Plenty of kitchen utensils, dishes, pots & pans, linens and towels. Bring your own washcloths.
4.7
Comfortable, easy to get to, stocked with the all basics that you need. Comfy beds, all good.

The home is very spacious and having 2 bathrooms a plus. Only thing minor is grass not mowed and some extreme cleaning rules but that didn’t affect us from enjoying the home. Would stay again with family if up in New York again. Chris was very helpful with the getting in process.
4.7
The stairs inside squeak something awful, stairs out side are grown over, tiles in kitchen and both bathroom s are loose, dangerous! Never been to a place with so many signs!!! The washer had a dirty towel in it and the dryer was full of towels I ended up folding. Sign on the washer discouraged us from doing anything but a small load and even read the we should go to the laundry mat. Part of the amenities and a reason I choose this one was a washer and dryer!?

This was a great spot for our families to meet up. The kids had plenty of room to play Adults could converse in a munch more comfortably setting
4.7
We enjoyed the room, comfy beds and well supplied kitchen./
The owner was very considerate.

We enjoyed our stay in this roomy Cape in late October. The three and 5-year-old grandchildren loved the toys kept upstairs in a small bedroom with a child-sized bed. The kitchen was well stocked with spices, coffee, etc. Our host was very responsive, friendly, and helpful with some issues/questions. I feel that the sheets and towels need updating, and a couple of maintenance issues need to be addressed.
4.7
Roomy inexpensive getaway house. However, there were a couple of drawbacks: there needs to be more linens (no washcloths), bedding needs to be updated. Crib frame was broke and bed in the same room sagged in the middle (probably frame was broke). Also, it could have been a little cleaner.

This property served our needs just fine.

Although 25 minutes from Saratoga Race Track - this location is perfect for a group of race track buddies! Plenty of sleeping areas and the home is located in a quiet neighborhood!

For 5 guys the house was perfect half hour to Saratoga 2 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms quiet neighborhood and the host (Chris) was very accommodating and let us drop are bags off 2 hours early we would definitely stay again if available

I will begin by saying we were looking for an inexpensive place to stay when coming in for a memorial service. We got what we paid for-low price and three bedrooms, but the other reviews were spot on in a lot of areas. It was close to town which was nice. Quiet area, and it was on a creek, I think. Across from the college, and I think would be perfect for a young group coming in for a game. For us personally, I think some updating and cleaning would go a long way. Leftovers were left in the microwave from sometime. Garbage cans full and sitting at the street. We did communicate downstairs shower was clogged, and feel certain that will be taken care of for next guests. The bed was comfortable! So that was a plus. Had extra sheets but couldn’t find extra pillow cases. The closet doors were coming out of track and couldn’t sit on back porch because of over growth and mold. The ice maker worked well and glad they had an iron and ironing board. Signs everywhere-I mean everywhere! But I am sure it’s better to have signs than assume people have the sense not to do specific things!! But, feel it could be done with a little more taste. Contact responded in fairly timely manner each time. I did receive sign in stuff a few hours before arrival-but coming in from states away was a little concerned on the delay. But no problems getting in. Like I said, no cutting remarks, or slamming the place-I as a tenant just like details before arrival-so here to help those coming after me if I can!

You can’t beat the location!!!! Large enough for a family to stay. Communication was great and easy checkin!!!

It's hard to review a basic rental in Albany, NY. It's not a tourist destination, and there are not a lot of available rentals.
There were a few problems that I will discuss first. The automatic door lock would unlock but would not lock. I had to call the owner who had to tell me how to access a secret key.
Then the tv wouldn't work properly, and since there was a big sign on the wall telling me not to change the source, I had to call again. It was set to tv and it needed to be on hdmi2. I could have done that myself, but the sign said not to! And there were practically no channels available--I had never before heard of such a bare bones cable package.
Magazines in the bin were from 2016-2018, as was the phone book. Yes, the phone book.
Lastly, the owner has clearly had problems with renters in the past. There were well over 20 posted signs in the house ranging from don't smoke ($5000 fine!) to don't lean on the handrail.
Enough complaints.
The house inside was lovely. 4 large bedrooms. Very generous closet space. Very nice kitchen and living area. The fridge had an automatic ice maker. Central a/c worked beautifully. Beds comfy, nice linens and towels.
The overall quality of the house is high.
Considering the size, 8 people could stay here quite comfortably.
I would think that for the price you get a whole lot.
The positives clearly outweigh the not positives.

The property is conveniently located to major highways and SUNY Albany. The creek was not accessible during our stay. This was disappointing for our family. Having lived in New York for 20 years, I understand that the DEC often controls an owner's ability to trim vegetation. The inaccessibility should have been addressed in the listing. The house was ok but there were some housekeeping issues.

Nothing to add. Great place and Chris was great with communication.

Very accommodating, huge property & clean.

Location was great! House was very nice and cozy!

This home is large and in a very quiet neighborhood. The house is a bit "worn" and showing its age. It was clean. There is a comprehensive check out procedure notebook, with many of the procedures posted around the house. I am not sure I would book the property again if I was visiting in the area.
4.7
Very nice home with extremely large rooms. Could have not asked for a better place to come down to area with family.

Unfortunately the house has declined since we stayed here 5 years ago... towels were thin and stained, .some items need replacingsuch as mattresses.hr we at communication with the owner

Great location, quiet, central to the Capital Region. House is dated but clean and the bedrooms definitely large. Nice large dining room table to gather on.

We stayed 4 nights in this home in the Albany NY area. While the home was for the most part clean it was definitely not PRISTINE.
Pros: 1.) In a great location for connecting to other areas in and around Albany.
2.) Fairly close to stores and restaurants.
3.) Spacious refrigerator, 4 slice toaster, Mr. Coffee drip coffee maker, gas stove and oven, dishwasher.
Cons: 1.) We had problems finding bath towels and they were finally located in the dirty clothes hamper. They had holes, were frayed and thread bare. Not the kind of towels you'd expect for this type of rental.
2.) The stand-up shower in the downstairs bathroom was very small and didn't drain well.
3.) The faucet in the downstairs bathroom is not positioned properly. You need to be sure you turn the faucet on full blast as a small stream will not reach the sink bowl and run all over everything outside of the sink.
4.) Railings on the stairs going upstairs are loose and dangerous. There is a sign on the stairway. As well as the railings on the back deck. This was not mentioned in the listing.
5.) Lising says that the house is on the creek. There is a hazardous stone walkway that leads to the creek but we wouldn't even venture down because there were no railings and after about 50 feet you would be walking into bushes, the trail just disappears.
6.) The dishes, silverware etc. are all mismatched. There were only 4 plates and mugs that were the same as well as multiple types of silverware few of which matched. Pots and pans are dirty and thrown haphazardly in a cabinet.
7.) Check-Out-Checklist: While many of the items on this list are just things you would normally do when leaving a rental there were 2 that left us speachless. A.) Remove sheets & pillow cases off the beds and deposit all linens in the laundry basket. B.) Spray disinfectant over the toilet and wipe it dry. Do they not have a cleaning service? To some this may sound nitpicky, but when I am paying to stay in a VRBO rental I expect to have ammenities equal to what the owner would want. I have notified the owner that I would be posting this review.

We used Chris' house as a gathering place for some friends to get together and play golf & bridge, go to the Saratoga Racetrack and to a minor league baseball game in Troy. The house was as advertised. It was clean and had the necessary kitchen equipment we needed to make our stay comfortable. The weekend we were there was very hot, and we appreciated that the AC and ceiling fans worked well.

Nice home met our needs
This home met my family's needs for a weekend stay in the Albany area when we were getting together for a family function. The home was the perfect size for us and it was very clean and, overall, we enjoyed our stay. However ,we reserved the home for 8 guests but there were only 4 towels that we could find (one of which was stained), so we ended up purchasing a couple towels (it turns out there were a few more towels in a hamper but that information was not documented in the book at the house). The shower downstairs did not drain well which was a nuisance. We reached out to the property manager via the VRBO web site and text message with some concerns and received a late reply to the VRBO message and no reply to the text message only to find out they were travelling. It would have been nice to know this up front. We had a snow storm when we stayed and the driveway was plowed for us which was very helpful. We would stay here again in the future.

Five family members from both coasts were attending a memorial service. This house was the perfect size for us and a very central spot for the various activities. The neighborhood was quiet. The only issue we had was unlocking the door as the lock did not always turn green and sometimes the door opened while the light was red.
