“Can’t wait to return“
Fabulously Friendly;
Never felt more at home. Karina is an impeccable Hostess. SHE Aided us greatly with learning the public Transportation; the stops are so conveniently close.
Don’t worry about germs here…She has such standards of cleaning.
We loved sitting outside after a busy day watching the magic of firefly’s dancing.

It was super clean and in a great location. Very comfortable and my host was amazing. I highly recommend staying here a while.

Extremely generous, nice, and flexible host - I could only arrive two days later than booked due to cancelled flights (I found this out the very evening I was meant to arrive), and she would on her own initiative cancel my first two days, contact booking.com about it, and make me pay only for when I really was there. Many would've charged me for the two missed days. I also had a private bathroom which hadn't been promised (of course this cannot generally be expected). Nice room with comfortable bed. Coffee and tea and some freebies provided. Flawless internet. The neighbourhood seems nice and pleasant and there are many buses (for some of which you've got to walk 13 minutes, but there are closer ones).
Just for information (this wasn't really a problem) - she has two properties and you may not stay at the address given on booking.com. This is a few blocks away. She'll tell you well in advance. Distance to Downtown and Carnegie Mellon if you take the bus is around half an hour. Next breakfast place isn't exactly close.

The host was very polite and patient. She gave us excellent accomodations, and recomended good places to visit during the stay.
I received emails with conflicting information concerning the payment of the stay which was an error on booking.com's part. The host explained the issue and helped us handle the situation well.

There was nothing I didn’t like.

This listing should be removed. The pictures and address are of an apartment that has a long term tenant and is NOT where you are actually staying. The real address is 600 Chislet Street and is nothing like the photos. The smell was overwhelming and they attempted to cover it up with candles and air fresheners. The bathroom is a community bathroom shared with other "apartments" (rooms) and smelled like a gallon of bleach had just been dumped down the drain to cover up the smell. We were so uncomfortable with the state of room and it being a completely different address than we had booked we ended up not staying at all.

The room that was assigned was spacious, comfortable and with large clean bed...large tv, quiet surroundings, good internet connection, and a nice writing desk. Plenty of wall art to keep you entertained. Bathroom was clean and secure and a shared kitchen was available with large refrigerator, stove and microwave. There was plenty of extra blankets and radiant heaters were available if needed.
The hostess/manager Carine knows the business well and has plenty of ideas to keep you busy while visiting Pittsburgh. She has a great sense of humor and will go out of her way to make your stay enjoyable.
I found no problems with my stay at Highland Park.

Not the property we agreed on. a bit of a catfish scenario. location was sketchy, dangerous feeling. my kids were uncomfortable. all the stairs leading to the 3rd floor we were on, were dilapidated. outside traffic all night, no one slept. Had to leave after 1 night, paid for both. Reached out for a refund. no response. dissappointed. we drove over 5 hrs. for that bad experience. The pictures of the house and amenities were completely different from where we ended up….which makes sense, it was a different address all of a sudden, like the day of.

The location was pleasant. Nice neighborhood. Not very fancy, but a true neighborhood. Our host was super flexible and very sweet. She was ok with us coming in very late, and suggested a great breakfast place a 10 minute drive into Shadyside. I definately liked the price....far less expensive than other options!
Perhaps it wasn't what we expected. The property is a large house divided up into several rooms. It was a long walk up an outside stair case, and many more steps up to our room. Our room felt sort of makeshift--old furniture and random posters, and the bed appeared to have an extra mattress on it....we needed chairs to climb into it. The property is eclectic...not elegant.
