Everything was cluttered! Rooms, closets, garage. No place to put your clothing, no place to put bath items. Pictures were not honest. The outside was un kept. Extension cords and cable wires all over outside and garage. Did not feel safe.

If you want a beautiful home to stay in with a beautiful pool that just so happens to be across the street to a beautiful no crowd beach that offers the most spectacular sunsets this is the place to be.
This was the most wonderful family vacation and I would stay here tomorrow, actually the home is so beautiful I could live there.
Plus it's not to far from Disney which allowed my granddaughter to finally meet all her princess, Toy Story characters.
Now were there a couple problems with the house yes but every home owner can sympathize and Al had it taken care of immediately.
Speaking of our host Al he was very attentive and caring about our needs to ensure we had the best vacation. Thank you again Al.
So if you want a beautiful home to stay in while at a beautiful beach this is the place for you.

Loved this older spacious home with pool! Within comfortable walking distance to restaurants, Marina and Pier 60. Beautiful beach, shells, blue water, and stunning sunsets! Communication with the owner was always a pleasure. What a fabulous vacation!!

The property is at a great location, the beach is across the street and all the restaurants, icecream shops and the pier are in walking distance. The pool are and house layout are very nice. With some decluttering this would be a great rental. Al was very accommodating with check in and check out times.

The exterior of the house needs some TLC but the inside was extremely clean and comfortable.
Great location across the street from a beautiful , not crowded beach.
Pool was great.
My grandchildreen,10,8 and 22 months loved the beach.
The house provides all beach equipment needed (umbrella, chairs ,boogie boards, sand toys, coolers, etc ).
The host ,Al, was not in state but extremely accommodating.
Had trouble with one of the air conditioners .
He had a repairman there within a few hours.

Al is a great host and very accommodating! The house is a great size and layout for a large family like ours. Location is also great and away from the hustle and bustle near the pier but easy to get down there if you want. Thanks Al!

We really enjoyed our stay at El Dorado by the Sea! You can’t beat the close access to the beach, and the pool is lovely. I would describe the overall vibe as eclectic. We would stay there again!

Al was a wonderful and an accomodating host! The home was perfect for our needs - 5 adults and 2 young children. We enjoyed the home layout, pool and private area of the Beach just steps away across the street. Thank you Al for helping to make our family reunion and stay so memorable!

Overall experience was great. Location was excellent. Having a private pool was a definite bonus and beach access was just across the street. Cleanliness of bathtubs could have been better. Communication with host was very good. As some other reviews have indicated, it was difficult for our group to all hang out in one room together due to furniture arrangements. But overall a good experience & all had a great time!

Great place for family vacation getaway. Beach is literally across the street less than 1/2 block and the pool is an added bonus. Thanks Al for your hospitality.

Best feature was the location and beach access.
We walked into the shopping/restaurant area multiple time but it took a little longer than I thought. More like 20 minutes.
The pool was good and we used every day usually after the beach.
The house could use some updating but it was more aesthetics than functionally. All necessary kitchen utensils were provided as well as the use of the charcoal grills.
We would stay there again.

The pool and patio and the proximity of the beach made this property the ideal vacation home for my daughters, their husbands, my three grand children, ages 2 months, 10 months and 3 years, my husband and me.

Wonderful owner and great place to stage trips to the beach. The pool is fabulous.

Modern conveniences in a 1940’s architecture, all steps away from a sandy shoreline or the pool. Plenty of space for family gatherings and room to spread out for different activities. Couldn’t have fit our needs better.

Proximity to beach is great. A short walk across a quiet suburban street. Pool was a fantastic relief after a hot day on the beach. Only negative is it is a 4 bedroom home with seating in living room area limited to 4 maybe 5 and no TV. The TV with a cable hookup is in family room with a single couch. There were 8 of us but we made it work. The owner should consider adding additional seating in living room with a cable functioning TV. Only other comment is the owner should include a comprehensive list of amenities provided. Local Publix can be a challenge to get to. Overall very happy with stay and would stay stet there again.

We visited a lot of beaches in the area, but this was the least crowded. I guess because they don’t have any public parking in the area, unlike the residential end of Pass a Grille.
If you consider a space the size of a football field, this beach (which is literally steps away), in May, has about 2 other families during the week or evenings/mornings, and 8 other families midday on weekends. Versus rows of people at the other beaches!
And all the beaches we visited looked basically the same: clear blue water, sugar sand, shells. So, def recommend staying here for the peacefulness.
I did the 25 minute walk up the beach to Caladesi, and it didn’t get any less crowded further up the residential end. But it’s deserted once you get to Caladesi - pretty cool on a weekend!
Anyway, the house is fully functional, and surprisingly spacious, but the pool is the gem of the place! Gorgeous landscaping and, even in 80 degree weather, it wasn’t too cold... I guess with all the sun. Also, the sunroom looks out on all the pretty landscaping and has windows that open to a nice breeze and ended up being our fav place to hang out.
My only recommendation is to have groceries delivered or pick them up on the way in, because we underestimated the traffic and parking on the island, and it’s kind of a pain getting food last minute. But lots of places have outdoor seating, and you can walk or ride the Jolley Trolley (pick up is a block away) if you wanna enjoy the fun local scene.

Location, location, location. Enjoyed the pool after a day at the beach.. The house was spacious. The owner was easy to contact, as a matter of fact he was at the house for a few hours 4 of the days we were there and is quite knowledgeable of the area. Look for the picture on top of the secretary by the front door to see what the old beach line was. The inside architecture had all of the folks commenting on how nice it was. One oddity was that we had to wash our own towels(beach and bath) before we left. I would recommend staying at the house, just for the neighborhood, pool, secluded backyard and location. Thanks Al!

We were looking for a family getaway— our first since the pandemic. We love quiet, but also fabulous food and great adventures. El Dorado by the Sea offered us all this and more. The location was perfect. It was in a quiet neighborhood with private beach access right across the street, and also a 12 minute walk from all that Clearwater Beach had to offer. We made a trip to Orlando, visited Winter at the Aquarium and had a great margarita by Bryant at one of the local bars.Don’t miss Clear Sky for drink & dinner or Frenchy’s beachfront location.Al was a gracious host — great communication and a friendly resource. The home is an Old World gem. If you value a well-built structure with original details (like Rookwood tile) and woodwork detail, this is your place. Antiques abound. We loved it!

The house was perfect! Centrally locate to everywhere, grocery store, restaurants, Clearwater Aquarium and most importantly the beach! Literally across the street. The house had everything we needed to spend a week vacation with the family. Would love to stay again in the future! Thank you Al for trusting us with your house.

We were all very impressed with everything this home has to offer. The location is perfect and just a 2 minute walk to the quiet North end of Clearwater beach, yet an easy walk to the pier for fishing and the busy shops and restaurants. The home itself is full of charm and has all the comforts you would need. The pool in the private backyard was awesome. We had our 4 adult boys with us and there was plenty of room for all of us. This would be a great place to share with 2 families. We would highly recommend this home and fully intend on returning again next year. Thank you Al for being such a pleasure to deal with.

This is the perfect location if you want privacy and a quiet location. And it is right across the street from the beach and a short walking or driving distance to downtown Clearwater, or all the restaurants and activities on the beach. The photos are true to the description of the house, all is as it is shown. We were 5 adults and had more than ample room with own bedrooms and living space. Will definitely stay here again someday. Thanks to Al , who was most accommodating and checked on us a few times throughout the week to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a holiday in Clearwater beach.

This is the second time we have stayed at this house. We find the old fashion moldings & built-ins charming. The house is large with plenty of bathrooms for two families. Cannot beat the closeness to the private beach & beautiful pool on the property! Al called & checked on us several times. Wi-fi & cell phone services were difficult for my non-stop working husband, but would definitely rent again & recommend to others.

This property was great! 1/2 block to beach... Lovely private pool! Great tropical fruit growing all over the yard ( mango, bananas, avocado, key lime...). Our family of five enjoyed this rental very much. The house is very spacious... Each of our kids had their own room and privacy. The bedding was above average and there were plenty of towels for both the bath as well as the pool/ beach. The house is maintained fairly well. The bathrooms have a nostalgic feel with the sinks reminding us of some of our family's old homes built in the 1930's... It was great! The are four beach chairs and two umbrellas for beach use ( however, the umbrellas are not of great size or quality, FYI) . In addition, there are some basic beach toys for use. We felt that the price was fair, given the size, location and pool... Yet, the house will likely need some upgrades in the near future (some kitchen upgrades, new carpet, and some exterior wood work). We spent most of our time divided between the beach, pool and CMA. Of note - a couple of the highlights of the area include - the Scrumptious cookie, the ice and cream creamery, and pier 60... Not to mention CMA... Two of our kids were attending a summer camp at CMA (Home of Winter) and loved every minute of it! The neighborhoods around the house are very quiet... I enjoyed running in the area and a couple of us enjoyed renting bikes and touring. Our entire family enjoyed a kayak tour from CMA which allowed us to see the island from a different perspective while enjoying the breeze and water. Overall, nice house, great pool and beach, quiet neighborhood, plenty to do, easy to avoid the crowds of the hotel section of the island... We plan to rent again! The kids said it was " the best vacation ever!"

Al welcomed us and was very friendly and helpful. The house has a great location just few steps from the fantastic beach ideal for swimming and shelling. We were 2 families and the small children loved the pool area and stayed there for hours every day. We would love to come back for a stay another time. This is a tropical-like climate, so you need to tolerate small bugs and funny gekkos, If not, stay in a Hotel. Greetings from two happy Norwegian families!

This place is a disaster very nasty there are bugs and inspect droppings everywhere windows cracked there is paint peeling everywhere call to talk to the renter he is very rude said it was our problem this place would probably not even pass a up to date inspection

The location of this house was ideal because of its close proximity to the ocean and within a short walk to the downtown amenities. There weren't a lot of vehicles because of the residential nature of the house. A shuttle service ran all day and we could hop on or off all the way from Clearwater Beach to St. Pete's Beach. The owner was diligent in returning phone calls to answer all our questions. The property was clean and very spacious for 4 adult couples. We would return again.

I booked this 4 bdrm, 3 bath house for my family to celebrate my parent's 40th wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. The best thing about this house is its location. Just across the street from the Gulf of Mexico. The 4 bedrooms were perfect because my wife and I shared one, our 3 yr old daughter had one, my sister and her husband shared another and my mom & dad had one too. Really nice to have so many bathrooms so nobody is in a morning rush. There is also a bathroom in the laundry room adjoining to the garage, which is close to the sliding door going to the pool, so that was extremely convenient. Every room also had a TV.
We picked 7 ripe mangoes from a tree next to the pool, which is a treat we cannot grow in Northern California. The pool is very private and we enjoyed it every day. It's extremely refreshing after swimming in the salty ocean water. The house has a sun room to relax in and have coffee in the morning. Check out the retro square ceiling in that room--tres chic!! Garage has a charcoal bbq that we used several times as well as beach chairs and beach toys that were enjoyed by our 3 yr old daughter. We visited Pier 60 and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, although "Winter" was a flop and got shown up by some other dolphins. We also did the Hubbard's Marina Dolphin Watch Cruise off John's Pass and got to see a bunch of dolphins and expensive homes. Best grocery deals were at Publix, 3 miles away. Also, I found the owner (Al) to be a great guys and very easy to work with. Had a great time!! Thanks -- Josh from Redding, CA

Location was fantastic. Literally across the street from beach access. Made it very convenient to jet back over to the house for refreshments, bathroom, etc. Walking distance to the Pier and beachy basrs and restaurants there. House was also very large, easily accomodated our two families of four. Home furnishings were a bit dated and worn...but that's what you expect for a rental property. It was clean, but sometimes it didn't appear that way due to the age. Perfect for families with kids (if you're expecting luxury, not the place for you -- if you want comfortable and accomodating, it's perfect). The place had everything we needed wrt linens, appliances, beach toys/chairs, kitchen utensils, etc. We had a plumbing issue with the house when we arrived and the owner was VERY responsive and quick to send a plumber (even though it was Saturday night). ONLY complaint: the house doesn't have its own wi-fi. Access to the neighbors unsecure line is only available in one room of the house. If you want/need wi-fi, you'll have to get a verizon air card or something like that. Other than that, the location, size, amenities and owner were great. I would recommend it for folks that want a relaxing week at the beach. I'd stay there again.

Wonderful quiet place on a beautiful white sand beach with warm water in the summer time. The swimming pool is very private and a great place to be away from the beach. The house is very roomy for a family to enjoy. Close to the pier and other attractions, possible to do a run to Disneyworld for a day if you start early (about two hours by the time you park and get to the gate). We enjoy going to Busch Gardens in Tampa for the amusement and water parks. This property is well maintained, clean and a great value for a famly.
